Thank you for allowing a comment. This music was seeded way back in my past some 30 years ago. Music.. no comment.. thank you for saving me from suicide
90's Saturday mornings after dancing all night and going mental, burning out off the last fumes of Friday night's LSD-- sun rise and I feel so lonely, so dirty, so weary... and the epic journey back home to sleep... to dream... Saturday evening, maybe a shake and some fries at the 50's diner, takin' it real easy... Sunday Beautiful Burnout.. and then just five days of school, before-- Friday on the train again, back Downtown, buy a hit, pay admittance, dance all night... rinse and repeat. Anthem of my youth.
Ya but for me it was hangover days walking to work as software QA engineer (lol!!! Seems weird to say now!). And just getting to work and getting it done with this song in the background. I recall closing my eyes, leaning my head back in a chair and writing test cases from the software I memorized in my head….. How did we all make it through all these years?! ❤😂🎉🎉🎉
@@stefaniacontessa I don’t now what’s going in my life. I’m 26 and I’m lost. I can feel you words like a living one day and again again. I’m repeat this song everything go my mind. Life is a mistery 💚
@Beverlylowie it's so weird I got a comment on my comment from you tonight 😅 I just had a baby last year at 44 and she loves music. Guess what comes up tonight? Dirty Epic! I'm pretty sure my 7 month old was digging the song!!!
wow. this is still my favorite Underworld tracks straight from an album. Too bad they never perform this live to my knowledge. Karl's melodic vocals on some old school Rick beats. Classic.
Amén …. That's right..! It makes me cry and open in the channel.. that melancholic voice of Karl yes sir .. that melody that surrounds you and between pianos and dots and surprises you every time it cuts and goes up to catch you again in a loop.. 10 minutes of an inexplicable connection for me.. it's incredible .. In December 2019 I saw them thanks to the universe in Wembley arena and they didn't touch it no.. 💔I guess because of its long duration but for me without a doubt its best jewel and my favourite treasures not to mention the first 🙌🏼
Rez and Cowgirl were for losing your shit...Dirty Epic was for those dark late nights for me as a brooding teen connector connector connector Also, didn't remember this until now but this album was far enough back for me from when I had inherited my dad's wood and aluminum Pioneer "hi-fi" analogue receiver from the 70's. I knew I would be the one to blow it--the bass drops at the first of this track buried the needles lit by those lamps ;)
'Listen to your eyes you said, But all I could see was Doris Day'... Doris Day, born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff, passed away at the age of 97 on May 13th, 2019 in Carmel Valley, California... Besides "Dirty Epic" she was referred to in two records that peaked at #1 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! {1984} and "We Didn't Start The Fire " by Billy Joel {1989}... She was also referred to in "Le De Da" by Ringo Starr {1999}, "Dig It" by the Beatles {1970}, and "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee" from the musical 'Grease' {1978}... May she R.I.P.
Me and my best Friend used to listen to this track and the Album when it came out in the 1990s. This song reminds me of him. I cut him off because he got hooked on Cocaine and started heavy drinking. And I could not help him. We were best friends for over a decade. And I miss him a lot. But I can not forgive that he offered me Cocaine. That he offered me to get hooked on the Drug that caused him so many problems. And our friendship.
Ride the sainted rhythms on the midnight train to Romford... Connector Connector... I'm so dirty, and the light it blinds my eyes... You're so dirty, and the light it blinds my eyes. Here comes Christ on crutches...
Thanks so much for posting this. Had this on a Wax Trax! sampler called Afterburn 94 or something. Always liked the track; never knew there was a video, and it's really good too.
Ride the sainted rhythms on the midnight train to Romford, he says. Anyone who's had to take the last train out of the city's eastern terminals back to Havering on a Saturday night knows there's nothing romantic about it
I ❤ Underworld Very Much So.! But, Why Does He Have To Say, "Here Comes Christ On Crutches.?" I Never Understand That, Being In Songs. I Guess Each To There Own... ?
