Freshii has captured the market in healthier, fresh, fast food. Boss Matthew Corrin opened his first store in 2005 and now he has 80, around the world. But when he dares to work undercover in his own Canadian franchises, he makes surprising discoveries. One worker literally rubs salt in his wounds when he struggles to cut up tomatoes.[32]

The former CEO of Japan Airlines significantly cut his own wages to avoid downsizing employees and cutting into their pay when profits were down. He took the bus to work, wore affordable suits and ate his lunch in the staff cafeteria like everyone else. he also took the time to interact with his staff on a personal level. I do not see any undercover "bosses" prepared to do anything close to that level of awesomeness.

If you actually scratch under surface of the premise for this show it's kinda concerning that CEOs don't realise their staff are humans until they work literally next to them... And they don't realise how badly paid their staff are until they're told that "as a stranger"... Be great if companies could just be nice to their employees without having to make a TV show about it!
@lilSniper47
@lilSniper47 2 года назад
They do know how badly their employees is being paid. CEO is the one making the decision how much employees get paid.
@havenbastion
@havenbastion 2 года назад
Not only that, but they never work with bad employees, only good ones, so they're obviously choosing them in advance so they have something to reward, just to make the company look good. It's marketing, not company improvement. If they legitimately cared about improvement they'd have been taking employee feedback seriously the entire time

They go and do advanced research on all of these locations and their employees. The show plays on the premise that CEOs don't know how much their employees are getting paid. They work with a good ones mainly so that they have a sob story, and can give the well deserving employees a raise, as it's probably a prerequisite for being on the show. They also do work with the bad employees. You see them get reprimanded, and even fired sometimes on these shows. I've been in business owner for 10 years, and I know exactly how much all of my employees are getting paid... They get paid more than me. Not only do I take on major risk with this company, most of the money the company makes goes right back into growing the business so I can hire more employees, and give raises to my existing employees. That's not easy. I literally took a huge pay cut 10 years ago, and have only given myself a raise once. CEOs can be a little different as they may just be appointed, but this guy started the business. He's sharp. He knows more than what they let on. All that being said, I'm not sure I like the guy, but look at how many people he is giving a paycheck to. To how many people do you give a salary?

Dewi Meiland-Sontono its for the company's safety I think. if they give it away and someone gets sick...its an Extremely big liability for the company. I worked for a restaurant and whatever we made that was left over...perfectly fine..we would bring to a homeless shelter but after a different company got sued..the company stopped that. its because everyone is so "sue-happy" these days that it is extremely hard to help anyone anymore which is pretty sad

5 minutes into the show and I can already tell he has 2 problems: 1) His attitude - 100% ego & zero human sensitivity 2) His "board of directors" - too young, too passive, I can imagine their meetings : they all say "yes" to whatever he says because they are too inexperienced and weak. I hope I am 100% wrong... because I have not sat down and shared a meeting with them, but I would NOT be surprised if I am right.

Lisa Proust: My first sense of his 'real' personality was when he went in to brief his H/O staff (BDO as you say) and he spoke robotically. He talked at them- not to them. Finishes, what feels like a scripted speech, and gets up and leaves in one motion. Genuine connection is tough for some people but as a CEO I think this reflects his age and experience.

I've been binge watching this show today. Yeah, the owners are great people throwing some extra pennies at those who are not as fortunate as them. Why the fuck does it take doing this show for owners to actually appreciate their employees? These employees are going above and beyond without any recognition first... There's a CEO who took a pay cut so he could give everyone of his employees a $750,000 a year salary. These employees pooled their money together to buy said boss his dream car. These employees, when covid hurt business, came up with the idea to willingly take a pay cut until business bounced back.

I was debating the same point in my head as I watched and I was on the fence until as an offside, out of 'character', he said '...a happy customer means more business for the owner.' Not for the business, not for the brand, not to secure the future of the enterprise - but for the 'owner.' To me that strongly suggests that he views this first and foremost as a way to make money. I've managed a number of hospitality businesses and in my experience if you're in it purely for the profit motive you're in the wrong business. Food operations can be profitable but it takes a lot of hard work and passion and you've got to love the business, not just the turnover. I might be totally wrong but his attitude reeks of a guy with a business degree that thought he saw a way to make a fast buck with no love for the intricacies, tradition and social responsibility of working in the industry. I might have been biased by having watched the 'Golden Krust' episode immediately before where the situation was exactly the opposite - a guy with passion for his product but really lacking in the subtlety to manage a large business.

In the scheme of things in corporate world a hundred stores is not really a lot. So I'm not surprised you didn't have a lot to give out. And as someone who works for corporate company it's not all about what they can give me so much as being appreciated being listened to be able to pay my bills get a decent paycheck for the job that I do. That's what's important. What's the point of being able to go on a trip if when you come back you can't pay your bills or you don't have a job at all because the company is bankrupt.

Before judging the people on the video first ask yourself what have you done so far? The CEO is giving atleast some few grands to his employee as an appreciation for their hardwork but you have you ever spared a dollar from your earnings and gave to a homeless person? The lady from Mexico was a refugee and she had undergone a dark phase in her life, What will be your character or appearance be if you had undergone a harsh life in the past? The guy from Sri Lanka is not fluent in English because English is not his first language but still he is giving his best to communicate with the customers he could. How will your communication with the customers be if you are working in Sri Lanka and you have to communicate with the customers in sri lankan language and you are not fluent with their language? From this video I have learned so many good things like not to judge people before knowing them fully, always to help people, and how to bring a smile on someone face. But after going through all the comments of those people who have negative opinions about this video and the concept, I came to know that you guys are all frustrated for not being successful in life and everytime you see successful person living their life to fullest it frustrates you even more. Well, so my advice for y'all is to focus on your goal instead of wasting your time on spreading hatred. There is no shortcut towards success without hardwork and courage so workhard and keep trying even if you fail and never give up. #Let_the_postitive_energy_flow ✌️

The plastic bags are biodegradable
@kimhunter2
@kimhunter2 5 лет назад
@@bumblebeez1995 Courtney Gough Biodegradable synthetic petrochemical plastic is a deadly misnomer. "...ubiquitous bags may never fully decompose; instead they gradually just turn into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic. The most common type of plastic shopping bag is made of polyethylene, a petroleum-derived polymer that microorganisms don’t recognize as food and as such cannot technically “biodegrade.” The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency defines biodegradation as “a process by which microbial organisms transform or alter (through metabolic or enzymatic action) the structure of chemicals introduced into the environment.” In “respirometry” tests, whereby experimenters put solid waste in a container with microbe-rich compost and then add air to promote biodegradation, newspapers and banana peels decompose in days or weeks, while plastic shopping bags are not affected. Even though polyethylene can’t biodegrade, it does break down when subject to ultraviolet radiation from the sun, a process known as photodegradation. When exposed to sunshine, polyethylene’s polymer chains become brittle and crack, eventually turning what was a plastic bag into microscopic synthetic granules. Scientists aren’t sure whether these granules ever decompose fully, and fear that their buildup in marine and terrestrial environments-and in the stomachs of wildlife-portend a bleak future compromised by plastic particles infiltrating every step in the food chain. A plastic bag might be gone in anywhere from 10 to 100 years (estimates vary) if exposed to the sun, but its environmental legacy may last forever." We are now drinking and eating these microscopic petrochemicals.
