Great video. Would I be right in thinking that the insulation has to be perfectly flat otherwise the screed on top will crack

Would it have made sense to put the pipes through out all the kitchen and put insulation below the kitchen units? That way when you fancy a kitchen refurb you wont have cold spots?

Dear Expert, Thank you for the brilliant explanation. My question is whether we can install new laminate on top of old ceramics while using a wet floor heating system. Could you please guide me on whether this would prevent efficient heating conductivity, increase energy consumption, and how it might affect moisture levels? Additionally, what steps can I take to control these factors? Best regards,

What thickness of screed went on top of the 75mm insulation?

Thanks. Any videos of the floor being laser levelled? before the tripods are placed down?
@mrabuilders6723
@mrabuilders6723 Год назад
Unfortunately not the footage was all done in Timelapse but at 09:06 minutes you can see him checking with a tape measure and adjusting those tripods Mick points out and the laser is top right of the screen on the floor. All he does is get a finished screed height from our marks we give him from our existing finished floor height. Hope this helps but happy to answer any more questions. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻

@@mrabuilders6723 ah, was wondering where the laser was! What would you say the max liquid screed depth should be? 50mm? My floor as the insulation under the concrete slab. There is 15mm difference in floor level so i was going to lay 35mm in some areas, with a max depth 50mm.
@danlong6311
@danlong6311 Год назад
@@MR54TSN it’s my understanding from when I did our floor that you can go thinner with a liquid screed than a sand based screed. From memory you should be fine with a liquid screed like in this video for your depths you mentioned An exiert may correct me if I’m wrong 😂

Do you not pressure to 6 bar, which is recommended?
@mrabuilders6723
@mrabuilders6723 Год назад
Hi Jeff. If that was recommended I’ve got every faith that it’s what he would have done so I’ll trust that this system didn’t need 6 bar pressure test. However, I shall ask the question and give you his answer if it’s any different. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Great job lads but I think it’s unnecessary to have underfloor heating when you have all that insulation 2 Vapour barriers concrete and the flooring on top.

What would heat up the 8m x 3.6m space? UFH is the most efficient way mate rather than Radiators
@davesmith729
@davesmith729 Год назад
@@mrabuilders6723 ohhh wow ok I get it, I assumed that would only heat up the floor and not the actual air space also ? I thought there was going to be a couple of radiators installed. I’ve learnt so much from you guys so by me asking questions I learn form your answers. Great bunch of guys 🙏

@@davesmith729 ufh is essentially a massive radiator. Because the surface is so large you can drop the flow temps significantly. Which is much more efficient.

You put another DPM over the celotex? 🤷‍♂️
@mrabuilders6723
@mrabuilders6723 9 месяцев назад
Hello Tom, yes mate, it has to be done. The screed fellas do it in order to effectively turn the floor into a pond so the liquid screed doesn't flow out everywhere. It's not a DPC in its true form, it's pierced all over the place by the clips that hold the pipes in place. Hope that helps?
@tommendoza1812
@tommendoza1812 9 месяцев назад
@@mrabuilders6723 so I’ve laid the black membrane onto the block and beam, then celotex is done and taped, UFH going down at weekend, so it’s already on top of 1 complete sheet.
@mrabuilders6723
@mrabuilders6723 9 месяцев назад
@tommendoza1812 from a true 'DPM' point of view, that's that done, the sheet that goes on top of your celetex is for the purpose of the screed, not to stop moisture coming up from the floor.

Hi What was the price for uhf please?
@shizzleinthenizzle

guys next time allow for 150mm of EPS insulation . It's better U value, half the price and works brick.
@mrboyban
@mrboyban Год назад
Probably it is down to the customer's preference how high the floors should be. One would argue that 2400mm is the ideal amount of insulation, but hey you have to account for many other factors not just how warm it can be.
