Underwater SPEARING Crappies in Northern Wisconsin!

On today’s episode of Wisconsin fisherman I wanted to get some spearing done. I figured I might as well swim if I was gonna get wet so I did just that! Paired up with the spear I was able to get a few fish speared during the storm!

I'm in southern wi and I just started spear fishing. Do you have any tips on how to find where the pan fish like to hang (i don't have sonar)

I had a chance to do this in Puerto Rico and now I’m in love. I’m bummed our cabin is in sawyer county and it looks like it’s prohibited there. I’d still love to get into it though! You have any lakes outside of sawyer county you’ve gone? Also wondering Where you got your spear from? Thanks!

Nice! The spear is homemade, There are many lakes next county over that are great for spearing.

What were the white egg looking things? Don’t you need a diver down flag for safety? Wearing that wet suit you may get mistaken for a giant loon. Great video Kyle stay safe.

The eggs were turtle eggs that didn’t make it in the hole. You only need a flag If you’re more than 150’ off the shoreline

You need a dive flag. Otherwise someone might run you over coming to check your boat. Also if you go far from the boat.

Nope if you’re within 150’ of shore you don’t need a flag. I may get one just to be safe. Thanks for your concern.

i do this in SE wisc on a few clear water lakes. the sights r incredible down there. the panfish afterwards for a fish fry is just a bonus. seems to me i remember some kind of regulation that states that the spear head needs some kind of barb on them though? have u heard anything like this?

@@Wisconsin_Fisherman well that's good to know, i couldn't really find much for info on regs other than u can spear rough fish and panfish, local limits apply.... that's about it.

@@Wisconsin_Fisherman i use a 6' fiberglass pole spear with a 3 prong paralyzer tip. seems to do really well and its not overly expensive. however I'm replacing the rubber bands every other year.
