I kinda knew when I got into the game that I would be into it's fandom for like, maybe a year or a few months. I knew my huge love for it wouldn't last forever. Good thing I got out of it before the fandom started to really fucking blow. I really got into EarthBound in January, and I know I'll be sticking with the fandom for a long time. One of the first games that truly touched my heart.
@@Tritnew Have you played Mother 3 yet? That is when your heart will truly be set. You thought EarthBound was great? Your mind is about to be changed. (You can download OpenEmu for Mac or mGBA for PC for free, and for the sake of ease, search up "Mother 3 English fan translation pre-patched", the top result has the download for all the Mother games.)
In the early 1900's a dark shadow covered a small country town in rural America. At that time a yound married couple vanished mysteriously from their home. The man's name was George. The woman's name was Maria. Two years later, as suddenly as he'd left George returned. He never told anyone where he had been or what he had done. But, he began an odd study, all by himself. As for Maria, his wife, she never returned. 80 years have passed since then.
you know ive always been thinking about how Courage is Kris's TP ability they get near the fountain, and how the game over theme of deltarune is called "Faint Courage" TL;DR: kris is ness???!?/???/
I like the fact that they wouldn't even kill any of the monsters. Any instance of you beating an animal or human, prompts the game to either say Became Tame, or Returned to Normal. Which does not imply any sort of murder. And you can do a true pacifist route by attacking enemies in UnderTale this excludes Temmie and Moldbygg though, you have to use the act button to spare them,
@@Mehmet_Ergin qardaş, mən təəccübə düşdüm burda türkü görəndə... Mən azərbaycanlıyam. Allah Tobi Foksı saxlasın. Mən "Anderteyl"-ı bütün uşaqlıqımı sevirdim. Və "Mother" oyun seriyası ilə tanış oldum Tobi-yə görə. Ay Allah... Adamın gözü yaş olur... Amazing game... Kudos from Azerbaijan ☺️🇦🇿👍
Some of the soundtrack is made from soundfonts of Earthbound: Here we are, Almagamates, and Megalovania are examples, and I agree, Earthbound contains one of the best soundfonts I have heard and I think there should be a custom OST with those sounds.
Frisk: A Pacifist, befriends everybody that wants to fight with him. Chara: A Genocide, wants to kill everything that moves, even if they don't want to fight. Ness: A Hero, has psicokinetic powers, befriends everybody, even after he kicks their butt in battle. Asriel: Excuse me what the f%ck?
@@NAFProjects Ik, depending how the player interacts with the game, makes chara good or bad, but the evil chara is how the fandom recognices the character the most.
And we all know (well maybe not all of us) that EarthBound has several Beatles references and samples in the soundtrack! Okay at first I was joking but now this has to have been cleverly thought out OMG MY BRAIN HURTS JSjnskl
Long ago, a human fell into the underground. Injured by its fall, the human called out for help. LUCAS, the underground's prince, heard the human's cries. He helped nurse the fallen human back to health. The king and queen accepted the human as their son. They grew like a family, even being called "twins" at times. Hope was spread through out the underground. However, one day... The human grew terribly ill. He only had one request. To see the sunflowers just off his village. But we couldn't do anything. The next day... The next day... ... The human died. LUCAS, wracked with grief, absorbed the human's soul. Holding the human's body, he crossed the barrier. He carried him into the sunset, towards the village. LUCAS smiled at the flowers that his brother was finally able to see. Suddenly, screams rang out. The villagers saw LUCAS holding the human's body. They believed he had killed the child. LUCAS was struck with blow after blow. He had the power to kill them all. But he didn't. He returned to the underground with a smile. His dust spread onto the garden, The king and queen were devastated. They had lost two children in one night. The kingdom fell into despair. KING FLINT decided it was time to end our suffering. He declared war on the humans, declaring they all be killed once falling in. The queen, disgusted by his actions, fled and was later assumed to be dead. It's not long now. KING FLINT will give us hope. KING FLINT will free us all. Aren't you happy? Aren't you excited? You're going to be free. (..By the way, yes; Hinawa is Toriel and Claus is Chara.) (IALSODIDNTLOOKUPTHELINESIHADNOREFERENCEFORTHATLMAO)
this fills me with this really cool emotion, like I know what's coming next in the song but at the same time I don't. the song Undertale honestly is my favourite from the OST and to hear it paired with all these samples from Earthbound that just work soo well it's incredible. I clicked on this and got 5 seconds in and already I could tell this was gonna be good
Over the years I have come to appreciate this video more and more. First, when I didn't know that much about EarthBound, I liked it. Then, I started to like EarthBound more and more, forgetting about it entirely. Finally, I now love it a lot.
Ness: "why are you talking? Your a flower!" Flowey: "thats not important, now collect the friendliness pellets!" Ness: "ok." 1 HP of damage to Ness! Flowey: "how are you alive?!"
small thing about ebmused (and just eb's sound engine): the game can only load certain instruments at a time. instruments like the piano and your name pad can't be played together, unless the soundbanks are edited. yes, i'm a huge nerd.
Ness and friends could break undertale as a whole:Lets be honest they are a LOT stronger than frisk, in this scenario i like to think they fell there going to re vist the giant step, 1: they could wreck ANY form of flowey 2: i think flowey knows the persons Lv, if so he would instantly run away like in genocide cuz you know 4 humans and each of their lv is higher than the ENTIRE UNDERGROUND COMBINED. 3:They have an item called "Shield Killer" and you know where i am going with this. 4:THEY COULD REVIVE CHARA AND ASRIEL IF TOLD THE LOCATION 5:Their stats are in the hundreds. They can TELEPORT
The Asgore fight would actually be sadder if you had a full party like this because Frisk didn't have any party members to mourn their death if they lost
I know why this is happening because Toby made his first game Earthbound and then made undertale if you still did not get it there's a skeeter called Toby Fox which is made a scary EarthBound game and then he made a game called undertale they both had the same song called megalomania so this if undertale soundtrack was in EarthBound
toby fox made the earthbound halloween hack years ago, it used megalovania in it, and then years later made undertale and used another version of megalovania in the fight against sans
Toby Fox did not create EarthBound. Shigesato Itoi was the creative genius behind EarthBound. The game was released back in 1994 and it has since been the inspiration for many western RPGs such as Undertale. Toby Fox was about three years old when EarthBound was released in the United States.
The fact that this game is so underrated and nobody's ever heard of it is sad. I'm so glad I grew up playing Earthbound..... I was 8 when I first played Earthbound, and I loved it SO much, I BEGGED my mom if I can get the Player's Guide (it's so expensive now...that's how classic this game is), and she got one for me! Everyone at school would ONLY talk about Undertale, Undertale, Undertale, and never Earthbound, Earthbound, Earthbound.... I thought I was the only kid in the world that loved that game. I mean, the music in Earthbound is FAR MORE superior than Undertale music.... Earthbound is such a beautiful and funny and amazing and lovely game, that Earthbound inspired games like: Oneshot, Omori, and Undertale. But whenever you tell those horrible Undertale addicts that Undertale is inspired by Earthbound (Toby Fox said so himself!), They get mad and shut you down. Earthbound music is so good, that when I listened to the Eight Melodies from Mother 1 (both in game version and St. Paul's Cathedinal Choir version), I cried. When I listened to Pollyanna/I Believe In You from Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings (both in game version and Catherine Warwick version), I also cried. When I listened to Bein' Friends from Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings (both in game version and Catherine Warwick version), I cried. When I listened to Smiles And Tears/Eight Melodies from Mother 2/Earthbound, I cried. I bopped at songs that are catchy and funky like New Age Retro Hippy's/Franky's theme, I jammed along and was serenaded by songs like Winters and Snowman, I laughed at the games funny and simple moments, I got enraged each time I got stuck or died (thanks for helping me get out of those stuck areas, Player's Guide! I died and got stuck a lot), I rejoiced when I finally got Paula on my team (whom I've named "Lily" when I played that game when I was 8), I let out a sigh when Jeff finally joined the team and freed Paula and Ness (whom 8-year-old me named "Timmy"), I was overjoyed and confused on how he just teleported there when I got Poo (the final member!) to join the team. (Whom 8-year-old me named "RK Lee" because "RK Lee" is a MUCH SUPERIOR name than "Poo", but Poo is funnier) I never got to play Mother 3 as a kid because it never got localized. I really hope that Nintendo decides to localize it one day. It's like what the rest of Mother/Earthbound fans and Terry Crews (yes, I said Terry Crews) hope and say: "Localize Mother 3!" (EDIT: I really don't think anyone's going to read this bc I overtype....Been doing it since I was 9 but if you DID read all of that.... Here's a cookie 🍪)
I read it And UNDERTALE fans have never denied the similarities between Earthbound and UNDERTALE Some of them have become Earthbound fans due to the game I became an UNDERTALE fan because I heard that it was similar to Earthbound
@@LoiValdes Yeah they have denied it. When I was 12 and still in my Undertale phase, I told the Undertale fans that Undertale is HEAVILY inspired on Earthbound, as well as Omori, Oneshot, and Lisa, and all they did was tell me "Lol no it wasn't".
Both games are good in their own rights, we don't need to argue about it anymore, ok? Also, Ness isn't Sans! EVERYONE SHUT UP ABOUT THAT ALREADY! IT'S ANNOYING!!!!! >:(
1. EarthBound>Undertale I played Undertale and liked it, then I played EarthBound. I’m still playing EarthBound. But I can agree they both have great OSTs
The song “Undertale” actually uses very little if any of the Earthbound soundfont. In fact, the acoustic guitar is actually a recording of a real life guitar (probably a friend of Toby’s playing it for him)
