Let's appreciate the fact that this heavy metal rock song is called dead silence.

Taking this out of context, this sounds like it's taken from the point of a corrupt dictator speaking to their defected child, potentially the protagonist of the story, and try to convert them back to 'family business' by convincing them that it's in their blood, it's all their fault, and that the father and child... are not so different. "You'll always be part of me." The scream at the end are from the victims of the ruler's reign- his own people, who dared to utter even a word that was against his government's likings, or who attempted to spark rebellion; to be met with a grievous fate worse than the reaper's scythe. I should make a story out of this, should I? Long-delayed edit: I forgot about Zuko.

Everyones like "OMG THAT JUMPSCARE WAS SO SCARY I FELL OF MY CHAIR AND POOPED MYSELF" ...Seriously? The ending wasn't even a jumpscare AT ALL. It was something that was supposed to add to the atmosphere of the song, it wasn't loud and nothing really jumped out at you.

This song reminds me of "I'll sleep when I am dead" by set it off, I don't know it just gives of those vibes, love this song btw x

actually i think chara is talking to the player in this song, because it says at the end, "youll always be. part of me." and also think about it, the PLAYER resets, THE PLAYER does all of this, THE PLAYER is the MONSTER. chara is character, the characteristics of you, and it depends on which route you pick that the characteeistics are choosed from

I love how this Genocide song is kind of like from Chara's POV and the other's from Sans'.

Man, Nate is fantastic at capturing the essence of the finality your actions have in the Undertale world. It's particularly satisfying. Although, it feels like this song is almost too short, somehow? Like the ending trailed off when it should've picked back up? i have no idea. I still love it to pieces. Another triumph!

I feel like people will listen to this and think of it as another "chara is evil" thing, but upon analyzing the lyrics, i realized something. This isnt CHARA being evil, but rather its chara being angry at the PLAYER for being evil. "Its YOUR fault." "This land reeks of death and all YOUR broken promises." "YOU cant go back." "I wont lose track." Yes it begins with chara stating that you and they both thirst for blood, however this is actually a lot like jedgement boys theory on chara. They didnt start out evil, however theyre a child. Theyre impressionable. The player teaches them that murdering all of theae monsters is the right thing to do.

I'm assuming its supposed to be Chara to Frisk but lore wise it would be the player to frisk or if you don't think the player is a character (which they are) then Frisk to Chara

Okay, I listened to this a good bit before now, but I'm currently (on pause with) writing my own AU/AT, so this is very relevant. Yes, it could just be typical "oh I'm just evil" fandom Chara, but it could also be seen as Chara basically mocking and demeaning Frisk. Like, them basically going, "Partner, _you're_ the one who decided to pull this, _you're_ the one who made me the way I am, everything here is _your_ fault, and it ain't stopping until you accept that we're _both_ monsters". Yes, Chara is a... _very_ twisted individual, but they ended up that way because of the player/Frisk's actions. Frisk is just a monster, just like Chara... * Just as it's meant to be. =)
