I am loving this. As a therapist, and a humanist, y try to focus on the emotional triggers and past experiences, rather than trying to simplify it as "this behavior needs to increase and this other behavior needs to decrease". Great video.

Excellent discussion of EFT. I thought the discussion about unmet attachment needs and how they are triggered by the visible or surfance reactions/behaviors was particularly well done.

need to feel safe, heard, understood, cared for, accepted, valued.. those seem to me like very different needs, but somehow you put them all under one umbrella of attachment. can you help me understand your logic?

This is just my opinion but it all falls under security safety when you think of safety you think of safety physically which is true but also emotionally to be safe you need to feel heard accepted and cared for falls under security because if you don't have that security of being able to open up and have communication you need to feel safe enough to do so I'll provide an example

Let's say Ivan and Rose are in therapy because Ivan had given the ultimatum of getting a divorce because rose won't and is not interested in sex ... but rose didn't have the security to tell her partner that she was sexually assaulted and she has a hard time with sex..that all falls under security..she didn't feel comfortable enough to tell him..which then leads to the symptoms of not wanting to have sex and now it daunts him and he wants a divorce but when you look at the lens it wasn't about sex for either of them... possibly it was security he wants to feel secure in his relationship and feel like he's attractive to her she wants to speak to him but she probably struggled in the past talking about her rape someone may have made her feel less understood valued accepted which leads into a loss of security and comfort.. I know it's a lot it's better said aloud then typed but yeah
