UNDERTALE - Pacifist Run Sans Battle 

I love how the battle opening quote is just "Sans is here." He didn't appear, he's not blocking the way, he's not attacking, he's just... here. You know. In case you needed him or something.

I'm rather amused by how much effort went into making Sans not actually put in any effort.

What I'm surprised the comments never suggested is Sans noticing that: "Hey, kid, you're acting tense all of a sudden" if you're playing a soulless pacifist route.

You try to FIGHT and he falls over before you can even land a swing and goes; "uggghhh i'm dead how could i be defe *_zzzzzzzz_* "

This is the most utterly in-character I've seen Sans in fan content.

You know, I wish this was in the game. Not just because it's hilarious, but because **SPOILERS** it makes the fight with him in the evil route that much more surprising.

*You feel sans crawling on your back *You politely tell him to get off *He seems amused

I am genuinely disappointed that this isn't a real circumstance in the game. Not only to give the great unused track a use, not only because it'd be a great forshadowing/contrast to his genocide route fight, but because this whole scene is just so PITCH PERFECT Sans. What a fantastic idea. The single bone sliding across the screen with the intense music...it's absolute Toby humor.

This version seems all the more realistic, considering how much of a lazybones he is.

This battle does NOT prepare you for the genocide run lmao

I honestly like how the idea is executed. A lot of fanmade concepts or AUs for Undertale battles tend to make the character(s) involved out to be something they're not, whether it be through cliche or forced dialogue or outlandish scenarios. This, however, fits in perfectly with how sans normally behaves when he's not taking something seriously- he's lighthearted, humorous, and gives off a facade of ignorance and incompetence.

I'd love if, when you tried to hit him, it would miss, but he'd pretend he got hit anyway, and then go "welp, I'm going to grillby's".

*Gets hit by San's Attack* Sans: *Cancels attack and damage.* "You know as flattered as I am that you're trying to make this easy for me, I realized that if I beat you I'd have to carry you back. Ehhh, I don't want to do that."

I love how the video ends with him saying "welp... that was exciting" it fits so perfect that it it's actually funny lmao

Pacifist run: What the teachers teach Genocide run: The actual test

FIGHT!!!!! ...miss. "i appreciate your enthusiasm kid, but i'm not gonna just stand there and take it. let's hurry up and get this over with."

I wish this was actually in the game so you could do this and say "Wow, Sans is so easy to beat!". By time you do genocide you're relieved that you have Sans left because "His attack is just one small bone, this'll be easy." Then the real fight begins

nearly 7 years later and I still love the idea of a Pacifist Sans battle being like this

Can you imagine what would happen if Sans hadn't made that promise to Toriel? Fighting him right outside the ruins would have sucked.

This actually would have fit perfectly into the game lol. I love how he doesn't even try. Completely on brand. I think it would have made the no mercy fight even more shocking and impactful for players, honestly.

It's truly rare to see a fanwork where Sans is so in-character. This is the kind of thing I suspect Toby would've put in the game if he'd thought of it!

I wish there was a Sans fight in Pacifist run. I feel like it would have helped his character a bit, put the amazing song to good use and they could play off some stuff from his Genocide fight. Like he could say "boy I'm having a bad time" or something lol.

You know what makes this perfect? The fact that (if this was a thing) you can probably say no to Sans and he'd just be like "oh alright then i guess we can just say you beat me. i wanted to go grillby's anyways." and you'd just skip the fight.

Sans is winking with the wrong eye, normally he winks closing his left eye (the one on the right) but only in the genocide route does he wink closing his right eye (the one on the left) keeping the stronger eye open looking at you

This was... absolutely in character. It was also flawlessly animated, as far as I can tell. And YES! The Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans finally gets used for a fight with Sans. I think if the player runs into his attack, he should stop the fight right there and be like "that's enough work for one day"

(Four harmless bones slide across the bottom of the screen.) FIGHT: (Sans dodges.) "impressive. if you've survived this long, you must be real tough." (Five harmless bones slide across the bottom of the screen.) FIGHT: (Sans dodges.) "but this is it, kid. surrender or face my special attack." This is amazingly made and as much as I would love this to have been a real thing in Undertale, wouldn't it be weird if someone tried to fight him and he dodges? That would've been unexpected to say the least so it's definitely fitting to keep his fight exclusive to the genocide run because dodging is solely special to him.

I love how Sans is too lazy to attack, so he is tecnically not attacking

I love how anticlimatic the fight is because Sans doesn't want to fight you on Pacifist runs. That and he's lazy.

Frisk flipping around and staring at the camera at the end made this even better.

This would really work in pacifist because then genocide runners would be even MORE caught off guard once they reach his fight

Y'know. I've always thought of something quite strange. *"Cruelty Run".* The idea is this: Every enemy has to be killed off-guard. Meaning bosses such as Toriel have to weakend by _almost_ sparing them. This fight would happen if you spare Papyrus during a Cruelty Run. And during this fight, after telling Sans a joke, you get him off guard and actually land a hit against him. And that, my friends, is how Disbelief Papyrus should happen. Ideas? Opinions?

He just brings up the easiest attacks like he doesn't want to really hurt you
