Im am a triple AAA survivor,mine ruptured at the gym I suffered a stroke during surgery,I woke up 2wks later,After 3months in the hospital,all I can say is that i am blessed, to have great doctor's and physical therapist that got me though alot,to where im able to regain feeling on my left side again.

Had mine repaired 4 years ago when it got to just under 6. Got lucky when it showed up on a ct scan for kidney stones. I was in having it repaired within weeks of them finding it. I was only in my 50's. Everything went great. Spent 5 days in ICU and went home on the 6th day. It took about 12 weeks to fully recover.

My mom had an abdominal aortic aneurysm that they found while doing another surgery on her abdomen and had she not been under surgery she could’ve easily died because she had no idea she had it and it was getting ready to rupture they caught it just in time thank God for the other surgery

I had an abdominal aorta anurism that busted. I had to have 2 surgeries the drs. Told me I was a miracle.

Woah that’s crazy i’m glad you’re alive.. what did it feel like and what happened when it burst? and how long did it last before you went to the hospital? I don’t want to be right but i think that when i ruptured my spleen it was so severe that they couldn’t further diagnosis any of my other internal injuries (aortic injury.. or more) in the time i was rushed into surgery and that was the core issue of everyone’s attention but as a miracle my red blood cell count stabilized and they didn’t do any more scans afterwards to observe my organs. i have strange symptoms and plan to get it looked at obviously but i’m so scared to swallow that if it’s what’s going on, i just don’t feel ready or strong enough. hope you’re doing well though lol :)

I've had a aortic aneurysm and ime only 17 but it's only 4.3 so yk I'll live my life till my fullest but I can't get it removed cuz of other medical problems. I can assure you that this guy's info is to point and it's the most accurate video on RU-vid in my opinion. Keep doing ur stuff bro 😄

Last year I was told I had a 3.05, this year he told me I had 1) 3.50, 1) at 4.06 & 1) at 5.52 ??? in one year ??? ST SCAN in three weeks.

Failed to mention I have had Cardiomyopathy for 30 years, 3 lower bypass surgery including one lateral, one stint to the widowmaker, I guess it's just another surgery soon ??

I wonder if this only affects smokers or if ppl on cholesterol lowering drugs might have a higher probability of this condition? Are patients deficient in vitamin k or given supplements like k2 or coenzyme q10 to repair the integrity of the artery? What is the typical treatment for this condition aside from smoking secession?

If the aneurysm is 3-4cm ...why not repair it right then... what u watching it for.

Hi Brittany. At that size the aneurysm is considered to be "low risk" in the short term. Elective surgery for this can be tough going, so you'd rather save that until it's necessary rather than early when there's no imminent danger Someone could have an aneurysm of, for example, 3.4cm, and 10 years later it will only have grown to 4cm. How quickly they grow is really luck of the draw

If there are Marfan or EDS, the dilation is reduced because of there genetic connective tissue disorder, which should been added, but other that good

I have Marfan Syndrome. Experienced the absolute worst shooting pain in my back that came around to my lower abdomen. Had CT scan and that's how my AAA was found. Currently controlling growth with several hypertension medications.

I'm a nurse and I hada patient pass away this past week.he was dealing with leg ischemia. The vascular dr signed off and said it was his leg causing the ischemia. On day shift after I went home he died suddenly. Is this the vascular dr fault? Should they have known to investigate above the leg? I looked in my nursing notes book and said leg ischemia is a sign of a triple a but that was not mentioned in your video.

I read somewhere, or watched a RU-vid video that in the event of a rupture of the aorta that a balloon catheter can be fed up via a femoral vein to occlude the aorta. Is this a procedure possible in the emergency setting in UK?

The reason mortality is so high is that when it ruptures you bleed out internally very rapidly. So there is a chance someone can be saved but more often than not they just aren't getting into hospital/surgery in time.

I had one done 5 / 2017 and I have a 16 inch scar to prove it ! -- Still here @ 74 yesterday. -- Was 67.5 when done. - - - Appears now to have come back revealed 6 months ago @ 5.6 requiring a closer look to assess another potential repair. Contrast for detail should allow for a good look and hopefully lead to a repair from the inside. I have heard it said that it can be repaired inside the artery 90+ % of the time. -- That's the good news - but - the bad news comes from the contrast putting my kidneys at further risk from the 50% function left from the previous surgery ! -?- An apparent necessary evil ?!?

I have pulsing under my left ripcage often and I’m worried also have nausea and stomach sickness after meals for almost two months and esophagus pain was diagnosed with gerd , indigestion I take itopride meds to help with eating .tests done : hbylori negative, celiac negative, blood urine says normal , stool says indigestion, stomach scan says gastritis and the scan was for the stomach .help please I’m worried

US here 73 yo hubby just found out he has an AAA (small) he had no risk factors had blood in urine so had an abdominal scan where they found it ruling out cancer This video states ALL UK men are routinely screened for AAA after age 65 Wish we lived in the UK … our Medicare won’t even screen for it unless something else is going on and it’s found accidentally Kudos to UK !!

Most people die here because of the er are so over crowded and the trauma systems are now staged by inexperienced triage techs who don’t know what to look for , I know several who have died from triple a because of this stupid triage system here now
