Guide on how design works, with a suggested upgrade path at the end. Think I covered most of the stuff if I have missed something feel free to let me know, and feel free to ask if there is anything unclear.
Will be updating the pinned comment with the information.

This game is still in alpha. I think in 2026 we will have a good one. There is still no mechanical failure in the game, no control electronics and other parts that apply grid penalty. But the most insane thing that I find is if you simulate practice your drivers don't crash anymore during simulation. Cuz I used to do practice on manual but after that mother trucker Albon destroyed two cars in p1 and p3 I only used simulation after.

Thanks for this essential video. Can you explain HOW what the AI strategies are in this game? How does the AI approach the FP, Q and the race? Has it changed a lot in comparison to last years game?
@NeroBax
@NeroBax Год назад
For Quali the AI will now send the cars out more randomly as they are looking for good windows which makes Qualifying a bit more chaotic. For the race itself the AI will push fuel/ERS/Attack at the start of the race for a few laps, and use it as they see fit for the remaining race, they will be proactive in pitting behind safety cars even with 70% or higher tyres if they think they will see a benefit. So the AI has had drastic improvements compared to 22 to make them far more competitive. They will still use damaged parts, but the impact of the damaged parts has been drastically lessened, where a yellow engine will cost you about a tenth a lap vs. half a second it did in 22.

just a quick question, so if we design any part and if we even always choose intense design does it count to the "actual" part that we're designing or it gives those "buffs" to the next one?
@Mike_Takumi
@Mike_Takumi Год назад
The expertise gain will be applied to the next part
@Takhar7
@Takhar7 Год назад
The expertise gains from using intense, would only take effect once you designed the "next" part, not the one being designed under intense. Remember, each newly designed part uses the expertise of the engineers at the beginning of the design stage

Quick question: where should you initially spend your wind tunnel and cfd hours at the start of a new career? Does it make a true difference
@NeroBax
@NeroBax Год назад
I'd probably use the first couple ATR periods on the underfloor to develop a good base to work on the rest of the car from.

You can make specialized parts no problem, as parts will get equal expertise in all categories from design. Because of this you can safely make as specialized parts as you want no problem.
@juanantoniodominguezsangui1459
hello a question Approximately how many designs do you advise to make of each piece in a season?

Mainly dependent on your money and regulations. You want to have 100% slot uptime for your design/research slot.

Top speed isn't that important for the car, you will have more benefit from being quicker in the corners. As long as you make up for the loss of top speed with DRS gains you should be fine.

Hi How can we improve acceleration? You said “ its not important “ but i just wonder.
@NeroBax

Acceleration will be mainly down to your engine choice, other than that it is drag reduction/airflow on other parts that will help with it.

@NeroBax
@NeroBax Год назад
It's made with a deeper understanding on how things work, the video 8 days ago overvalued I'd say the intense development for 1, but it is generally a video made with a much better understanding of development than the one before.

what is a diffrence between airflow and airflow sensivity ?
@NeroBax
@NeroBax 8 месяцев назад
Downforce airflow refers your cars ability to handle corners. Airflow sensitivity refers to the cars ability to follow other cars without losing pace.

I just started and I was wondering if the durability have got an update since the video and if you can do the same thing for every car?
@NeroBax
@NeroBax 11 месяцев назад
Durability has gotten a small tweak but as long as your factory is lv 3 you will mostly be fine and I'd say the performance gain is worth the lower lifetime. Front wings you might wanna consider upping a little bit on the durability.

I might have missed it, but after this, do we keep the sliders the same or?

No matter how you put your sliders, you will get just as much expertise for a maxed slider as you will for a minimum slider, so making specialized parts is definitively possible.

Do driver salaries go into the Cost Cap?
@Mike_Takumi
@Mike_Takumi Год назад
Race Engineers, Sporting Director, and scout/pit/engineer teams all count against the cap, all other drivers and staff do not count
@mattymansion2722
@mattymansion2722 Год назад
Yes they do, but I wouldn't worry about going over as long as you can pay the fines and no go into debt the board don't care. As long as you are on target for the bored objectives
@NeroBax
@NeroBax Год назад
Driver salaries are exempt from the cost cap, and by the looks of it so are your two most expensive staff members. In the Alpha Tauri save we are paying 3.145.000 to the cost cap for staff salaries, which adds up to our 3 cheapest members contracts. So drivers + 2 most expensive staff members should not have an effect on your cost cap.
@fsconsultantcy2559
@fsconsultantcy2559 Год назад
If you could cary 13 kgs less fuel ,wouldn't you ? FOR THIS REASON always develope the side pods and chassis first then the underfloor you can save 3 kgs on the underfloor and 5von the other two each, then do the other parts before any repeats ,20 kgs is worth so much and this should be first target !! Only then choose your path
@NeroBax
@NeroBax Год назад
That is not how weight saving works. These cars weigh a minimum of 798 kgs. Removing 20kg or less than 2,5% of the weight will not allow you to cut your fuel usage by 10+%. The main thing you will get from cutting weight is part performance.
