Dude! I kid you not when I say that the red walls legit gave me PTSD. Because later on, when I was fighting the robots in steamworks, I was still trying to avoid making contact with the walls even though it was safe now.
I like how unlike the other bosses she doesn’t say anything during the fight except for the intro and outro. I think this is how the other monsters fell when engaging in a a fight with Clover and he doesn’t say anything they just attack with an intent to kill. Just like how Ceroba is dead set on killing Clover.
When this song kicked in, for some reason, it empowered ME. I hadn't died up to that point, and the moment the Enemy Retreating leitmotif kicked in, subconciously it secured "I'm gonna do this deathless, or I'm not doing it at all". And then I did. Deathless Ceroba. Goddamn
did you know the sprite for ceroba is the same in pacifist as in genocide, but her idle animation is faster in geno and it has a redder hue instead of white
Ceroba is probably my favorite character. Her backstory and battles are top tier in my opinion and she's the character that made me fall in love with the game. Don't get me wrong, the other characters are great, but I think Ceroba stands out the most.
Clover: Your attacks are hard, but you are limited with the borders! Ceroba: Oh yeah? THEN THE BORDERS ARE MY ATTACK *BORDERS BECOME RED* Clover: S H I T
I had a bad habit for yellow where I would only move the minimum amount to dodge attacks, I got it from undertale, because it both felt cool and was usually a good idea to dodge follow ups. Then in yellow you won’t have time to dodge follow ups if you’re not already moving when the attack starts. By the time I hit this fight, I had managed to kill that habit mostly, getting as far away from attacks as possible, in *perfect* time for the game to start punishing wall hugging! This isn’t a complaint, I just think it’s funny
Me personally, I realized right away the walls were doing damage since they were flashing red like my max HP, but it still took me a bunch of tries to beat her. Really reminded me of the Undyne the Undying fight, which I loved.
really good bossfight, my method for learning the boss is to not heal until at second phase, so i have to learn the patterns of the boss to not get hit as often so i have enough hp for what comes next
A song that plays when you fight the final genocide boss that represents the human rather than the boss themselves? Nah, I think retribution fits that role better
