The engine efficiency may degrade when flying at higher altitudes but there are no separate oxygen tanks for the engines. Oxygen is not required for engines as long as they are within the Earth's atmosphere.
@@JxJAVIATION oxygen is required for combustion of the fuel but the compressors in the jet engine sufficiently compress the outside air to increase thrust and concentrate oxygen required for combustion. Look into how a Turbofan engine works to understand this. Turbofans use propeller and jet engine technology.
5:50 in case of fire in the cockpit, when pilots use O2 from the portable cylinder which might be available at some aircraft--> they are going to put themselves in a danger--> O2 is one of 3 elements of fire, oxygen cylinder, in that case, should be away from any source of the fire. I do not get this video. It does not make any sense to me
If the fire is in the cockpit, there are portable fire extinguishers that are used to extinguish the fire. Fire could most likely occur in the Cockpit Avionics Bay and not directly in the cockpit but will lead to smoke inside the cockpit, so the crew have to use the oxygen masks. The oxygen cylinder will provide oxygen to the masks and not be supplying oxygen to the fire!
@@JxJAVIATION the Crew in the cockpit uses the oxygen from the Fixed oxygen system (QDM) The part about FIRE in the cockpit and usage of oxygen from portable cylinders is chaotic and kind of misleading. I would modify that part of the video 🎥 to be more precise Bests
@@natashka123able There is a single portable oxygen cylinder that can be used in case of fire inside the cockpit and one of the crew member has to get up and fight the fire.
@@JxJAVIATION I see the scenario of him leaving the seat and approaching the fire, but in that case shouldn't he use the smoke hood for his protection instead of portable oxygen cylinder ( approaching the fire 🔥 while having oxygen bottle strapped and portable fire extinguisher 🧯in hand - it seems to be kind if insane) At the end I am not sure if we are talking about the same things 😄
