Underpowered to Powerful Engine at ₹17,500 - Wind Booster | MotoWagon. 

Hello MotoFam, there is some mixed feedback from you people regarding the Wind Booster. We understand your concerns over its inappropriate usage which might cause serious safety concerns. To be frank, this content is intended to add some boost to sluggish engines as We have been getting a lot of enquiries regarding this area and we have clearly mentioned this in the video. Also we in fact got positive feedback from select users before making the video. Kindly don't get confused with the intention. Kindly take time to watch the video completely and come to a conclusion or Judgment. Thank you.

How a Pedal Sensor works & what does windbooster do ? Windbooster is based out of China. Its not an Australian based company ! Pedal sensor assy in a car is connected to ECM, that process and activate an actuator called (Throttle body & Injector) based on the pedal depressing angle/ratio, opens up valve for intake of air. Based on volume of air, detected by MAF sensor, air pressure regulator works in-conjunction where (Air fuel ratio) is determined. Based on the air inside + amount of O2 the fuel is sprayed to combustion chamber via injectors. The supply volt from pedal assy to ECM is 4.7V, although in theory it can be said 5V, there will be voltage drain based on condition of wiring inside the car + battery. Normal factory fitting, throttle response is linear, depressed ratio in line with throttle body opening, all the way to 100% ( pedal completely floored, throttle body fully open), driver is in control of the car. Percentage % of pedal depressed tally with % of opening of valve in throttle body. Pedal Booster installed, in general will increase the voltage signal artificially, eg, 30% of pedal depressed, it fools the ECM to open the throttle body valve by 40% than the required 20%. Car will surge forward, but is the driver really in control of the car ? NO, cause after 50% pedal depressed, voltage supply is constant and speed has increased than required. So if pedal depressed is more than 50%, there is no more pedal input to ecm. Car will be in higher speeds already. WRT to individual driver comments after installation is, your driver behaviour pattern will change and when you drive a different car without any pedal booster you may struggle. Real question is,I couldn't find any open up circuit diagram or working diagram of Windbooster. Even the actual website from china, don't have any information on bluetooth connected GT device. www.windbooster.com/download/ . Normally the following questions users have to ask is ? 1. Fail safe mechanism in place - Since pedal booster sits between Ecm and Pedal assy, what if it malfunctions while driving ?, what happens then ? Does it allow the ECM to take control of the pedal assy ? 2. How does fail safe work ? - The inbuilt PCB must have required resistors and canbus programmed ( for giving back control to ECM ). Does this pedal booster have ? Why there is no schematic diagram of pedal booster not provided in their own website ? 3. Reverse Gear - Nobody talked about the car while reversing. Reverse gear ratio is not like forward gear ratio which surges forward (Engine RPM, Gear ratio & Wheel movement.). SO if pedal booster is running, does the car surge a lot faster while reversing ? We need to know this, as most of the users of car have gentle movement on pedal assy ? with the ECM fooled, whats the output ? need clarifications. Whole idea of pedal booster talks about functions, modes, ease of connectivity (Bluetooth), less space etc. But it doesn't address the above question.

Unnecessary device and adds one more point of failure. Could even result in accidents if device software is not properly coded and results in uncontrollable acceleration. A good driver would be able to extract the best from engine without these addon devices.

Motowagon team, we have huge respect on you but don't promote these kind of devices under Must Have Series. You can do promotions but this is definietly not a must have accessory and do you have any information who is the manufacturer of this device, who is importing and what is the safety and security mechanisms guarenteed? It is a very normal device used in abroad for the low power engines.... Particularly i have seen its usage in Suzuki jimny..... So its a purely optional... If a driver thinks he got a sluggish engine and getting sedative response means this booster will give u a good throttle response...... So its purely optional.... Let it be a promotion too why this much negative replies..... End of the day its the owner going to decide not the motowagon i hope .... Even shock absorber stabilizer was previously shown by them ...... They atleast try to show things around the World in layman perspective.......

Is this not risky? Electronics interference may also lead to car getting wrong inputs and may be acclerating while we may want it to slow down.. whats the fail safe?

This could be a useful device for owners of cars with sluggish throttle response. However, there's a risk that insurance cos. will deny your accident claims, if they find this device installed. Any thoughts on this?

I have a doubt. Na i20 Sportz model vachirukan athuku intha device use pana Namaku hills ku drive pana useful ah irukum ah because na hills climb aagum pothu once break edutha extra rise pani poga vendiyatha iruku.

This looks more like a paid promotion, you did not show the details like how much RPM its increasing, are we just increasing the accelerator sensitivity only? Based on the engine sound from the test drive its look like the egine is revving up to increase the speed and this will obviously increase fuel consumption and put strain on the engine right? How come they claim there is no side effect and no excess fuel consumption? Then where will the extra power come from? Please provide some clarity if you have chance to discuss this in future videos.

Hence we are changing the throttle pattern, will it cause any fuel pump / gear box issue in near future? Why I am asking is, say I am in 2nd gear, by the natural design it is having a particular gear ratio, the power train is applying some X Nm troque on the wheels, here when we are using this booster device in the same gear ratio I am trying to apply more X+n% Nm torque on the power train. Won't it affect the gears inside the gear box and due to sudden fuel surge, won't it affect fuel pumps life time? Just trying to understand.

Hi brother I have a doubt, Consider the acceleration input is 40 percent through device it is give as +25(approx) gives 65 percent acceleration output What if if we give 100 percent acceleration will it able to extract 125 percentage of the performance? This is similar to tuning boxes which were available 10-15 yrs back. Earlier they used to fool the ECU by sending manipulated signals from oxygen/lambda sensor. Here it is a throttle sensor. Old techniques are much safer as there is no risk of uncontrolled acceleration or throttle locks due to faulty signal.

Never change stock condition which related to the engine function, because it has been tested and validated for that particular components only. Small example, if accelaration connectors are not verfied and certified by standards, then it may cause safety problems.

Sir is it really useful...?

Press the accelerator harder and save 17k. They use these in off roaders to vary thottle inputs in different conditions. 1)This is nothing but an throttle controller. He is cleverly avoiding the word. You can get throttle controllers for around 5k. This can be brought easly outside and online. 2)Main concern is this is definitely no for an cvt toyota/honda engineers are not fools. If simply altering thottle response is what all it takes they would have done it. Cvt cant take up this everytime. Tirupur annan should throw this away from his AMT. 3) in small diesel cars turbo lag is increased in 1.3 as by design it takes sometime and egr to give enough pressure to turbo these engines characteristics make them last long. in tuning these things are kept in mind. In 1.5/1.4 engine you dont get the lag as much beacuse of the displacement advantage. By simply adding this it ruins everything. 4)for 20k you can get an proper tuner or tuning box itself 17k for throttle controller is too much

Explained beautifully at the end..This doesn't alter the power and torque of the car..It will increase the throttle response alone...We can achieve the high power delivery without hard pedalling the gas...

More power will reduce the engine life, brakes will not be efficient, additionally the mileage will drop drastically. Kindly avoid using such products.

All this does is send fake accelerator pedal percentage signal to the ECU. I wouldn’t trust some random device like this to modulate the signal from driver’s accelerator pedal position. Can end up being a huge safety hazard if it malfunctions. This is not a ground breaking concept either. Devices like this have been available since several years. There are team bhp threads about a similar product (pedaltune) from 2016!

Let's be realistic. What you are claiming is that this does not do any magic but just hijacks the signal from the accelerator and multiplies it to feel more Power. This is totally waste and does not improve performance. Any owner will get used to a car over time and knows that he has to press the pedal more to increase response. This is just another level of automation and honestly 17,500 is unbelievable for a microcontroller and simple code that would multiply the throttle reaponse.
