I appreciate how "interactive" this educational (and very entertaining) video was. It's cool how you asked questions, gave us time to "answer" and then even had a slow-mo playback and play-by-play edits 👍 very cool. Great job. Professional and intuitive🐶🐾

I want to add something interesting that I saw a few years ago from the university of Milan, Italy, where they did a study on 'tail talk'. Dog was placed in a large box facing the only window, and cameras were recording the tail from all angles. The would parade a variety of people and things in front of the window, including his owner, friends, acquaintances, uniformed, strange dogs, cats, doggy friends etc...and what they discovered was, the tail actually has a language. It would do exactly the same thing when seeing owner, which is tail spins like a propeller or stranger, the tail only goes from centre to left wag. I wish I had a link to share this with you. I think you would like it. I wish the same study could be made with ears as well. :)

Many many dogs are overweight and under exercised. Dogs used to have a job in the past meaning they had something to do but like the horse a dogs job isn't what it use to be. Even way back in their family tree they had a job in the pack, they were needed and they loved their job. I have a service dog named Garth he's with me general everywhere I go save certain locations he's not a load too (court room) or environments that might endanger him and others. Even with that Garth and I go on 30-40 minute walks every day, play at the park (tricks), hike and or go to the beach every other weekend. When I am unable, too sick or in pain to play Garth is understanding and for those occasions he lays with me or chews his bone (deer antler). Advice to keep your dog happy, walk them, train them and play the earlier the better. Lead your dog. A lot of people don't understand that Garth is a very happy and healthy dog--he and rather dogs in general like doing stuff!! Be kind to your puppy socialize them, take them out to see new things, train them, play with them, pet them, talk to them in your normal voice, happy voice and bad voice (Micky Mouse for positive and Schwarzenegger voice for negative) please don't yell or hit your dog and let them sleep this will help them. Socialize puppy with other puppies and places, train them (command them like a two year old), play, pet and sleep. Ask your vet how much to feed them and what to feed them. Garth loves salmon and sweet potato from Merrick. Lastly walk in the morning before their breakfast, same with any activity wait for at least 45 minutes after eating before the stimulus. Never never play or encourage play after eating. Bloat or a turned stomach is a very common cause of death for dogs.

I just discovered your videos. New subscriber here ! Body language in dogs is so often missed because it is so often subtle. Humans don't recognize what the dog is "saying" until it has escalated into a problem. Thank you for making this clear. Dogs are the one animal on this earth that is genetically predisposed to want to be with us. The least we can do is attempt to learn their language.

These videos are awesome. A good understanding of dog body language could prevent a large number of dog bite incidents. As someone who has owned a 130lb Olde English Bulldogge and has worked with/had a fascination with large so-called "aggressive" dogs, I have found being able to read a dogs body language to be an invaluable tool. Thanks for the content.

Check out Australian Shepherds. Many are born with naturally cropped tails and nearly all of them have quite small ears: it is just part of the breed's characteristics. And if they had difficulty turning, they probably wouldn't make good herding/working dogs. :o)

I watched Part 1 and Part 2 for the first time when we just got our puppy three months ago, re-watching them again today since I need re-learning all of these again! I think it's really easy to mirror people's feelings into our dogs' behaviours and it's just not the way to go. "Oh, they're just playing. Let kids be kids." "No, one of them is actually really stressed out". Really love your videos, it helps me how to be the best person to my dog

I see a lot of this behavior in my schnauzer/poodle mix. She was bit pretty badly a couple years back and still has anxiety issues around other dogs (she tends to distrust and fear all other dogs now sadly). Great video to help me understand some of what she's going through. I will be interested in seeing some of this in her behavior when I take her for a walk tomorrow. She loves going for a walk, but almost as soon as we're outside, she starts whining, even when there are no other dogs around. She sniffs around at bushes and other places a lot, and I notice that her legs are shaking as she's doing this.

I find interesting how animals can tell the moods we are in. Not by learning the indicators of our behavior but by feeling our energy. That’s why we cannot hide behind our behavior and that’s why they get confused when we are not consistent. Animals are the best teachers.

First of all; thanks for making such informative videos for us to learn by. The visual "video clips" and narration including slow motion are most helpful. I personally don't respond well to instructors who read notes while showing the notes scroll past. No two people are going to read at the same rate. The exact parroting of what is scrolling (reading your written notes) is disruptive to me getting your message. I like to listen to your voice, while video is playing. But in general I think your very good presentations would be further enhanced if there were less showing exactly what your telling. Does that make sense? Keep them coming Kristin I'm learning from you and my dog lives better because of it. Many thanks
