I find myself waking up in the 3 o’clock hour more than I care to admit. You touched on that being related to blood sugar. Is that in general or could it be what I eat in the evening? I do tend to snack while making dinner and I also have dessert. Thank you for these videos, they are fascinating! Keep them coming, you really are making a positive impact on many people ❤

It could be. Generally if we can not control blood sugar well it can lead to us waking up in the night (due to dips)! I would focus on making sure you are getting a good amount of protein and fiber at breakfast and lunch! That often sets us up to be less "snacky" later in the day and after dinner! Hope that helps 💚 Will keep it up, thank you for the support 💚

Great video, life long hypoglycemic, the relationship between hypoglycemia and fight or flight activation, mind blown. Am also still dealing with post viral effects so lots of sympathetic nervous system activation lol! Thanks for the quick tips to help calm down the nervous system as well as nutritional suggestions. Food as medicine is something I embrace 100%! 🤗💕

Thanks Claire!! Timely topic, lol, as life is stressful at the moment. Are there physical problems that mess with the vagal nerve?

You are very welcome! Sorry to hear that life is stressful, sending good energy your way! Conditions like diabetes, auto immune conditions, gastroparesis, IBD, IBS and any inflammatory condition can impact the vagus nerve. These can all affect vagal tone and function. I hope you are able to utilize some of the tips over the new little bit 💚

@@drclairelockridgend ❤ I've been using the box breathing! I'm also trying to walk if/when I can. My parents are failing. Dad's in the hospital so I'm taking care of mom with dementia. Prayers and peace to all on this journey!
