So does anybody else think that it's kinda sweet how Papyrus might be the closest thing Flowey had for a friend before you show up? Flowey even admits that it took him longer to become bored of him than anybody else. His face while talking about him seems to show some level of fondness for him.

Flowey is so *freaking tragic*. I mean, seriously. Not only had he been trapped in an infinite time-loop for ages, but despite the artificial DETERMINATION Alphys injected into him he had no purpose or way of reaching any sort of fulfillment. Asriel only desired love, but Flowey couldn't feel anything. The fact that such a pitiful, soulless creature only did good things with the RESET power at first is a testament to what a good person Asriel had been. But without a soul, no wonder Flowey went crazy after a while. I actually can't blame him. He honestly tried to be good. But how could he without compassion, or conscience?

We can all agree that Sans is the perfect example of _"with great power comes great irresponsibility"_. Right?

What happens if you learn about the flowey fan club, then head back to the game, and talk to papyrus before fighting Asriel again? Can you actually start the Flowey fan club with him?

Everyone's saying how this means that Flowey was killed by Sans... No, it doesn't. It means that Sans has, many times, tormented Flowey to the point where he feels his only option is to Reset. That doesn't mean repeated death. That just means... Torment. And knowing Sans, it was a perpetual stream of jokes. Sarcastic comments. Too-specific insults about his parentage. Too-bright smiles and too-loud laughter. Slow, careful, planned, clever, torture. Without even physical contact. Sans could probably find a way to drive Flowey almost to insanity, by following him wherever he went, not giving him an inch of space. The small, annoying things that make us all angry. Not just them, too. The little things that bullies do to get us. The snide comments, the quick remarks. Not the beatings, but the everying-in-betweens. Sans could do it all, every hour of every day, until Flowey finally snaps. Except, when Sans dies, Papyrus will torment him as well. Perhaps not as knowingly, not carefully, but Papyrus *will* torment him. He will mourn his brother, and as he does he will come to his only friend. To his little flower buddy, who whispers praise and predictions. He'll cry, often for hours, and he'll rant helplessly about how much he misses his brother, until Flowey snaps again. Either out of a sudden realisation that he has a conscience, and a fear of all the guilt suddenly crashing down on him, or out of pure annoyance at having to deal with this snivelling skeleton. "But why would Sans do all this? What reason could Sans have to hate Flowey? We all have our reasons, but what reason would Sans have?" ... Is probably not what you're saying. Whatever. Because of what Flowey has been doing to his brother. Papyrus thinks it's kind, and encouraging, and so much nicer than anyone else is to him. But Sans, when he's told of all the things Flowey has been saying (and he will have been told. Can you imagine Papyrus keeping quiet about a new friend?) will see hear the sarcasm, the cruel intentions, even when the words are coming out his brother's mouth. If we go to Grillbyz with Sans, he asks us if we've seen a talking flower, and to tell us if we see one, so he obviously wants to find Flowey. The way his eyes go black show that he has some pretty dark plans for when he gets his hands on the little weed. I imagine that the only reason he hasn't in that timeline is because Flowey hid himself, very carefully, after all the trouble that the angry, concerned, overprotective brother has caused him. I'm sorry if this sounds like it was written by a Victorian, forgive me. I've been watching a disproportionate amount of Jane Austen films lately. I'm afraid they have done no good for my poor nerves.

It has been 6 whole years since the game came out and I'm still learning things I never knew before

I’ve just been cool this whole time, never killing anyone. I bet you if I told him that the reason I keep resetting is because I need to find a way to save one last person…” *Flowey roars in frustration. “He’d MURDER YOU! He’d PULL the DAMN PLUG! He doesn’t TRUST players! How do you think all those coffins got there? Those prissy ROYAL GUARDS?! HAH!” *You shake your head and kneel down to Flowey’s level, speaking softly this time. “He’d understand. Sans the Skeleton is the dark and spooky hallway in the house you've never been in before. Or the journal you found left behind in your classroom after school. Or the dirty alleyway with something glimmering on the other side. you know some things are better left undiscovered. you know you might not like what you find. you know you may suffer for your actions. but he's still the kind of mystery you just want to solve.

It's because I like your character! I wouldn't do this just because I want to see all the outcomes! I don't want to see you die or suffer! I wouldn't do this to every character I can get my hands on! I'm a curious person but I'm not that curious! The truth is... I find it tragic. Tragic that you were written this way. Tragic that you were just written to be a tortured villain with no possible "happy ending". One of the only characters in the story that can't be truly redeemed... and just want to listen to what you have to say, I want to spend time with yo, I want to interact with you, I just want to SAVE you... I'm genuinely excited to see you curious or truly happy (without causing harm to the happiness of others). And I know that there are some players in this world who would literary scavenge the code to see all the possible outcomes, who would search the internet for secret rooms, who would watch play throughs of the genocide run just because they were curious (I tried to do these things, but I released that would ruin the magic of the game, and just decided that some things will just remain hidden for me). But I'm not one of them, and I'm probably part of the many... who just wants a fictional character to be happy. (wow... I can believe I got so attached to a game)

apparently, when sans invited you to grilby's for a lunch he mentioned about a talking flower that speaks to papyrus, we may have the idea that the flower he was talking about are the flowers in the waterfalls that repeats the last word it hears but no, that flower if flowey. papyrus and flowey are "friends" if you visit the MTT hotel and call papyrus and undyne, papyrus mentions the name of the flower (unsurely) as "flowery".

So that's where Sans got his lovely nickname from!

"don't you have anything better to do?" ahhh my heart, it's so cool how flowey and asriel say the same line completely differently

That "Don't you have anything better to do" line gets me so upset, considering how many times Flowey/Asriel says it in the game. Besides this, there's two other occasions I know of where he says it. One is if you complete the pacifist run and go back all the way to the first room, the one you woke up in at the start of the game. Asriel is there, and you can talk to him. He'll say some stuff that isn't really important to my point, talks about Chara and stuff, and then finishes. If you try to talk to him again, he'll say, "Don't you have anything better to do, Frisk?" The other time I know of is if you start the beginning of the game over a few times. And by this I mean, you shouldn't get very far past the first time you meet Flowey before resetting. If you do it a few times, instead of his normal speech, Flowey will go, "Don't you have anything better to do?" and enter combat with you. There are probably other times he says it that I don't know of, but that line bothers me a lot considering it's really just a "I have nothing left to say to you" line. It's like Sans's 'special attack', it's just meant to annoy you and get you frustrated until you give up on talking to him. And I *hate it.*

It’s strange. A part of me wishes you could full on partner up with Flowey without any betrayals at the end. If you’re doing all routes, it’s likely you have the exact same motivation as him. Just getting to see everything the world has to offer. I also really like how Flowey refers to Papyrus straight up as a “character” it really hammers on that he’s gone through so many resets that he no longer sees people as people anymore as he already knows everything they have to say.
