Keyshawn. If the Bears wanted to run the ball then they wouldn’t have gotten Dj Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze, like imagine getting all those weapons for your #1 pick to be a team that wants to run the ball.
Idk you think the rookie is going to throw 60% of the time this coming season? I think protecting him with a run balance isn’t a bad idea, run with the QB too on option plays, with pass options, all out of run based looks. Quick passes in shotgun and play action passes are probably more comfortable for the QB, not detailed progression routes from under center and whatnot. You can’t just run all shotgun pass plays, you don’t know how the rookie receiver will be, and Keenan Allen is old. These might be pretty good weapons overall, but it’s not like these are receivers that are going to succeed in a 60%+ pass offense.
@@ASnareM I get that, but I doubt the Bears are going into the offseason, draft, and this season wanting to run the ball more with all of the receivers they have gotten and getting rid of Fields for Caleb Williams
@@caydenantrim2156 overall I agree that I think they would like to be more pass oriented, or at least more successful in the passing game. But it is definitely true that in the past, the bears were a run heavy / defense team. I think it is also true that you can want to have great WRs and be still a run balanced or run focused team. I’m a Seahawks fan and it worked for years that way with several great weapons. It might be a bit of an outdated strategy, but Shane Waldron just came from the Seahawks, and seeing his calls… he has good stuff between the 20s, but he struggles in the red zone and when backed up. He ran almost every time on 1st down and a lot of the time on 2nd down too. I don’t think you add Shane Waldron for air raid offense, personally. But, I can see getting better WRs with the hope that when you do pass in a run heavy / run balanced offense, you have a greater chance at completing passes because you have (1) hopefully a better passing QB and (2) hopefully better WRs. I don’t think the overall scheme will change that much and I don’t know that Chicago is trying to turn themselves into a pass-heavy offense necessarily. Maybe they will later on, but I don’t think they are going to this season. They will be searching for a receiver to replace Keenan Allen soon because of his age, and DJ Moore is good but he’s not some game breaking talent that teams don’t have some type of answer for. If you gear up for pass-heavy offense, you’re going to be stuck searching for weapons the same way Chicago was stuck searching for a quarterback. It makes more sense to balance it out and hope to compete in the division.
Man you aint lying imo! I think the bears honestly are treating him like he will be a above average rookie out the gate like make them at least a playoff team 1st yr. Caleb is going to be a bust mark my words they are sitting here saying that THE BEARS are saying they are trying to get him used to playing under center, play action etc that means he isnt READY...I never seen a READY QB needing to be taught that. They are going simply by his abilities and not paying attention to anything else.
It's gonna be crazy to watch when everyone realizes he's just a black Johnny football. People mentioning him with Mahomes now. When all is said and done he'll be mentioned with Ryan leaf instead. He will be on the mt Rushmore of busts. Dudes greatest attribute is running the scramble drill, that shit don't work
Also Keshawn wrong I don’t think they will fire eberflus if they have a not so good season! They already pretty much said they want to avoid doing that cycling of coaches and are striving for continuity.
I got Caleb leading the nfl in turnover this season love the guy as a player just got the feeling like he should have stayed one more year in college to clean up them ints and crucial 4th q mistakes Oklahoma lost some head scratching games the last two seasons because of him
Keyshawn acting like Caleb is elementary and he’s learning football for the first time lol. Dude is not a good sports analyst. Same guy that at times was saying Justin Fields should have been kept 😂🐻⬇️
Caleb and his dad practice under center since he was 12 so he would be ready for the NFL if this was my job I think I would know that if can find that information I know KJ could?🤷🏻♂️🤯🔫
Because they annoited this guy and he's not that good they should've traded that pick more 1st rd draft picks it was not the qb fault they lost alot of games u chose caleb because u think he mahomes hes not that accurate he couldn't dominate the pac 12 with the best team and lost games not his fault but hey yall got em so well see in 2 years of he don't lose all his confidence in season 1 3-14 record 2024
I don't like Keyshawn at all, mainly because of his hate for Brock Purdy. But I think in this instance, he's got a valid point. The reason I say that is because he's a usc receiver that played with the best. Williams is a qb who came out of usc that really wasn't that good... why? Because the pac-12 with the exception of Washington and Oregon is trash. He got his @$$ handed to him by powerhouse teams. This is not college and the NFL is gonna be looking to welcome him the hard way.
Keyshawn is explaining football to Skip and Skip is like hmmm nah… this is so stupid lol. And yall are mad he’s talking more where he SHOULD be talking more. Skip has never even played a sport
keyshawn is right. you have to know football .even tho this guy was pick number 1 there is a lot that he hass to learn ass a nfl qb. that iss just the game. this iss not college. there is a lot more to read.
Bears should have kept Fields. The kid was improving when he got the proper weapons. The year before they used Fields like a damn RB. Like, how's Justin going to develop if you have him running powers and draws? Hell, his last game as a Bear, the O.C had Fields attempt just 16 passes with 11 competitions. That's when I knew he was gone, it was like they were limiting his exposures to hits the last game. This is why the Bears has never had a QB pass for 4K yards in a season. Not even old Jay Cutler hit this mark.
@stevenwilliams1140 Nah, the Bears can't develop a QB. Who has the Bears developed? They trade away Kyle Ortan for Jay Cutler who was developing. Rex Grossman was ok, but brittle as hell causing too many injuries. The fools drafted Mitch Tribitchski when they could have drafted Patrick. Cade McKnow they got rid of in two years. Jim Miller was average. Jay Cutler was good but not elite. He regressed when he went to the bears. Even the SB winning QB Jim McMan I think was a horrible QB. They won with the running game and on defense like Trent Dilfer has a SB with the Ravens. Like I said before, the Bears have never had a 4K passer in their 100 plus year history. They don't develop QBs, and move off young talent turning the corner. Fired a coach with a winning record and the like the Chargers. Too impatient, look at the Packer's. On their third QB in 31 years, not accounting for injuries. None of this two years, three years, and done crap. If either one of the Packers QBs were on the Bears, they would have been traded or cut in 3 years.
Fields even with all these new weapons wouldn't have been good he lost the bears more games by being too slow to reading the defense bad turnovers ect.
He’s definitely gonna be a bust lol bro stay doing the most and probably can’t back it up. Just be humble and glad you made it to the league, because a lot don’t.
@@TheChitownkid95 “damn near” both have good offensive coordinators they offensive line about the same bears have a slight edge over them just bc they added Keenan Allen
this mf out here making his wr's do ginyu force poses and shit. gonne LOSE THE LOCKER ROOM. kid is being hailed up by people who want to "spread the message" but all i see is a mid grade backup who rolls out of the pocket and throws off his back foot all the time for no reason. i dont see him making amazing reads either. this guy has joe burrow hype and zero actual evidence his skillset will pan out. reeks of disney prince crowning by espn bc they want a story to run with. i dont buy it. i think this guys gonna be average af, struggle in the cold, struggle as a leader, get undue media attention, and end up being a colin kapernick mk 2. media darling bc he fits a story, but other than that not a starter past his initial contract.
@@Ebonysails the goofy take, is believing the bears picked a good qb over and over for decades and everytime make excuses for years until he isn’t on the team anymore, then say he was trash after all them years. It’s crazy before the fields trade I only seen 1 bears fan admit that fields wasn’t good, literally 1 and I am constantly arguing with bears fans believe that
Stop making excuses for these bum ass QB’s coaches are coaches for a reason, it seem like anytime is a black QB there is a ton of excuses on how “they didn’t know what to do with him” maybe he just ant a QB? Or a good one?? Nahh can’t be that tho… Caleb Williams is going to be a bust, they should’ve taken Jayden Daniel’s 100%
