Well, I’m not so sure JJ wants to coach the lakers. He doesn’t need the money. It’s kind of insane that the lakers are trying to persuade a guy to come coach for them who has no coaching experience, who also isn’t even trying to get the job. Someone sees something in JJ they like. JJ has flaws but other coaches, players, and basketball minds have all said multiple times that they see JJ being a good coach.

Assistant to who? I don’t think this is an issue of jj and his experience so much as it is that there are not any good options. JJ at the very least has the strategic mind for coaching. Multiple high profile coaches and players have been saying JJ will be a good coach for several years now. I think the most important thing comes down to this, will the players respect him. If they respect him then he is going to be fine.
Being someone who loves 90s basketball, it's sickening to watch these shows, listening to the crap they spew out. Can't believe how Keyshawn Johnson has sold his soul and bought into this era of BS.. must be the money.
Why not take AD and see if OKC will give up some of those draft picks for him for the future and maybe take those picks and either draft a good player or use them to trade for one

JJ is a win win move. Either he is good as coach or he gets eaten by the traditional media and the players media, either way is gonna make for a good show.
Coach K is invaluable in his advisory role. Lakeshow has Laker history down to a T. Allie Clifton for great insider info. Reddick, everyone's nervous. Jeanie Buss detests changing coach's this often.
I would love to see JJ become the HC because then you will get to see how much of a bud him and Lebunny is and how long they will continue those podcast together, and secondly I don’t think all 32 coaches would want Lebunny on their team because they really want their job.
Coach K was key to the U.S winning when LeBron was on the team. Coach K brought Kobe in to coach LeBron and team as we had lost to other countries past few games. Kobe showed them a bunch of tricks, and how Europe plays- how to counteract that. Lebron now has a Kobe style show with Reddick (Kobe's show was called 'Detail." Have been waiting for Lebron to mention it but he never has.
JJ Reddick is the next long term coach of the Lakers with 15 years in the league , his knowledge of the game far exceeds many of the other candidates being considered. His initial earnings would be minimal, he will be their long term coach for years to come; he's a players coach and will manage the locker room along with LeBron and AD' s input. The need for two real bigs is a must along side AD, Valanciunas, Drumond, Dwight etc (ie 2020 chip) a third six man, Dramond/Bobby Portes etc. We need a two way guard to handle Jamall Murry and Anthony Edwards; Demar/Donovan/Caruso/ Kelly Ubre/Marcus Smart/ JaMonte Murray/Bogden/Bones Hyland.. we have enough picks, assets and money to make it happen.

@@abzda1700 I mean kuzma isn't doing too bad, dlo is back with the Lakers and sometimes plays well. Caruso did ok with the bulls. Lonzo is still a bust in my opinion but people seem to like him. They had the potential to be a good team.

I'll consider hiring coach K himself. But here's the thing, I don't think coach K would wanna coach this generation of players and also I don't think the league want a historical old school great coach. They want someone who would go along with this cupcake circus they call the NBA.

Rachel is so wrong. The Lakers are about multiple championships. The only coach that has had multiple championships recently is Steve Kerr. Even coach spolstra has not won since LeBron left😂 longevity doesn’t always work. Look at Popovich. He has been sorry since Duncan left. It’s only by name he has his job. Popovich is actually one of the worst coaches if you go by record. Malone has won 1. He will probably win two. So you really only have kerr and malone at that point
