I cannot remember the date, or time, or place., but it was in a field in the south of England in the early 90s. The blood was rushing through my veins, the lasers were pointing to a distant place, the stobes and lights enveloped me, the bass was agitating every ounce of my soul, i remember every molicule of my body entering into hyperspace and being mixed with the love of the universe. This tune takes me back there everytime, it makes me cry with joy. WOW!!!
Every hit is your last hit when your junkie. You've had enough, can't go on anymore. But I'll just have one more. This will be the last, really the last one. I've had hundreds of last hits. Heroin is the worst.
Back in my younger days when me and my brothers and my mates were well into the mitzy turbos, the Michelin men and whatever other E's were around in the mid 90s this track took you places, never seemed to end, just a glorious time to experience. The 90s was a fantastic decade
1999 Millennium Eve, Gatecrasher 2000, no pills around, freezing cold, 25,000 outside in a big tent. My mate scores some pills, Sasha spins this & the evening was on. Lucky enough to see them live at Gatecrasher NEC with my Mrs - incredible.
Magenta Moon - You were at GC2000?! No way! Can you believe it was over 20 years ago. As you can see from my profile name & pic, I'm still dedicated to Crasher!
quoting Hunter S Thompson there... he was right... but he was talking about the 60s.... for our generation it was the 90s... a feeling of optimism that is completely dead now
timeless , a real masterpiece , underworld at its best , this tune will never grow old and always brings great memories flooding back , take my advice throw on a decent set of headphones set at max and sit back and enjoy , i do !!!!!
Turn the light off, lie down, this on loop the Kenwood. That could cure any blues for me… the rest of the world felt like it was light years away. Some memories.
One of my more profound musical discoveries was with this track! I first heard it when I first watched "Trainspotting" on video around 1996-97, and it got my attention with its groove--but most of my attention then was distracted (or more so hijacked) by the surreal and mildly disturbing scene in the film that this tune accompanies, baby and all :). I had mostly forgotten the beautiful details of the song (I remember it going well with the scene in the film!). So when I borrowed the "Born Slippy.NUXX" EP that this track is on from a friend around 2000-01, and heard it again, it just opened up even furthermore for me emotionally as far as enjoying the track , such a rediscovery! It was about as profound and epiphanous as when I heard for the first time on the same EP the "Deep Pan" track--both tunes felt like they'd just opened up and activated new neurons in my brain! :D
Aye, well said & can't fault your positive feedback regarding this classic. From it suiting the Film scene perfectly to rediscovering it.. TOP stuff/ *TUNE* ✊
Just saw them live at the Hollywood bowl last night & this was the definition of a spiritual experience for me. So grateful they defined the genre and are still spreading the live.
the music and these comments always makes me feel as if im part of something i will never completely understand, iv loved this music so long and its effect on the direction of my mind flowers endlessly into new/greater concepts and idesa
Still amazing. Blew mind how perfect it was for Trainspotting at the time in 1996 at 20. Still blows my mind how good this track is.. timeless. And I'm almost 48. Still love ❤️
This reminds me of when I started taking drugs, Ecstasy and speed. Trying to come down after a party in 96. Lying in my bed at 7 in the morning waiting for my mum and dad to wake up and make a cup of tea while I was lying sweating after being at a house party. Taxi home at 6 and still fked at 8 in the morning. Wait until the hoover starts going at 10 and fk off out to the pub. ☹️😞🤣
@@bipbipbopbop It's "Ride the train...let me ride the train...Ride the train..."etc. you can hear the "ride the train" part near in the background of Dark & Long (Original/LP version). This, Dark Train, is a remix of Dark and Long.
Its almost 30 years since first time heard this track and every time it does same feeling to me. Its techno symphony, and even its hard to tell my top 5 tracks of all the time, this one is always rated so damn high.
A masterpiece of electronic music. When I heard this for the first time as a younger man I thought it was hot and that has not changed a bit. This is all time classic stuff. I still very much enjoy this now even with my party days in the rearview mirror.
I remember this track years ago. It never gets old. That hypnotic beat allways gets me, even now, when I am not so young anymore :( With this track I am again at parties and young.
How I managed to miss Underworld until recently is an utter mystery. I feel embarrassed! Great music, great performers, Underworld are less a band and more a revelation!
@@jamiesmekkeno6805 I saw them live at Wembley at the end of 2019 just before the lockdown. One of the best shows I have seen! I have bought everything now and they are a regular part f my listening. Wonderful stuff!
What a tune. I first heard this on some random dance cassette tape I bought in the 90s. It was the end track. Just went on and on and was so moody and repetitive that it just hit me. 43 now, don't think there has been a month in my life when I haven't listened to it. Can't be beaten for me
This song kind of gives me the chills and has an intense vibe to, probably because it's the soundtrack to that disturbing scene from trainspotting where Mark has those hallucinations from going through withdrawal.
