It never ceases to amaze me how an accident is always only seconds away from all of us every minute of everyday. My advice is to slow down, always keep a safe distance and be ready to expect the "unexpected..." SoCalDrivingGuru.

DRIVERS BEWARE!! Greetings to all. This is a friendly reminder to pay more than the usually attention in the next few days. Have a safe and peaceful holiday! BE PREPARED FOR WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS! What? When? Driving will be more dangerous in the next few days. The days leading to a three day holiday or any holiday for that matter brings out the worst in drivers and sadly with each year it seems to be only getting worse with no end in sight. I have grave concerns for what tragedies will unfold in tomorrow's headlines? You are more likely to see aggression at it's highest level. The distracted will be more distracted, drivers in dedicated left turn lanes may turn right, while others may turn left from the right curb lane. Speeders will increase speed, tailgaters will tailgate more AND closer. While others will be running stops AND red lights to name just a few things you may witness. Here are a few tips to stay safe. 1. Pick your driving times wisely if you have that option. Some of us don't, but if you do… use it. Ask yourself? Do I really need to be out during the heaviest driving times? 2. Try to avoid driving at night. Especially during the hours of 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. This by far is the most dangerous time to drive because of poor visibility, bright headlights, distracted drivers on the phone or texting or engaged in heavy conversation with passengers. Also, the possibility of drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol is increased. 3. Whether you are driving during the day or night, busy or light traffic…. do not get vacuumed into becoming the aggressor or the escalator of a situation that can easily go from bad to worst! If someone cuts you off, honks unnecessarily, or yells…. IGNORE IT!!!! Remember… that ugly feeling you're experiencing could last for maybe ten seconds or…. maybe worst case…. a life time. Better to ignore and put out the fire. Finally…. remember aggressive drivers want to continue to move forward so let them. The farther they go… the better. So in these next few days… stay alert, focused, and give yourself plenty of space and time to arrive at your destination safely. Please share with friends. Safe driving to all. The Driving Guru. Peace.

what do the numbers mean

Good morning, I want to remind everyone that whether you live in a big city or a small town.... this is the most dangerous time to drive. I have done my own unscientific survey and have concluded that anywhere from Thanksgiving all the way through New Years day drivers become more erratic than usual. On any given day you encounter bad driving... but through Thanksgiving on... It becomes more apparent in the last days of the year. This is what I encounter while working with students. Drivers literally running red lights after it has been lit for at least 4 seconds, drivers oblivious to pedestrians trying cross any street, drivers in a right curb lane... then suddenly cross lanes to turn left. Also the complete opposite scenario. Drivers in a left lane, then suddenly turn right. Right now on our freeways the average speed is anywhere from 80 to 90 mph. It's pretty obvious they do not understand SIMPLE PHYSICS!! They are lured into thinking their car will magically stop as they did on the commercials. You can't win physics. Once you passed the collision point... nothing will avoid collision. I see drunk drivers on the road the in the middle of the day, drivers texting on small streets and also the freeway. Remember... when you look away from the road even to see who's calling ... it is equivalent to closing your eyes. Looking away for two seconds could lead you to an accident. Please be safe and take your time to your destination. No rush.... we all end up at the same place eventually.... the graveyard.... so take your time to get there!!!!! Message from your uncle Bob....

what does it mean when numbers are circled?
@edwardluna3277

Anything circled indicates that you've completed that task. A full test should have most maneuvers circled.

What does 1 to 8 means in intersections and 1 to 4 means on turns?
@edwardluna3277
@edwardluna3277 7 лет назад
Hi Chai, to clarify... I through 8 in "intersections" means you will be judged on how you handle going through at least 8 intersections. This could be anywhere from a residential street to a busy lighted intersection. In short, they want to see if you are observant of who has the right away.... if you do not have a stop sign or red light.... they want you to at least glance both ways to make sure it's safe. In turns... 1 through 4 means you will be judged on how you handle turns. Okay... here are some examples... let's say you are going through any intersection where you do not have a red light or stop sign.... you are obligated for your safety to look both ways right before you go through the intersection to confirm it is safe. In those situations please don't make a full stop because this would be an automatic fail for stopping unnecessarily. On turns where there is no stop sign or red light or pedestrians or road hazards... you must slow down to a safe turning speed before the turn. Remember.... slowing down which is necessary on all turns is different than making a complete stop. Attempting a right turn on a red light has many variables that must be considered before you turn. Make a complete stop behind the limit line first, then look to see if there are any signs indicating "no turn on red" or a "red arrow" facing in your direction. If those cases.. you have to wait. Other points of consideration would be if there are pedestrians close to your corner... it's better to wait until the turns green. Remember, you don't have to turn on a red light unless you have a green arrow facing you direction. When in doubt.... just wait for the green.

Hi Nandi, I am so sorry for not completing this project.... but I have been inundated with many students. I plan to be more pro active with driving tutorials this fall. I will add Skype as an option as well. To keep the motoring public well informed. www.yelp.com/biz/the-driving-doctor-pasadena-2
