Just had a Foxess inverter fitted, waiting for the batteries. I'm so pleased you're share thus stuff. It's fascinating although I'm on a v steep learning curve.
Thank you for the video, i have just had two 2.5 kwt batteries fitted, the fitter had no understanding of the fox cloud app,and was unable to explain to me any of the strange readings it was displaying . I am total none savvy with modern technology, excellent video thanks.
Fabulous, I feel lucky to have stumbled on this, now a subscriber, as it answered many questions definitively. No system walkthrough from my installers. The Yield figures on my system conflates battery output and solar output as one, is there a way of obtaining a daily solar yield only?
You are a superb explainer but thought you'd walk us through the Fox app as I really don't get the negative values thing and their labelling is confusing.
Aside from the main subject of this video, could you explain why your output power shown on the lower graph is showing as a minus. I ask this because I get the same issue when my SoC setting gets to the set 20% value where it remains for less than 2 hrs and then it will drop to 15%. At that point it charges from the grid even though the software settings do not tell it to. This results in the same pattern you have with increased grid consumption which could be at peak rate (after 7am), until the SOC setting is back at 20%.
Is there any configuration for the internal Residual Current Device? In the manual they state it can be lowered mA to prevent external RCD trips, but no instructions on how/where to do it. 🤔
@@iameccles it seems RU-vid blocks comments with links. My model is H1-6.0-E-G2, and they mention it on page 3, last sentence of manual "H1(G2)/AC1(G2) SERIES". Regarding mV, I corrected that to mA, my bad.
Great video. Would appreciate if you could show the modbus box. I'm thinking about to use a rs-485 usb stick on the raspi / home assistant or to go with the usr-10 wifi box. Would be greate if you could share your setup / thoughts!
Thanks for this video, it is very useful. I have my system installed, however, I see Output power and Feed-in-power increase and decreasing at the same time when sun is up. And my battery doesn't discharge when I use the dishwasher and washing machine in the evening. For some reason the inverter doesn't see the load and it always use the grid. Any suggestion?
@@Sbrandollo Hi, could you explain a bit more what you found with CT clamp - is this the clamp on the incoming mains lead (CAT connects there), thanks, Mike
Hi recently had Fox 5Kw Inverter and Fox 8.64Kwh Battery storage....I don't think I am understanding the battery usage correctly as we seem to go from 100 percent battery mid afternoon and then in the morning it will be 20 percent,...our daily usage is nowhere close to 8Kwh so I don't understand why the batteries are discharging....the only thing I can find is the LED status light on the slave beneath the Master battery is showing 'green light on half a second then LED light goes off for 3-4 seconds then green light on for half a second".....There's nothing in the manual to explain this LED status, only that normal battery LED status should be 'LED green light on for half a second, LED light off for half a second'...........any ideas please ?
Unless it’s in alarm state and refusing to discharge everything is fine. First thing to check is that you’re on the latest firmware for your bms and batteries
Hi Ian, your videos are very helpful. I have what appears to be an issue or incorrect setting. I am using a Fox ESS 5kw hybrid with about 8 kw cube batteries. I have taken a snap shot of my app which shows the following data: PV supply: 2.343kw, to battery 0.720kw, to house 0.346kw and to grid 1.175kw. I have the inverter set to self use, I.E. feed house, battery, grid. Why am i showing a large grid export when my batteries are only showing about 35% charged? Any advice appreciated.
I am on fox ess system hybrid inverter is it possible to force discharge ,I am on octopus flux and I would like to discharge now and then to get the extra pennies?
Just had a FoxEss 6.0 hybrid inverter fitted with s solar panels, downloaded app for my desktop which works fine but cant get my head around the power graphs i.e.feed in power, discharge power etc. Any advice would be appreciated.Thank you.
Hi new to this and I don’t understand something. I have brought a 6kW system 1 month ago but the max is showing on the graphics is 3.6 kW. Is this normal not to reach higher values ?
Hi, @samandesilva5421, I gave exactly the same system setting as you and exactly the same issues, did you get to resolve the problem with the same meter readings? I've had mine for 2 weeks now.
Et comment fait on quand les données ne sont pas remontées ? Alors que le dongle WiFi est bien reconnu ! Le SAV visiblement aux abonnés absents, sauf pour le pipotage. Très déçu !
