Wow. Never watched this channel, but this guy really knows his stuff. If he's this knowledgeable on every nfl team, his brain must be enormous. Texans were 6th worst run D in NFL history in 2022. The guys they added to improve so much for 2023 on interior DL are gone. Will be interesting to see how that goes.
The Texans had more injuries than any team in the history of keeping records on that stat. With a healthy Oline and depth they will be a lot better on the run and pass protection. Al Shair is the perfect mike linebacker for Demecos scheme. I think one of the new DTs will step up to a Greenard level because of Hunter, Autry and Anderson.
Good call, their red zone offense was pretty bad. I don't know how many times we saw Stroud throwing highlight ball after highlight ball all the way down the field constantly to run into a brick wall and then having to settle for 3 the vast majority of times. A lot of games the Texans put up huge yardage numbers, surpassing our opponents by a lot to then win on the last drive of the game, whether it be by a go ahead score or a defensive stop. There was no excuse for having such a dominant offense that only scores 3 points every time. If we can fix that, then hopefully we can start pulling away from teams instead of relying on the last drive so much like we did last year.
The schedule argument is false. 60 percent of the teams last year who had the easiest schedules had Winning seasons. Teams with the hardest schedules in the top 10 had winning seasons at a 50% clip. The common reason why both teams won or Lost Regardless of schedule was because of the QB play. Hardest Schedules for 2023 1 Eagles (playoffs) 11-6 2 Dolphins (playoffs) 11-6 3 Patriots (Trash) 4 Cowboys (Division Title Playoffs) 12-5 5 Giants (Trash) 6 Jets (trash) 7 Bills (Division + Playoffs) 11-6 8 Commanders (Trash 9 Rams (Playoffs) 10-7 10 Raiders (Trash Weakest Schedules 2023 22 Buc (Division Title + Playoffs) 9-8 23 Jags 9-8 24 Packers (Playoffs) 10-7 25 Steelers (Playoffs) 10-7 26 Browns (Playoffs) 11-6 27 Panthers (UTTER 🚮) 28 Titans (TRASH) 29 Colts 9-8 30 Texans (Division Title + playoffs) 31 Saints (trash) 32 Falcons (trash) Common theme you have a QB and HC you win regardless of schedule
@@AyushKhanapure Ejero Evero is one of the best defensive coordinators in the league. Henderson was like the only guy on our defense who didn’t improve under him
Texans have Autry, Barnett, and Horton coming off the edge behind Hunter and Will. and their interior defensive line is way more stout against the run. Ravens bullied Collins and Rankins in that middle and we got overall bigger. it won't be a problem
I've followed him for years and yes he did say that. He wasn't saying they were gonna win a title just that they were gonna be alot better than people were projecting them at the time.
@theGOATHouse what issues does Stroud have to work worth in his second year? Health on offense. How long until Diggs becomes a distraction? He'll demand his looks. Defensive health? Snap% for Anderson. What were his numbers at Bama? Can the IDL get a push on passing downs. Rankins and Collins could; just poor run defenders. LB can they cover??? Harris work in progress. Can al- Azeez cover? As good as Cashman? Secondary Cover 3 majority of the time??? Bulloch start at FS??? Dime package Lasstier, Ward and Bulloch deep?
@@vaughnwalker9473finally getting the recognition we deserve although our run defense is hit and miss and we can’t account for running QBs either. Think with kubiak coming in that was our main struggle AK hasn’t been utilised correctly since SP “retired” Pete was terrible only ever here to keep the continuity with drew from the chargers
Top 3 rush defense last year until week 18 when JT became the 1st 100 yd rusher they allowed all year. Still finished top 6 in rush defense but you make some good points. I think some of the pieces they brought in to replace what they lost is actually better for the rush defense though so it could be even better. I can't see it not being top 5-10 this season
Ravens and Chiefs I can understand but they already best the Bengals last year with a worse roster and yes.. Burrow played in that game and actually balled out and the Texans still won. Miami's offense could probably keep pace with Houston's offense but their defense isn't as good.
@@ybmsimba2410 Don't sleep on Burton for the Bengals.. Dolphins defense might be just as good as Houston after signing Poyer & drafted a good edge rusher too.
@@juant7120 Yeah but the Texans added two double digit sack artists in Hunter(16.5) and Autry(11.5) and a LB in Azeez that was top 5 in tackles. The corner they drafted from GA is pretty good too and combined with Stingley could be a really good CB tandem meanwhile MIA lost Xavien Howard and Wilkins who was their best defensive linemen is now a Raider. They play each other this year so we'll find out but that game is likely a shootout and whoever defense can get a few stops could decide it. Bengals will be back in the mix for sure but I have them at #4 behind Houston given the recent matchup and how much better the Texans are now(at least on paper) than the team that already beat Cincy in the Jungle.
I dnt think you can call the Texans underrated at this point. Everyone and their mama is d riding them all the way to their superbowl pick. They really are getting quite overrated considering they put up no resistance whatsoever against the Ravens (Not to discredit their amazing emergence last year in the regular season)
@AlwaysUp50 First of all,the ravens stadium was cold as hell, they lost tank dell so the really only had nico collins so really that was bound to happen, this year it will be different
