Thank you for promoting other neighborhoods than the expat bubbles and THANK YOU for disregarding the uncommon-sense, lazy minded, over-generalized "safe area" questions! BEST VIDEO FOR TOURISTS WHO ACTUALLY WANT TO EXPERIENCE AUTHENTIC CULTURE and not just have a Disneyland experience of CDMX surrounded by other foreigners (Americans). ✌️ 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏 👌

Thank you for a great video. I leaved in Mexico City back in 2001, 2002 and still go there very often with my wife who still has an apartment there. I think I know what Neighborhood you left out and I thank you for not talking about it. My wife grew up in Narvarte and her family still lives there. I love that neighborhood and it is a great place to live. Keep up these videos. Peace and love

Great video, loved it. Just wanted to say that of course there are a lot of foreigners in Roma, Condesa, and Polanco in relation to the rest of the city but they of course still feel like Mexico, just not necessarily the experience that some people want to have in Mexico. The population of each of these neighborhoods is overwhelmingly mostly Mexican. Just a little caveat in case some people get the idea that these neighborhoods are truly overrun by foreigners the way it's often portrayed on the internet. That being said, some other neighborhoods that I absolutely love and feel are underrated are: San Jose Insurgentes Guadalupe Inn Insurgentes Mixcoac San Miguel Chapultepec Florida Santa Catarina Jardines del Pedregal along with the ones mentioned in the video

@@MrRiceandbeanz @MrRiceandbeanz These are mostly in the Southwest of the city which has cleaner air, virtually bordering the forest that's west of Mexico City. These neighborhoods are also on volcanic rock which protects them from major earthquake damage (unlike the cities in the center which are on the lakebed). These neighborhoods also have a great mixture (in my opinion) of being in the hustle of the city with being removed from the extreme where it gets overwhelming. I lived in Roma and absolutely loved it but it's certainly not for everyone.

There is so much written on the air and water quality of Mexico City. It’s also a high altitude city. Can you comment on adjusting to the air quality and altitude as well as the water situation. Wow. I love your video. I'm from Mexico City living in L.A for more than 15 years now and I have to say, you have very accurate information. I like the way you have explained the importance of writing addresses right, and also that you're talking about neighborhoods that are as you say underrated, like Narvarte, Escandon and Santa Maria la Ribera. But it would be nice if you also talk about Condesa, Roma, Coyoacan, you're very well informed and people would appreciate your input regarding these neighborhoods.

Discovered your vlog. Glad you didn't mention where I live. Somehow I am not worried about too many expats. Hope that I as an expat am not annoying others the way expats have annoyed me. One of the great benefits of Mexico City is that it seems unlikely in my lifetime the place will be run over by them. The whole concerned about Mexico city crime theme that comes from the US seems a little ridiculous in my experience here. You seem to understand perfectly how to live here and I bet you have gotten away from the things in the States that annoyed you. Thanks for the video.

I've been going to CDMX yearly since 2016 (spending a good two weeks each time) and I'm planning to move there next year. I'll be there this November and will explore some of the colonias you mentioned. I very much like Sta. Maria la Ribera as a hood, but as you mentioned, the café and restaurant scene is somewhat lacking. I like col. Granada, just north of Polanco. Not overrun with expats (yet), supermarkets, lots of conveniences, metro stations at walking distance.

I'm now living in an Airbnb Torres Bioparque until I secure my temporary residency. I like modern conveniences, highrise condos buildings, and parks. For that reason, I'm considering Santa Fe / La Mexicana Park. I'm hesitant because I don't know if it is overrun with foreigners (Americans). Have you spent any time there? Did you feel welcomed? It's been a while so you probably already made your decision, but I personally didn't like Santa Fe. No access to public transportation besides the busses she mentioned that are kind of complicated for foreigners, busy streets that make it not a very walkable place, it's far from the city's core, and it's more expensive. Its a corporate and mid-upper class area so it attracts a decent amount of foreigners. It is very modern and luxurious though and there's more high rises compared to other parts of the city. But every colonia has its benefits and tradeoffs
