jazmine danielle I kind of think of it as instead of darker side just harder or your actually getting into the game more than before, because I think of the Ruins and Snowdin as worlds to teach you how to play the game.
Actually Undertale has lovely graphics, considering the format. Excellent use of color and atmosphere, and the sprites are packed with personality, down to their smallest animation
The absolute BEST track in the game when it comes to pure atmosphere. The small xylophone sounds that feel like drops of rain coming from above, the distant sounding piano that feel like you're both getting farther away from what came before as well as heading deeper into the mystery that lies past Waterfall. And of course, the echoing throughout the entire track, which perfectly embodies the feeling of being in a massive underground cavern. Waterfall is the best part of Undertale, and this track is a large reason why
this is why I love Toby, every song on the ost sounds perfect for the setting or character. there's nothing I would change on this soundtrack if I could
1:07 This part makes me feel like I've forgotten something important, something that ment the world to me. But everytime i try to remember, the memory just fades farther and farther back... Until theres nothing but that empty guilt of leaving that thing behind.
I disagree with you, but that’s the beauty of it in a way. How one track can give people different interpretations every one different yet meaningful in their own way.
This song creeped me out when I first heard it. But I beleive it's meant to do that. The echo flowers and wall post reveal the monsters pain, their desires to be free, their desires to end their struggle. I think this song captures all of those emotions perfectly.
''Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same... Except you don’t exist? Everything functions without you?... Ha, ha... The thought terrifies me...”
Quite hard to imagine. My friends go on without me without any knowledge, my teammates on my soccer team all win games without me and I am basically never born. Now that terrifies me
I was literally at this moment when I was talking to the yellow monster kid, while playing Undertale earlier and when that monster kid said these lines it literal gave me chills!
«So? Don't you have any wishes to make?» «…Hmm, just one, but… It's kind of stupid.» «Don't say that! Come on, I promise I won't laugh.» «… if I say my wish, you promise you won't laugh at me?» «Of course I'll not laugh!» «Someday, I'd like to climb this mountain we're all buried under. Standing under the sky, looking at the world all around… That's my wish.» *Laughter* «…hey, you said you wouldn't laugh at it!» «Sorry, it's just funny… That's my wish, too.»
This has got to be my favourite track of the whole undertale soundtrack. There's just something about it that creates this magical and mysterious atmosphere...it's really captivating. I get goosebumps every time I listen to it...it's just spectacular and so powerful.
Most people talk about how this song is really good and creates a good atmosphere that they don’t understand how to put into words but I think the reason for this is due to the heavy amount of contrast in every little piece of the song. Using a high pitch , dark pattern, upbeat melody is one example of how the song tells people who play the pacifist ending the beauty of it, but people who play the genocide ending the eerie of it, creating a contradiction in people who have played both.
It's interesting, because I never did the genocide route, but when I played Undertale for the first time (not knowing there were different routes) and heard this song, I felt like there was something more THERE, you know? God I love this game
i take life as thé journey un thé underworld..thé good time i am having with my friends ..all the people i met.. all thé fight ans strugle of thé réal life ..all that looks like i am in the underworld from thé day i was born until i die ..then i van climb to the réal world..which idk about ..
no no no you got it all wrong! look *AHEM* : So don't you have any wishes to make? Only one but it's kinda silly... Don't say that! Come on, I promise I won't laugh! Alright, if I say my wish, you promise you wont laugh? I promise. Someday, I'd like to climb this mountain were all buried under. Standing under the sky, looking at the world all around... That's my wish. *You hear laughter* Hey! Come on, you said you wouldn't laugh!! Sorry, it's just funny...That's my wish too.
+Chris Lambert (Dronz Ma'Tallearch) Actually its a redone version of the ruins theme. I.e the theme for the very first dungeon you wake up in. Ngahh and SOJ also use this leitmotif. :)
***** The reason that comment was there because i was going to talk again about how it was a remix of the ruins theme but i forgot i left that comment before.
popping in 6 years later to drop a comment I wrote about this track a long time ago cuz I like it _This has always been one of the most atmospheric Undertale tracks, in my opinion. There's just something... mythical, primal, grand and wondrous about the whole area. The moment you step into the cavern, you get the feeling that you're entering something vast, something historical; a tableau of muted, faded hope swept away by the inexorable flow of water._ undertale ost got me feelin things
"Hey, you said you wouldn't laugh!" "I'm sorry, it's just that.... that's my wish, too." One of my favorite moments in the game :) EDIT: Also, 1:52 breaks my heart every time, and I don't know why....
This has an ominous vibe that is about like a story far back in history about a tragedy that happened to some people or something and now it’s happening again after so long like an unexplainable mysterious phenomena. Surely it conveys some emotions…?
This song is a mixture of pure fear, joy, anxiety, sadness, wonder, reagality, and so many more mixed into a beautiful song the evokes so much emotion out of 2 minutes
The goddamn whisper-flower room spooked the shit out of me. The way Undyne described it, the flowers echoing eachother until the room is full of mindless babble... spook.
+FEATH DUCK yeah, on pacifist run/neutral run you can just go up to them and listen and it really is neat. I havent gone on Geno yet so I haven't heard them all speaking at once
+Boat - Is this "whisper room" actually a room you can go to in the game? I've completed the game 3 times, and I don't remember any rooms where echo flowers repeat each other like that.
I really don't know what to say about this song. You feel so many emotions at once. Contentedness, loneliness, hope, fear, and many more I cannot put into words. Undertale itself is such a beautiful game. Everything from the graphics to the music to the story to the dialogue. If you are one of those people that say the graphics are bad, then remember that resolution is not everything. Every sprite and animation has so much character put into it. All the colours were selected beautifully as well. If you still think that the graphics are not all that great, then remember that graphics are not always what makes a good game. This is my favourite game right now, has been so for more than four years, and will likely stay in my top 5 most favourite games of all time for life. Undertale is a rare gem. Treasure it well.
"People come to this room to look at the stars and say their dreams..." "I won't let them down" "I'll make everyone's dreams come true!!!" "I WISH I HAD EIGHT LEGS." "THEN, I COULD WEAR FOUR PAIRS OF HOTPANTS!" "..." "I'll make most people's dreams come true!!"
Gotta love how, if you put this track at 2x speed, it's nearly the same as Spear of Justice, Undyne's theme. She is dedicated to guarding this area, isn't she?
- "So? Don't you have any wishes to make?" - "Hmm, just one, but... It's kind of stupid." - "Don't say that! Come on. I promise I won't laugh." - "...Hmm... If I say my wish... You promise you won't laugh at me?" - "Of course I won't laugh!" - "Someday, I'd like to climb this mountain we're all buried under. Standing under the sky, looking at the world all around... That's my wish." (You hear laughter.) - "Hey, you said you wouldn't laugh at it!" - "Sorry, it's just funny. That's my wish too..."
Can you imagine a full, live symphony doing a concert of Undertale music? Sort of like the Pokemon Symphonic Orchestra or the Symphony of the Goddesses. That would be so cool.
The pain in this song just shows how much suffering the monsters have gone through. This song makes it feel like the waterfalls are from the monsters' tears... (This makes me cry everytime I listen to it)
+Lexi I get goosebumps by just listening to this and *"memory"* they are both awesome! I just love the musicbox type sound I think it's called _glockenspiel_
After flowey, the game was for the most part very light and happy (minus Toriel's fight) but when you get to here, I think that the music reminds you that the fun is over. Now we have to focus on our goal, and stay determined.
the answer at this question is very simple, we, the mankind are the real monsters, we kill each other, destroy houses of innocent animals, we even kill them, not to mention we are greedy for money, and don't care of anything else, THE MANKIND SHOULD DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is a bad think but i have to do with just bad people in my entire life, even my own family are monsters, they took away my mother from me when i was just 5 years old and lied me about this, this is the reason why i think the real monsters are the mankind and we should DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@YukiXKohaku i don't know what to say about this, i just wrote this comment because that day was a bad day for me, my own dad was swearing me with no reason and he was drunk, but the fact he was drunk is not an excuse for swearing his own child
@@ionutdaniel133 Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, but usually when I feel bad things about Humans, I remind myself about the good deeds that Humans has done. It restores my faith in Humanity.
Since the release of Deltarune Chapter 2 I've listened to the OST of Undertale just to go down in memory lane, a lot the music made me want to cry because of nostalgia, because I associate each track with an specific moment in the game, and every few months I revisit the OST, and some songs still make me cry. But this is the only song in the game that makes me wanna bawl my eyes out of just how beautiful of a song is.
Esta definitivamente se gana el premio de mi cancion favorita de todo el Soundtrack dd Undertale. Es imposible escribir en este comentario todo lo que me hace sentir
The first time I played undertale, somehow I felt nostalgic, and it's weird because I didn't even lived in the 80s or 90s, I'm from the 2000s, so I shouldn't feel nostalgic for 8-bit or 16-bit games. it's a strange feeling
Toby fox put so much effort into this game. The game is so good: the music, the characters, the lore. It just goes to show how a bad community can destroy a game.
@@masterspark9880 That's why the community is bad. Sans fangirls, shipping and unnecessary AUs. We don't need skele bro incest comics, or Sans AU kissing another Sans AU. The undertale community is shit, but the game is a masterpiece. The game doesn't revolve always around sans, the community should know that.
Waterfall is such a hauntingly beautiful song, it's so hopeful and yet so mysterious, it's almost like you can feel the water. In Geno it genuinely gives me Vertigo.
Aria R. Lyrics Deep down whispers, We can hear them all Your inner voice, What will it tell us? The deepest abyss of your soul It can't hide.. Conflict, turmoil, Unfaltering kindness. Apprehension, Determination All those feelings mixed up, An array of thoughts. Will you fight or show True mercy You have to make that choice Will you save your friends? Escape then Show them the world above Will you set him free, Mercilessly Write your wish in the dust Two sides are playing A tough game An endless tug of war. Which will win? *Savior or murderer?*
@Seesaw41 This is a direct reference to Undertale The Musical, a fanmade project over 4 hours long, consisting of masterfully sung custom lyrics for almost every song in the OST.
I always thought of this song as "Alright. You've started the journey and are now in the middle of it. There is so much more to do, but I know you have it in you. Best of luck. See you on the other side."
Yes, this game along with MGS 3 are perfect examples on how to show the player that they are in the middle of the play. It is an indirect but beautiful way. And when l mean Metal Gear Solid 3, l meant the ladder climb.
I simply adore this game, at first I wasn't sure what the big deal was since practically almost all of my friends were talking about it; I decided to look it up on RU-vid and saw that even Cryaotic had even uploaded a game-through of it (you should go check him out, he's a pretty chill guy). Once I watched the first play-through I thought it was rather interesting. I checked it out myself, and I just wasn't sure why everyone had loved this game I was completely confused. After playing the game multiple times I had began to love the characters personality, and realized how deep the story actually was. This game had made me feel, literally. I ended up loving everything in the game, along with it's ending; it's just the way it was created it is brilliant. The AUs, comics, artists, the OSTs, the characters, the creator of the game himself (Toby Fox), funny Easter eggs, etc. The fan-base is rather friendly but of course all fan-base's have their own side of negativity. What makes me rather disgusted is Undertail (The NSFW version of Undertale, I suggest you do NOT look it up.) But overall, I love this game. I hope it'll be around as long as Homestuck was, and this is coming from someone who used to adore Homestuck for 2-3 years now. I still love the characters though. This game was created in a very clever way.
I really love how when you speed up waterfall, you get a bit of another medium It shows that even because alphys and undyne are complete opposites, they both have the same theme.
This song. It's perfect for it's setting. The beginning makes me think of water drops dropping in a cave, and the B A S S, oh god the bass. I can tell that there's something dangerous here despite the calm and serene beginning, that it isn't safe. And the swell. It only completes the sense of fear brought on by the threat of undyne the undying. It's one of the best background songs in the game, in my opinion.
I am two years late but still feel the call, I agree to a point. I feel as tho to Waterfall goes into a far more imposing and sacred feeling, it's almost as tho the song itself is at the very least implying that this place matters far more then you would. It's gallant pianos strike with feeling of imposing strength. To me piano and drums give me the same impression as watching a entire church parade obstruct a city streets and no one in their right mind would say anything about it. We are merely observers to the caverns greatness and vastness. Infact we only see small portions of the entire "Level" waterfall plays in. All this added with Undyne's presence just seems perfect.
