If you live in Oakland or Macomb County, you are NOT from Detroit. Only places i would live in Michigan are downtown Detroit or Grosse Pointe area. Both Wayne County.
Yikes. I was born in Detroit but lived all my 70 years in the Detroit suburbs and I wouldn’t live in any of those cities. I’d go for Berkley. Plenty of starter houses, great schools and wonderful downtown. It’s next to Royal Oak and close to Ferndale and 15 minutes to the stadiums and art museums in Detroit. It’s also a safe, walkable community.
Have to disagree about affordable.. I like it here but Macomb county traffic sucks. Terrible MDOT construction planning. Skelator doesn't know wtf he is doing
Grew up in R.O. ,have lived here in Pennsylvania almost 50 years, I do not say I’m from Detroit, I just say I’m from the first large suburb heading north from 8 mile. Everybody here knows 8 mile from MM’s movie.
@@kennethphelan6205 Aren’t too bright are you? I live in Grosse Pointe in Wayne County and its one of the wealthiest and most beautiful areas of Michigan. Yes i agree. Monroe is a shithole. Anywhere downriver is.

@@LukasP143 im not from Grosse Pointe. I lived in downtown Detroit for years but nice try lol and yes if you live in Grosse Pointe you are part of Detroit Wayne County. Everyone here pays Detroit city taxes.
What are you even talking about? It is the metropolitan Detroit area, these are suburban cities in the metropolitan area. It is not the same as saying San Diego is Los Angeles. Learn to read a map… Also, the title indicates that!!!
