understanding the note/mode association 

I demonstrated how the notes are laid out in G major and a minor
in the key of G major/e minor. The circle of 5ths explains a lot of theory
but this will help you identify the notes you are playing in each mode.
This is how you learn the notes you are playing and how you can identify
the tonic/1 - 3 rd and 5th.
