I’m watching right now and I couldn’t be more excited!! In addition to hereditary dark circles, I have indentations (hollowness) under the eyes! It takes work everyday. I have a lot of concealers. I’m thanking you in advance Mandy for this video! Lol
Have you found anything that works? I have just ordered the "Industrial strength concealer" by Benefit at Sephora. I have tried so very many, but dark circles always always peek through no matter what. I use several correctors...
Thank you for all of the excellent product recommendations. A tutorial demonstrating your contouring technique to address both hollowing and puffiness would be amazing too. Thanks again for your consistently awesome content!
Neutralize the darkness first! Genius, now I get it that why my corrector works better when I use it. Will not be without one. I'm using the newer Nars one and I really do like it. I'm wondering it the Bobbi Brown one would be too emollient for me. I know the CT one is nice but too creamy and caused more creasing. Great techniques Mandy!
Hi Mandy 🤗 indeed these genetics 😖 I do have dark circles . I have few small capillaries which are so close to the surface of my under eye skin that sometimes I even go try pick at them thinking is a fallen eyelash ☺️ And to add to my misery 😕 I have melasma spots right in the middle of my cheeks under the eyes so it looks like a continuation of my dark circles 🙈 We can’t win, can we?! But I am not stressing about it anymore. It is what it is ☺️ Great video! 👍 I had 2 tubes of the Colorescience Total Eye but I found that it looked little cakey at times. And yes , I am an eye cream lover too 🙌🏼
your tips and tricks, thorough and detailed evaluations and explanations is so rare and so needed. Thank you for being you!!!!! Really having a positive impact on my product knowledge and application techniques
So very helpful Mandy! I don’t have much darkness under my eyes other than the corners but I have deep hollows which of course create shadows. I have found through trial and error that a little lighter concealer works best and I never knew why! I keep hearing that as you age it’s better to stay with your skin tone so I’ve been conflicted. I now feel empowered to tap on that lighter shade😘
Thank you for this video! I have hereditary dark circles and have tried numerous color correctors. I haven't found one that I really love yet. I'm going to try the Jane Iredale one because it's fuller coverage. I agree with you about the Nars color corrector. I have that and while it's not bad, I don't love it. When I entered my 40's, puffy ender eyes began so I'm definitely going to check out the products you recommended for puffiness.
Mandy, this is excellent information. I am so glad you covered all issues in one video - very handy. On a side note, I have been using the Charlotte Tilbury corrector in Fair. As you said, I have discovered a wear-issue, and that yes, it accentuates things I would prefer not to notice. Actually, it accentuates lines I don't even have! Just normal facial movement causes it to move. I am so excited to have some others to try. Will start with the Nars. Many thanks!
I love the becca/smashbox corrector I wear the brightener by itself and even on top of my concealer bc my eyes get sooo dry and it’s so super moisturizing !!!
This was such an AMAZING and helpful video. I ordered all of your recommendations and used your affiliate codes. I can't wait to see how they work! Thank you!
Thank you, Mandy, for doing this video so quickly. I love how you give us all the different options and pros and cons to each product mentioned as well as which products are best for what we're trying to accomplish!💖
Thank you! I love your instructional videos! I especially liked the part on puffy under eyes since we all deal with this on occasion. I’ve never considered using one of my darker concealers as contour to recede my under eye area.
Thank you for this video! The struggle is real!!! Personally, I am LOVING the one from Beauty Pie in the light shade. I have very fair, mature skin and it does wonders underneath my concealer which I don’t have to use as much of. A+++
Great video Mandy! Versed skin care makes an inexpensive eye mask “ Emergency eye mask” keep it in the refrigerator it works great without extreme dehydration. Also, the Inky list caffeine eye cream is inexpensive & effective. Neutrogena has a peach toned corrector that is creamy & covers well. Babor makes a revitalizing eye cream with a cool metal tip that works great for tightening.
Thank you so much Mandy! I suffer with very dark undereye circles and have my whole life. I ordered the Jane Iredale Enlighten and cannot wait! I appreciate your explanations so much!!
Hi Mandy I’m new to your channel and found this video addressing my biggest issue! My under eyes have darkness that are made up of brown hyperpigmentation. As a result, despite being light skinned, I have found myself gravitating toward more orange correctors. I also have hollowness and need a lighter concealer as you explained. I never hear anyone talk about this issues of brown darkness under the eye on a light skin so I had to kind of figure it out for myself. I always feel like a MUA would yell at me if they saw what I was doing! LOL! So many counter people give me too dark a concealer as well and I look sick bc the darkness still peeks through and the hallowness isn’t addressed! I guess I should become a MUA myself! Thanks for addressing this issue and making me feel better about my choices! Great video! I’ll be back for sure❤️
Years ago you mentioned liking the Cinema Secrets ultimate corrector and I got it. It probably doesn’t have very good ingredients, but it sure has worked well for me even though I have tried so many other correctors. I truly appreciate this video and always trust your recommendations.
Thank you great video & I totally agree with you on the Charlotte Tilbury corrector I thought I am the only one who dislike it Have a blessed weekend 🙏❤️
Thank you for taking the time to put this together! It was truly helpful. I have yet to find a CT or Nars product that works for me and never thought of using the CT corrector on my lids. I'll dig it out and give that a shot. The Beauty Pie pink corrector hides my blue veins and does a wonderful job of pushing my trough forward, but it can be too illuminating - esp. with the Pat McGrath under-eye powder. I'll try mixing it with the BP peach corrector. Great suggestions!
Great tips Mandy. I just got the Charlotte tilbury and the Nars. Their "ok". I never needed a corrector but lately I have. I recieved the Caliray skin tint last night and have it on today at work. I love the finish and will see how it wears after a busy day at the salon. It was so easy to apply with fingers. (Was running late!) Thanks for another great recommendation. 😊
This was an amazing video. Thank you so much for explaining the process. I would love for you to do more videos like this explaining how to properly put on foundation and eyeshadow! I learned so much in this video now I have to go to the store and buy the right concealer lol
Often in the morning if I have any puffiness, I'll just take eye creams I have and already love, and add a few drops of The Ordinary caffeine serum, which is cheap. I don't know why, but I have darkness under just one eye, and my son, now 14, has the same, which started when he was 8 or 9. It is about 1/4" or so under the eye, directly below the pupil, not in corner like most get. The other eye is fine and bright.
Watched this video and with a list of items to buy I made a trip to my local Ulta. I ended up getting good advice and a mini makeover from a very knowledgeable employee. Unfortunately, this smaller store did not carry Bobbi Brown and was out of stock of the MAC under eye cream, but I ended up with The Ordinary under eye peptide cream which she uses and raved about, Clinique Even Better All Over Primer and Color Corrector in Peach, and she found a better foundation color for me and matched the concealer to my under eye, also Clinique Even Better line. Going to give it all a chance. Still interested in the Bobbi Brown color corrector stick, which she likes a lot and said it is the best, but I don't want to buy it without trying the colors. Anyway, thank you for best video I have seen on under eye issues.
Just ordered the Jane iredale concealer I’ve been eyeing (no pun intended lol). Also grabbed an Elta md restore using your link and got the 20% off! Thanks for the information and the link 😊🙏
I use the Bad Habit caffeine& Peptide eye cream under the Becca undereye brightener, and it usually helps a lot with the creasing, but the Becca undereye brightener creases super bad on me and I use the tiniest bit, so I'd love a new underye Corrector that makes it so I don't have to wear concealer
You look absolutely gorgeous! I appreciate your video and knowledge! I have a light skin tone with almost purple brown under eyes. I find that when I work to even this area out it looks pretty good for a couple of hours but by lunch time the darkness is showing thru. Do you have any suggestions for this? Thanks in advance !!
I have found that making sure your skin prep is right, makeup tends to last longer. So using a good eye cream seems to help! And you can get a brightening powder to help touch up throughout the day as well. 🥰
I have very puffy all eye area and im aging so everything creamy creases a lot on me...tarte shape tape working great becouse its quite dry and i dont have to use powder...chanel peche not working for me, i should look for something like BB stick
Thank you... would you make any suggestions for someone with very dark circles on light medium skin which peek through any concealer? I have tried most concealers and most peach or orange correctors on the market. I have even had a paid appointment at Sephora and tried most of their concealers but most caked, as I also have extremely dry under eyes and very fine texture, regardless of age. Only at Nordstrom I went through many concealers including La Mer and Armani and Charlotte Tilbury, and the YSL Touch Eclat High Cover Radiant one gave best coverage and caked the least. However my dark circles still peek through though I pair it with an orange corrector and the Touch Eclat HighLighter or the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Filter.
Some of the extreme darkness will peak through even the best of correctors and concealers. :( I know many people have had success with treatments (lasers and fillers) helping darkness, but I understand if you don't want to go that route.
Hi Mandy! I've been using Trish McEvoy's Instant Eye Lift corrector for a few months now and really like it. I'm 61 and don't find it drying and I also don't need a concealer with it. Are you familiar with this one?
Hey Mandy 😊 Really helpful video 😉I have light skin under my eyes with some freckles as my face is full of them lol. So pink would be good for me ? 😊💚💚💚💚
Hi Mandy and ladies! Wanted to share my experience with very dark under eye circles and the use of a color corrector. I’m fair so I’m loving the Beauty Pie genius corrector in the pink shade and use a concealer as well but was having trouble with a little creasing as the day went on. Turns out since the Beauty Pie corrector is already very emollient I was over moisturizing my under eyes. So when I backed off on the normal amount of under eye cream and instead went in with a much lighter amount the creasing disappeared. Who knew, right!? Anyhow, I was so happy to not have to look for another or different product as I spent a small fortune trying correctors until I found what worked the best for me. And I hope this may help one of you. Enjoy the rest of the weekend! 💖✨💕
This was an excellent video. I have a specific problem that I don't know how to correct. I have a puffy area on my cheekbone (just the right one) where I would normally use blush. Right above this cheekbone I have a sunken in area. Should I discontinue using blush on my cheekbone and use a highlighter above to bring the sunken in area out? I just don't know the way to handle this area.
I would try to place the blush in n a bit of a different position to see if that helps. Because putting blush and bronzers on top of places we don’t like does tend to make them more noticeable. 🙁
Always check where the caffeine is in the ingredients that’s why I use Clinique serum in a long tube with a metal roller before or after make-up in lids or the trough and the caffeine is like the 4-5th ingredient but if caffeine is like 7-10 your wasting your $$ for puffy. Also Demi from Seint has saved my underneath eyes with peach and a light pink and it’s a wax base and never creases on my underneath eye area and for darkness on lids try MAC Paint potily covers the veins and darkness also a peach color from MAC Is length wavely which is peachy but not a lot of peach but it stays on. But Demi from Seint which is color science Demi is unbelievable for no creasing at all and I have a lot of wrinkles under my eyes and crow’s feet but at my age soon to be 61 I’ll still use Demi O3 or Y/O 1 and to really soften my crow’s feet would be some Botox not much just for the real deepest crow’s feet so that would be like 3-5 units on each outer corners lower to my cheeks when I really laugh but Demi really doesn’t crease at all either but in spring time I will do Botox on my deepest crow’s feet that the most bothersome on my deepest laughing lines and go from there. Thank You so much Julie ❤️💚💙😻
Mandy, I am liking my Pixie eye liners although I am getting quite a bit of smudging on my under eyes, & I only tight line the upper lids yet it seams to give me black eyes. What am I doing wrong???
I don’t have any darkness under my eyes, lucky in that way. But, my under eyes are DRY, fine lines. I’ve been using the Shisedo Benefiance eye cream forever. What would be good for that, for a change? And, what shade do you use in the Clinique concealer? . I’m about your skintone.
I would maybe look into using a hydrating eye serum underneath your eye cream for even more moisture. I use the Colorescience total eye serum in the morning and neogenesis eye serum at night. I go between Ivory (lighter color) and cream Chamois (CN40 for my darker one).
@@MandyDavisMUA thanks so much, I will look into the serums. I had a sample packet of the Clinique concealer, and really liked it (wrong color), so I wanted to know what color you use, since we are pretty much the same skintone. I thought the Clinique concealer was much better than the new Lancôme one. Tried a sample of that, and no, not for me. Glad I didn’t buy that one.
I love the fitglow peach so much but mine ran out and I ordered a new one one a couple months ago and it was thick and sticky. I asked about it and was told the formula has changed… have you gotten a new one and seen the difference? I’m having a hard time finding anything that works as well!
I so appreciate your honesty on the role of genetics and which products were just "meh" for you. I'm going to try the Jane Iredale. The colorscience 3-in-1 is just an "okay" for me although I do like the SPF. I have the beauty pie luminizer and concealer. I'm not crazy about the luminizer except on the inner corner of my eyes for a pop. I'll try it as a highlighter as you suggested. My only other question is if mascara and lining under the eyes is helpful to take attention away from darkness or hollowness. I lightly use mascara on my lower lashes and have begun doing the smudge undereye liner/powder like you do - except always in a peach color. I love that effect!
I definitely think using a shadow and smoking out the under eye and lower lash mascara helps! Only using a liner and not smoking it out can tend to pull the eye down. 🥰
I’m blessed. I’m 60 and no dark circles or puff. I do have eye problems. Dry eyes. And 60 brought me sensitive eyes. What?? Ha ha I do have inner corner darkness
The Beauty Pie one is basically the same kind of formula. So you could copy and paste what she said about that one and apply it to the Smashbox x Becca one.
Hi! You could use a foundation one shade lighter to help match the scar to the surrounding skin, and then bronze accordingly. You could use a super full coverage concealer first. I like the NARS soft matte concealer for this. And sometimes green correctors work on white. ❤️
