I took Zoloft in my 20s and was fine. When I was 56 I was diagnosed with cancer and became extremely depressed due to number of health issues. I took half the recommended dose of Zoloft started feeling great after four weeks and then I was hit with SSRI syndrome. It just about killed me it caused permanent damage to my neurological system. It’s been 2 1/2 years and I have not improved. I have difficulty walking and numbness all over my body . At the time of the attack, I had full body muscle spasms. I would fall down on the ground, and I had severe Parkinson like trimming for 3 to 4 months after the event.
Excellent explanations and appreciated the videos of inducible and spontaneous clonus. Also ocular versus nystagmus. Wonderful stuff, have donated and am looking forward to your courses!
I took fluoxetine for 20 years. My psychologist told me to keep continue on 80 mg. Then my psychologist told me it wasn't serotonin syndrome. My Gp said it was. I went straight to the chemis, and they gave me antihistamines straight away.
So I experienced what I THINK was a very minor serotonin syndrome and I would like your opinion. I was on Trintillex 10mg and had just started Vyvanse 20mg, I was also in the process of weaning off suboxone. My main symptoms were excessive sweating and short 5 second bursts of euphoria followed by dysphoria. It was the winter time but I would be at work literally dripping with sweat, like I wore a bandana and could ring out the sweat at the end of the day. I know amphetamine is a partial 5ht1a agonist and Trintillex is a full 5ht1a agonist. It stopped when I stopped the Trintillex, and I've been on Zoloft and Vyvanse for 2 years now and haven't had that happen again. Thoughts??
Hello, hope this is an answerable question. If my serotonin syndrome was as bad as spontaneous clonus, leading to leg nerve neropothy, does it cause brain damage? I know I had a fever and was pretty much insane, but is it reversible brain damage? If that even exists. I understand the damage comes from mainly heating the brain, but would my brain repair? I was 16 when I had this, I don't know if that would change anything. Does it cause a lot of brain damage? does the brain repair? My doctor didn't give much of an answer to any of these questions. I understand if I don't get much of an answer, is there anything I can do to help heal my brain at all? Thank you for your content I've been subscribed for a little while now and just saw this video!
Take vitamin B complex pills and Aspirin daily. Also Magnesium and Potassium supplements. Do it for at least 3 weeks to see results. Also walking daily, somewhat faster. Spending time on a mountain and breathing that air super charged with oxygen does wonders for brain cell renewal.
It heals over time. I took 10 mdma pills in 2018 at a work party and overloaded my brain with serotonin. It’s slowly getting better, but it has made me more agitated and stand-off towards people that push my buttons, that’s the main side effect. But I see it as a good thing bc I used to let people walk all over me
