its a very interesting reflection, because racism is a form prejudice and everyone is atleast a little prejudiced not even pertaining to race or gender, for example if you dont like people that smoke because "oh they are all disgusting and rude" thats prejudice cuz you're judging someone and atributing characteriscs to them before even meeting them, humanizing and actually trying to understand people who are racist or homophobic or etc, can be helpful to not only change that person but also to prevent those notions from spreading to other people
My first time seeing a video of you. I think this makes sense. I'm mixed, live in Sweden. Dad left when I was a toddler, so I grew up with my Swedish mother and my Swedish/Polish sister. Haven't had much racism in my upbringing. Yknow the slavery in Sweden was mostly made up out of Christian Englishmen, but all races where welcome to slave away under the Viking rules ^^ What I'm saying is that Sweden's not as bombastic about race as America. The few instances I've met racism's been chill. They're just people communicating in a way that's normal for them, and when I meet them in a way that's normal for me we usually work out. It's normal for humans to get along yknow? Then I'm interested in both neurology and behavioural science. We do get conditioned into feeling and thinking about different stuff, and our brain categorizes independent of how we choose and in such complexity we can't figure out exactly why and how we think and feel about others - So much going on in the subconscious yeah? I've been thinking a lot about how people interact, relate it to myself and that. I think it's cool you got to the conclusions you did through personal experience, like 'in the field'. I don't know your usual video length, but I enjoy videos that are loong. I tend to use them as podcasts. You do you, though. And you do you good ;)
that's great, it one of the reasons I like making videos like this. I like when people can understand things from a different perspective and think critically.
I'm a German visiting South Korea right now. And I wonder if they look at me and think the same that I think when I see Turks in Germany (or in any other European country). I don't mind the individuals. It's the amount of people coming from outside that really annoys me. America is a bit weird because it's not originally white, but Europe is. So seeing so many non-whites really grinds my gears. And I wouldn't blame Asians if they see me and are annoyed as well. But even if they are, I don't really mind. I like how homogeneous it is here. I would love to go to Africa as well (Namibia or Botswana for example) and see homogenous black areas. I was in India for a month as well, didn't have a racist thought in that time at all. But when I was back in Germany it didn't take long to become racist again. Anyway, convoluted message, didn't sleep on the flight. Very tired
i feel most people will see this title and think it says "i agree with racism" and not "i understand why people are racist" also another thing is that i totally agree with you on the prejudice vs discrimination thing since i grew up and still live in Denmark and slurs get thrown around a bunch, and because of that i sometimes get scared around people who are not white. which i have literally no idea on why that happens, i am not racist and i view racism to only be something for idiots and delusional people. i don't act on these thoughts nor do i try to even think them, but i still get them simply because of my environment, which is really interesting and is why i sometimes sympathize with racists. i think racists are stupid but not always bad people
terraria in the thumbnail made me wonder: why this guy is discussing racism in a 2d game where the creator of itself litterally added the masterbait and the golden shower? is this a new version of the subway surfer gameplay under a griffin episode? none of this. an actual normal video
