Understanding Transplant: Your Options, the Process and Overcoming Barriers 

Transplant is the optimal treatment for kidney failure, as it can improve your quality of life and increase your chances of living longer. However, many people face challenges with transplant, including learning about transplant after starting dialysis, long wait times and difficulties finding living donors. Black and Hispanic/Latino Americans experience additional barriers throughout the transplant process. This session’s panelists will outline transplant options and relevant disparities and discuss the transplant process to increase awareness and set expectations of the transplant journey.
