I have understood compound path for a while, but never been really good at explaining them to others. After watching your wonderful video, I will be sending them to you. Thank you.
You are an amazing teacher! I totally understand what you explained. I’m a newbie and I’m needing help on making a SQUARE picture ROUND to fit into a clock template where the numbers on the clock show on said picture for sublimation.... I hope I explained that correctly. TIA
Hi Michelle! Thank you for your kind words! To make the picture round, draw a circle with the drawing tools and then crop the image. Are the numbers for the clock already part of the image? If not, you can type out the numbers and then draw a circle and use it to guide the placement of the text. (I hope that makes sense.) An alternative to cropping the picture is to cut the image into a circle like I did in this post: caughtbydesign.com/2017/12/15/floating-photo-ornament/ Or you could “drag & drop” the image into a circle shape like I did in this post: caughtbydesign.com/2019/07/11/photo-projects-in-silhouette-studio-made-easy/ I hope this helps!
@@CaughtbyDesign thank you so much I’m going to try this in the morning I’ll let you know how it comes out...keep up the good work newbies like me need you 😁
If and when you have time, maybe you can make a video on edit points, nodes and how to take a broken circle and close it so that it will cut properly. Adjoining the two red dots, can't figure this out ...
Thank you for the suggestion, Lillian! I will add that to my list of upcoming video topics. In the meantime, here's the 'quick answer' if you want to give it a try: click on one of the red dots, hold your mouse button down, and drag the red dot over until it touches the second red dot in the open path. The two dots should act like magnets and merge into one node. Hope this helps!
