@MsMissy What isn’t grown up about pointing out facts that this type of thing is very much an minority mindset in Ulster. If you had an all Ulster vote tomorrow on an United Ireland, it would be accepted by the majority. The PUL community only makes up about 35% of the population of Ulster at this moment in time.
@Pugna. The St. George’s Flag, they don’t like us flying,, and they don’t make a big thing about St. George’s day on the TV, but if it St Andrew’s Day, St Patrick’s day , , they bigger thing of them days ,, on This morning for instance, they have a couple of small St. George’s flags in a corner somewhere, and nothing gets mention, but for the other days , they make a bug ole fuss ,, seen it ..
Sheffield? When did you in the UK ever march under the colour of a Dutch King (William of orange)? The fact of the matter is that no one in the UK cares about William of Orange or "Northern" Ireland.
@@stephenoneill2844These are the sons and daughters WHO FOUGHT THE NAZIS ....not like you COWARDLY IRISH THAT ASSISTED HITLER & THE VATICAN !!! Every fascist of the 20th century was a Roman Catholic. Hitler ,Mussolini, Franco and the pope.

Most deffo, we missed it this year for obvious but soon again the 6 x 3 white Rose will be back again. Leeds season ticket holders since 76 and the kids are still holders now. No Surrender ever.Dont be fooled by the name, that’s a bike name we are Yorkshire and British through and through. Respect from Wakey.
Fantastic to see such a great throng of people all connected to a common cause. Best wishes to all the loyalists of Scotland. The union is better together.
It's all about our British identity and preserving it at any cost cheers for liking the parade we have 3 other parades in East, North and west Glasgow this is the south side heading back to its district tens of thousands watch this all over Glasgow all the best from Scotland 🇬🇧
I was over in Scotland and they were amazing, quite a few came back for 12th July in Northern Ireland. The Scots are brilliant. Keep it up you prods, you lot really know how to parade. No surrender. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’m not too bothered by religion and the divisions it causes and I am a catholic from Dublin, but I do respect the traditions of the marching bands, this obviously means a lot to all present. Good atmosphere in fairness
A very decent and balanced view mate. I'm from a mixed background myself and have no time for the bigotry of songs glorifying the killing of innocents (from either side of the divide) however I worry about the attempts of some to completely quash the identities and traditions of people. The protestant community of Northern Ireland (and kindred communities elsewhere in the UK) appear to be particularly unfairly targeted in this regard right now- not every expression of pride is bigotry and we could all be a little more tolerant.
Avoiding the catholic areas would be nice, I wish I could be there in person because youtube doesn’t give you the atmosphere, everyone is pumped up and loving it, but the other side are obviously whinging because during summer they have to deal with it.
William of Orange landed in Brixham on the 5th November 1688 and issued his famous declaration “The liberties of England and the Protestant religion I will maintain”.
@@moraymac2922 Tbh half of the people ik that are in bands don't actually give a shit about what the songs are about or even what the parades are based on, they just enjoy playing music and having a day of marching.
@@moraymac2922 it’s to celebrate a battle won by king William who was known as prince of orange, hence the orange order, I’ve been in the order for 30 years and I can tell you no hatred is mentioned in any meetings I’ve ever attended I also have Catholic friends so stop being ignorant and spreading false information.
@@robertmckittrick9033 find something more appropriate to dedicate to your father,a mob of unemployable bigot lager louts screaming sectarian songs about 2.5 million people dying of starvation isn't something I would want to associate with my loved ones who died
@zsazsa zsazsa do cretins who dedicate dead people to a disgusting group of people who sing songs about 2 million of my countrymen dying of starvation, in reality it was a genocide? Fuck off dickhead
Well three of the 9 ulster counties are in the Republic of Ireland and there’s a good chance the rest will be too in the not too distant future if that’s what the people decide

I'm living in Ireland over 70 years, and I've yet to see a Leprechaun. Fantasy of course, but Ireland makes money from the sale of Leprechaun souvenirs, so keep believing!
my memory I will always see The town that I have loved so well Where our school played ball by the gas yard wall And we laughed through the smoke and the smell Going home in the rain, running up the dark lane, Past ther gaol (jail) and down behind the fountain, Those were happy days in so many, many ways In the town I loved so well. In the early morning, the shirt factory horn Callde women from Creggan, the moor and the bog While their men on the dole played a mother's role Fed the children and then trained the dogs. And when times got tough, there was just about enough But they saw it through without complaining For deep inside was a burning pride In the town I loved so well There was music there in the Derry air Like a language that we all could understand I remember the day when I earned my first pay When I played in a small pick-up band There I spent my youth and to tell you the truth I was sad to leave it all behind me For I learned about life and I found a wife In the town I loved so well But when I returned how my eyes have burned To see how a town could be brought to its knees By the armoured cars and the bombed out bars And the gas that hangs on to every breeze Now the army's installed by the old gas yard wall And the damded barbed wire gets higher and higher With their tanks and their guns oh my God what have they done To the town I loved so well Now the music's gone but they carry on For their spirit's been bruised, never broken They will not forget but their hearts are set On tomorrow and peace once again. For what's done is done and what's won is won And what's lost is lost and gone forever I can only pray for a bright, brand new day In the town I loved so well Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Phil Coulter
Well, you have to admit this is some fantastic passion you see here from the Orange side of the divide. As an ex British soldier who served in the province (1979-81), and as a non Protestant or Roman Catholic (I'm Greek Orthodox Christian), the divide there makes me somewhat of a neutral. Love the people there, particularly the loyalist side as that is the side I had my happiest memories with.
Absolutely terrific to see the establishment of parliamentary democracy being celebrated in a tuneful and colourful way. As for those in the comments section being deliberately offended? Well you can happily go home.
The Glasgow parades alway's been special esp when catholics join protestant neighbours for a beer 4 or 4 in the garden let's them hear and know the natural order of Glasgow city...
