Have you tried making your own cores brother? I plan on making my own magnet core by saturating epoxy resin with iron filings thinking the end result will be similar to that of cast iron. I'm making magnets not transformers. It's very difficult to find or make cores the shape we want but with epoxy, iron fillings and a mold it should be easy. Wish me luck lol ❤🙏
@daviddavids2884
@daviddavids2884 3 года назад
i Guess you are talking about ELECTRO-magnets. you have described 'poor-boy' Ferrite.! the granular structure of ferrite eliminates eddy currents. at the same time, that material simply does not transmit/conduct magnetic Fields/flux as well as a mostly solid piece of iron or mild steel. googletranslate
@DaVeHiLl200
@DaVeHiLl200 3 года назад
@@daviddavids2884 yes that's the stuff although I've never heard it be call that. Time will tell. Iron oxide is rubbish apparently but I'm using fine iron filings not the larger filings, I figure it will saturate the epoxy better. Laminated iron is best isn't it?

Cool video man...finally understood hysteresis losses...usually they make us tell laminated cores reduce hysteresis losses and all..but finally it is the alternating nature of AC which first needs to be taught for the reason of hysteresis... So essentially the magnetic energy is stored only around the square frame.. and not the ferrite cores ..right...because you had removed those cores without getting electrocuted... correct me If I am wrong.. great work man..next time please use some protective gear while explaining during live experiments...
@daviddavids2884
@daviddavids2884 3 года назад
there is NO 'energy stored' anywhere. the Design and operation of a transformer are More complicated than you think.! a transformer works because there is Variation in the input signal. such variation is either an oscillation or Pulsation. in the latter case, (pulsating) DC power can be stepped up or down, with a transformer. as was stated, the properties of ferrite Limit its utility. googletranslate

Let me get this straight, ******I need, someone, to correct me if I'm wrong please******. if we used Ferrite or Iron as a core, the core would turn into a magnet as soon as a small current is induced inside the coil? but the difference is, iron would absorb a lot more current from the coil than ferrite, generate more heat, and the magnetic field caused by the Iron core is weaker than that of the ferrite ??
