I love Buddhism psychology, and it helps me a lot. All perceptions of me (by myself and others) are mere projections and expressions of the current state of the conscious mind. It can just pass by like clouds. Hence, we can just be compassionate not to feel guilty nor judge ourselves and others of such expressions/perceptions. We can all help each other heal. That is why I love to journal and meditate, this way, I can express the current state of my conscious mind in a healthy way and help avoid projecting it to others. We just really have to tame our minds the Taoist way, the Buddhist way. Very Eastern indeed. This is also the reason I am a late bloomer in teaching, psychology, philosophy, and writing. I just find it interesting to make sense of the world and of myself, after fulfilling some roles (as a working mom) in the family. It is truly a time for myself. As they say, it is so hard to pour with an empty cup. I am currently enjoying meaningful academic tasks for personal development, for insightful reflections on the journey of self-discovery and growth.

After the pandemic, Filipinos tend to be more post-modern now, thinking of inclusion, diversity, and the local context of phenomena and events in other nations. We now have a choice for our self-identities. Yes, we have managed to build up our characters, valuing time freedom for meaningful projects and undertakings. (ops, I might just be speaking of myself) :))

Currently, I'm studying the Social Dimensions of Teaching for my LET self review, which made me discover your channel. There are a lot of Sociologists mentioned in ChatGPT discussions. Considering that it is truly enjoying to process oneself (pagsasalamin), it seems to be that Sociology tends to be so technical and "hard" probably due to its tendency to consider the hard truths of societal power struggles, not like psychology, we tend to focus on oneself, which is something we can control of. I have a logical perspective, that yeah - I understand the society and yet I don't have the power of change it, something like that. That is why, I prefer to consider psychological and philosophical theories of everyday phenomenon, rather than its sociological and economical theories. These are just mere feelings and expressions of my conscious mind. #epistemology

Indeed, we have to be careful not to attach to ideas, roles, and the like. No self of Buddhism truly makes sense. We just need to express our conscious minds.

Taga manila ako so it’s weird for me to hear na maingay ang san fernando kc I’ve been to Pampanga and my first impression of both Angeles and San Fernando is that parehas silang tahimik especially Angeles na parang ghost town sa may Clark Air Base parang set ng Walking Dead

Self is just a social construct Self is not present at birth - if present, we have no memory of it Social interaction- sense of self Self is product of social interaction Angeles vs San Fernando - mas maingay Looking glass self - we see ourselves based on others - maingay, madaldal - teaching is a performance Perceptions are subjective, not accurate - biases, blind spots Judgement are unfavorable, misinterpretation Baka ganun ka talaga di mo lang matanggap I (subjective) and me (objective) Nakakaboring naman ung class na ito

The reason why ur students are not responsive kc di pa sila makarelate kasi as a student in probinsya, baon lang naman, wala pang pera. Makakarelate lang sa iyo is mga working class adults kc may pera na.

Good lecture, but please learn more about socialism and alternatives to capitalism. Capitalism is toxic and serving Filipino elites. Not exactly the promotion of fairness equality of opportunity. The alternative to Capitalism isn't north Korea..imagine instead, free healthcare and good education for everyone, every single Filipino. Imagine democracy in the work place, limits to how rich the rich can become. Proper trauma education and letting people know that there's an alternative to becoming a fake, phoney rich asshole, or staying poor. For that, we need education on real socialism or Marxism. Not this "communism is evil" propaganda and fear.
