I finally con fronted my spouse about his addictions and he tried to twist around and say I believe what people text me this has happened several times . I have been dealing with this for several years.. I said to him quit trying to justify what you are doing. He stormed out. I can't deal with it anymore.
Hi Toni, here's a video about how to confront someone about their addiction. Hope it helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XDGsuDvnKAM.html
This was helpful. It seems like stopping the circle at any one place can help the addiction come to an end. It's like relapse doesn't typically happen in a moment, but a mental buildup of many moments then relapse.
Just wanted to comment to help the channel rate better in the algorithm bc ur doing such awesome work, ur the ONLY content creator that I've found who is educating about CRAFT method! Im sending ur vids to all the family members and telling them to check out ur channel ❤
Hi from Australia, Amber. A loved one struggles with addiction and I have watched almost all of your videos over the past year or so. I've found them incredibly helpful. A while back you mentioned (I think in a comment) a book about raising kids ("Love" was in the title I think) that you found also applied to your mode of therapy. I'm pregnant so that book would be super handy right now and I can't find that comment anywhere, I was hoping you could remind me of the title? Thank you again, I'm sure I'm only one of thousands who you've helped feel reassured.
I feel like the thinking number 6 of I've screwed everything up so bad there is no getting out of all the horrible consequences that I'm going to have to endure so F- IT I might as well get as messed up as possible because I can't handle the fear and shame I'm going to have to face in front of everyone and the judge !
Hello everyone...I quit alcohol 16 years ago and other things 20 years ago. Yes, it's really hard but you can do it. You can turn your life around. For those who have an addicted or alcoholic loved one, there is hope. But they have to want it, and they have to do the work themselves. Yes, you may have to walk away. I'm so sorry.
My husband says it's only alcohol and weed at least it's not meth. 😢 To me a drug is a drug or he will say I only drink 3 days a week. My husband picks fights so he can justify his addiction to alcohol weed and gambling. I'm lost this back and forth is emotionally exhausting
I would like a good example of a boundary I can set with my boyfriend (who is trying to recover his alcoholism but has been relapsing), He gets drunk and messages women. He says he’s working on it but just the other day he got drunk and messaged my friend. So here is where from your videos I learned a boundary may be helpful if the situation is harming me and my well-being. That’s my friend. So how do I set a boundary with my personal life and his drinking and messaging women and sometimes even my friends?!
