Underrated Rogues: The Shade 

I think he would've been a better Green Lantern villain than a Flash one. Darkness versus light and magic versus science would've been more interesting.

I only saw the shade in Justice League unlimited. And in that show he was definitely creepy and cool. He sounds awesome!!! I'm definitely liking him.

I’ve been fascinated by the Shade ever since I saw him in the Justice League cartoon. And he was cool in Young Justice too. He certainly has potential to be bigger

The Shade has been one of my favorite DC characters since my friend introduced me to that character years ago and i'd LOVE the idea of a Shade movie or series, whichever i'd love it! He's such an underrated character!

Shade is such a great character and hopefully he will appear more frequently in the future. I love this new segment of yours, as there are many underrated villains in comics. Here are my suggestions 4 future videos: Count Vertigo, Dr Polaris, Dr Psycho, the Brian and Mallah and the Vulture (if you decide to do spider man rogues).

Suggested underrated villains for next video: Gentleman Ghost, Mirror Master or Onomatopoeia.

And 3 years later, we are getting him as the main villain for Stargirl season 2.

Shade has got to be the greatest example of how to successfully retcon a character. His first 4 issue limited series was great! With issues 2/3 being my favorites. Showing his relationships with Brian 'Scalphunter' Savage and Jay Garrick

He’s great in young justice, justice league unlimited and star girl, and he’s had some great comic stories where he’s more rogue and anti hero than anything he cares about wealth and the health of the world at large, he’d stop a planetary threat and line his pockets while doing it

My vote for a future underrated/forgotten rogue: Magpie

A lot of the underrated rogues, one-shot villains, or cheesy villains we love to hate have been new life through the Suicide Squad series. Especially in the first run of Suicide Squad in the 80's, those corny, themed villain groups, were given back stories, expanded, or simply killed in a satisfyingly brutal fashion by the Suicide Squad. The best examples were the Cadre (JLA enemy), the Force of July, and the People's Heroes (Batman and the Outsiders enemies).

The Shade definitely needs more love. He is among my top 10 favorite Flash rogues too.

THE SHADE= One cool ass dude!! His Blackest Night mini story was absolutely epic. And so was the one where some villain tried to recruit him and he lol'd his ass out the door. i like him!

The Shade made another live-action debut in the amazing Stargirl series in 2020-2023. This version is the Richard Swift who was originally a thief and conman employed by a cabal called the Men of Tears in the 1800s. By 20th century, he aligned himself with the Injustice Society of America (ISA) as part of a "temporary arrangement" despite viewing its leader Icicle as insane. Shade joined the ISA in attacking the Justice Society of America (JSA), during which he pretended to fight and attempted to save Doctor Mid-Nite, but accidentally lost him in the Shadowland. He decided to help the JSA in one of their battles and joined them later on.

I'd love to see you do some Daredevil comics and villains.

Great an informative video! My only knowledge of this character comes from clips and reading up on him. Now one of my favorite characters of anything including non DC and non comic book characters.

I'm putting my votes in for Gentleman Ghost, Lady Shiva, and Clock King.

Shade appears as a main character in Stargirl season 2, likely further being a key mentor for S3, you got your wish.

I did have a list of rogues here with explanations for why I think they're underrated, but I lost it, so I'll do a quick summary: The Top: Underrated member of the rogues and deserves more representation than a gender-flip from the TV Show. Zzzax: Amazing Hulk villain, has a cool power-set, and deserves more representation in other media. Doctor Sivana: The Golden-Age arch-enemy for the Big Red Cheese that got unfairly sidelined by Black Adam and never recovered. Anyway, the Flash Rebirth comics with Shade are great, and are very enjoyable to read. Edit: You know what would be a great idea for a new series? Television Relics, which would centre on characters introduced specifically for a TV show and never crossed into the comics, and at the end you could talk about how you think that character could be handled within the comic continuity. Just a thought.

I feel like White Rabbit, Jane Doe, Great White Shark, Orca, Birthday Boy, Humpty Dumpy, Professor Pyg, Mr. Bloom, and Ratcatcher are underrated batman villains. I'm not expecting videos of all of them though.

You don't hold back, do you, Mr. Rogues? "Scared & incompetent" are the words you used to describe Warner Brothers & DC... And I'd have to agree - in the right hands, "The Shade", in animated or live action movie form, could be a blockbuster.

Batman's rogues are my favorite. Flash's are my second-favorite, but I really don't think Flash should have as much trouble defeating them as he seems to have.

just came up on Shade yesterday when I went to a small store chain. I always go to Barnes and Nobles and Books A Million and they only have main characters. this place (besides batman) had only properties I had never seen. I would love this character to be shown in a major movie or show. his powers would allow him to beat many characters.

Shade recently appeared in Young Justice season 3: Outsiders Episode 8 "Triptych".

I can't wait to see how the shade character is gonna play on the cw stargirl because I saw the shade version on the flash..but I'm also stoked how the shade and eclipso is gonna play on stargirl also

Would recommend a character review of Despayre! A great but Underrated Marvel Comics Supernatural villain! He has a great visual design and has made classic appearances In Marvel Team Up and the X-MEN!

I'd say a Shade horror movie where he is in the shadows hunting someone or something would be a good idea. A supernatural horror movie above all. Using shadows and darkness in contrast with light both thematically and natively. The big thing is that superhero moves are not what I think of when I think Shade. I think horror, wit, and suspense. Not over the top action( not to say he couldn't pull that off). A devil that would sit down to drink tea with you just the same as hang you by your neck. Or slit it. A gentleman killer who has his own code.

I think he once teamed up with his fellow flash villian rainbow raider even helped the flash against the raider
