I’ll throw in my 5 cents: effective edge is a quite important spec. It basically tells you how much of an edge you will use to turn or stop on a groomed run. Knowing effective edge you need for your weight lets you to choose a proper board no matter what shape or profile it has. Picking a board size by effective edge is in many cases more accurate than manufacturer’s weight recommendations.
@@-Jasen- This is based on experience, of course. E.g. comparing the effective edge of any board with your current one, you can definitely tell will it feel looser and surfier (less effective edge) or more precise and grippy (more effective edge), even if the boards are the same size.
im 5'2, i ordered a 135 cm board. im in its weight range, and its wide enough for my foot? im wondering if its too big because 135 cm just seems kinda small
I never rode a wide board in my life, but my regular artifact 153 has a 25.5cm waist width. Im thinking about getting the DOA in a 153W which has a 25.6cm waist. Why is my artifact not considered a wide board? FYI, my binding and boots on my 153cm Artifact fit perfectly. I could go with a 154cm DOA, but the waist is only 25cm.
Some boards are considered a mid wide so they don't label them as wide specific, that's why it's important to check the full list of specs if you understand them
Hi looking for some advice, I snowboard with a group of ski goons. I'm looking for an aggressive camber board that isn't going to hold me back. From what I've read I'm looku g at a custom or custom x. I've been snowboarding for 16 years and I want you to say go for the custom x💪😂😂 Thanks in advance.
Custom X is very aggressive but it's a lot of board so it's not for everybody. The Custom is good but it's not too aggressive. If you haven't seen it check out the Capita Mega Merc, it's a charger of a board and it's what I was riding this year.
Little late I’m sure you picked up a board by now. I know you may really like burton but Jones puts out a more aggressive camber profile than a lot of other brands on their mid to high end boards. Granted they are very similar to the custom x profile.
I need some advice on if it would be worth getting a new snowboard. I’m going on a couple snowboarding trips this year (Beaver Creek Colorado 1 week & Blue Mountain Ontario weekend) with friends. I haven’t been on a board in quite a while, But pretty confident I’ll be able to pick it up again quick enough. I was gifted a K2 Anagram Wide 159cm. After doing some research for this trip It seems like this isn’t really the right setup for my size (5’9” 150lb Size10 US Boot). Do you think I’d be fine with this? Or am I over thinking it. Will it being too wide hold be back from progressing? I’m looking at possibly picking up a Salomon Assassin 2023 156cm board for the trip and future trips.
I wouldn't have you ride that K2 board. Not only is it not the perfect size for you, but I think it is at least ten years old. You want to be on newer tech that will help you progress easier. The Assassin 156 would be great for you. We've got that board available now www.radioboardshop.com/salomon-assassin-23.html?id=85785002&quantity=1
@@SearchofSnowboarding thanks for the advice. The K2 is actually still in the wrapper, brand new, that’s why Im a little hesitant about grabbing a new board. Looks like you don’t ship to Canada though? Just tried to price out what it was cost and only saw US as an option.
@@tamestranger5766 Yeah sorry, we don't. Even with the K2 still in the wrapper I don't think they have produced it for ten years. It would be like having an iphone 1 still in the wrapper
For the most optimal ride you want to get as narrow as you can without the toe drag. Playing with angles helps here too. It's all too easy for board shops to say "Oh size 12 shoe?? get this 165W skunk ape" lol.
you lost me when you said effective edge shouldn't be a determining factor on what board to buy.. effective edge is one of the most important aspects of a board and how it rides
possibly the dumbist thing ive heard ,its like your job saying no im not going to pay you because you dont have enough twitter followers smh i hate to see people this dumb
