My name is Claire and I am a Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Toronto, Canada.
I know the importance of taking a broad, holistic approach to health! On my channel, I love sharing healthy recipes, meal ideas, and wellness tips to help support you in your health journey!
Ah love your channel. I recently had to say goodbye to my ND because everything in CA is so expensive. But now I have some food inspiration and I can’t eat eggs so wahoo! Thanks ❣️
So glad you found the video helpful!! I am sorry to hear you can't see your ND. But I am here to support you on your health journey in any way that I can! Thank you so much for the comment!💚
As someone who also lives alone, I love these healthy food vlogs! Second food vlog I watched from you and am now a new subscriber. Can’t wait to see the next video and I hope you have a great week ahead 😊
I use my Instantpot for bone broth, soups, hard boiled eggs, batch cooking dried beans (freeze in portions), teff porridge. Oh and zenbelly has a fabulous recipe for chicken tinga I’ve made at least 30x!
Second youtube vid i watch today where someone makes banana bread, lol! Guess i need to make some! Thanks for sharing your recipe! I love these videos for food prep inspo. 🤗💕✨
Love 💕 your “what I eat in a week” videos! I have a grain/fruit combo intolerance and envy those wraps! Definitely going to batch cook some veg. Thanks for the inspo! ❤
So glad you like the videos! I also like the siete grain free wraps, but they are so hard to find in Canada!! You are so welcome for the inspo, thank you so much for the comment!💚
Those are great uses!! I bought it almost exclusively for bone broth, but excited to use it for rice and beans too! Thank you so much for the comment!💚
Silk ads some unwanted ingredients in their milks. I don’t buy it anymore. Plastics aren’t healthy either to store foods. I use glass now. But your food looked delicious! Thanks for sharing. ❤️🙏🏻
Yes, I don’t usually use silk milk (I like eden or elmhurst milks), but like I said, I was at my parents house, so I used what I had available to me. I do store most of my food in glass or stainless steel! Thanks for the comment💚
I personally prefer these type of videos way more than sit down videos …. This is very satisfying to watch and I love all the colourful nutritional powerhouse foods that you eat 🫶🙌
Egg Quesadillas are seriously the best!! Especially with great quality cheese and avocado! Excited for your Fall recipe Inspo and loving all your IG stories =)
Love your videos! So many great meal tips that are easy to incorporate. Can we find the recipe for your oat flour Banana Bread in your Basics guide or in another video? Thank you!
This was so so beneficial! Thank you for being so honest! I have related to so much you spoke about and am still working on all of this actively! I think you are so right! knowing how to apply the knowledge and what will work for us is the hardest part! especially with so much online x
I’m so glad you are feeling better 😊 I so enjoy watching your videos and hearing g your good advice..speaking of..is that supplement available for us to purchase? Hope your day is amazing! Thank you for all that you do!!! 😊
So glad that you like the video!! I can't link any products or give any recommendations, but I can tell you the supplement I use is the mood matrix by cytomatrix! Hope that helps 💚
❤i love your videos. I am in the phase where I try to implement. Sometimes it works, sometimes not…. But generally I am encouraged when you also share that you struggle and I feel more confident in what I am doing and not biting myself up. Thank you 🙏 I really think/hope with people like you the Health Care system will change. I suffer from Leaky Gut and IBS and it took me more than 1 year to find out what was wrong with me, and this only when I switched to a natural health practitioner and stepped away from classical medicine. I am hoping with you on the change 😊 Have a great week!
So glad that you like the videos!! I think that implementation is something that every person struggles with! I am sorry to hear that it took so long for you to figure out what was going on with your health, but glad to hear that you are on your healing journey!! I truly think that the way that we approach health care will change in the future! Thank you so much for the comment!💚
So glad you like the video! In terms of nutrition, focusing on a whole foods diet that is high in fiber (vegetables, fruit, whole grains, nuts and seeds) and lower in saturated fat is recommended post GB removal. Working with a nutritionist or dietitian 1:1 may be helpful to identify your needs. Removal of the GB also changes digestion, so we want to make sure that we are assessing for deficiencies. Removing processed foods and refined sugar is also really important. And then addressing why the GB/ Spleen was removed. Looking into gut health, liver function, cholesterol, ect... Lastly there are some supplements that can be very helpful after GB removal. So working 1:1 with a ND or a functional doctor can be helpful for that. Hope that helps 💚
So eggs can be eliminated if you are following a AIP or comprehensive elimination diet. It really depends on individual sensitivity! I tolerate eggs very well, so they are a staple in my diet! Hope that helps 💚
I Love your videos 😍 I've just discovered your channel and your meals are fantastic. It's so nice to see realistic meal options that reduce grocery waste and actually use leftover items for new meals 😊 I've got some serious channel bingeing to do now 😅
You’ve had me hooked on spring rolls! They’ve become such a staple in my weekly rotation since I’ve started following your content. Also, I never said thank you for linking your cute outfits a couple videos back. Thanks!
You're such a warrior! glad you are feeling better. Movement is truly medicine and such a mood booster. As someone with chronic low blood counts, it's difficult to determine whether getting labs done is beneficial or detrimental - def a delicate balance. Also I feel like minerals are tricky because even if they are low in blood work, they can potentially accumulate in other organs of the body?!
Thank you so much for the well wished!! I am sorry to hear about the low blood counts! In terms of lab work, we know that vitamin D and B 12 levels are pretty accurately reflected on blood work. Like I said ferritin can be tricky because it can be a marker of stored iron, but it is also an acute phase reactant in the liver, so it can elevated due to that. In terms of some of the other minerals you are correct. Often times serum markers do not accurately reflect levels within the body. Soemtimes that is where more functional testing/ OAT testing can be helpful!
What would you suggest to someone on low carb to roast tempeh without maple syrup? I miss my hometown in Toronto this time of year when it is cooler and the leaves are actually red. Still 20° here in England and Autumn is pale yellow, pale orange. No bright red leaves anywhere😢
You could just leave the maple syrup out, it would still be delicious!! I feel ya, I love TO in early September! It’s chilly but not cold and so colourful! But fall and winter in England always looks so cozy in the movies too 🤣
So I have it about 1-3 times per week at most, and only small amounts as a garnish. But if you don't want to include it in your diet you don't have to!
