Good stuff Steve & Amanda love these underwater videos watched the Matrix underwater videos too so good to see what is going on underwater instead of an educated guess.
Great video Steve. Certainly confirmed what we suspected about how the rigs worked. What surprised me was how much stuff the fish had stirred up. I knew that fish feeding on the bottom coloured it up and swirled the bait around, but didn’t think it would be the same when shallow fishing. As you noted some fish must be picking bait off the deck. No doubt the more bait you feed the more gets through the fish to the deck. Definitely need a bottom rig as well.
This is an excellent series of videos. Hopefully you have many more up your sleeve. The conclusion about slowing the jigga down is something that Kristian Jone and Paul Holland (amongst others have said). The jigga should be relatively slow falling, lowering it at the same rate as your feed, not constantly banging it up and down as its name suggests. It is exactly the same as an overshotted rig but designed to get around the venues that ban overshotting.
Great under water footage Steve I noticed you had a back shot above the over shotted rig does this help keep that rig straighter look forward to the next video good stuff well explained 👋👋👍👍👍
Fantastic insight to shallow fishing, maybe a light slapped over float on a shortish lash would of caught those ide above your hook bait. Great watch ,learned lots ,thanks 👌
Great video, thanks. Personally don’t like the principle of overshotted or no shot rigs. I did feel with the first rig it was more effective when the bait was falling through the water and when it was static the fish often swam past it. Liked the counting to 3 on the jigga, something I’ll try.
Hello John, We use the CarpSight Margin cam ⬇️ www.anglingdirect.co.uk/carpsight-margin-cam-realtime-underwater-fishing-camera-kit?queryID=8423cbd4cd25866f4e5ab3ec7d6b8793&objectID=102594&indexName=live_ad_uk_products
For me match anglers seem to have forgot the strap that we used to wrap around our legs to Support, raise and lower the rig whilst feeding with the pole, the rig must fall amongst the feed constantly, little and very often.
I've never seen this strap before, I can see how that would be useful for anglers who struggle to feed and hold the pole at the same time. Regards, Steve.
@@AnglingDirectTV It lays open all sorts of questions as to how can trick if you like those mouthing fish into taking the maggot more positively,i.e types of rigs, feeding rates and quantities, taking in to consideration water clarity, water temperature. I do think there is a time and a place for all types of shallow rigs, for me its how they chose to feed governs it. Anyway enough waffling. A very enjoyable video Steve. Thank you
It's a fair comment! With the limitations of the underwater filming, we had to fish on the far shelf to capture the footage. Unfortunately, this means the sun is behind us and facing the camera, it's one of those things we cannot prevent at this venue. Regards, Steve.
