As a Mavs fan skip is so wrong… Luka can be a diva but the reason it didn’t work last year was because they had Dwight powell at center with a front court of Reggie bullock and Josh green. We are a deeper team.
Not to mention the trade came mid season and completely disrupted the flow of the team. They didn't have time to find a way to play together which is why Luka just gave him the ball to do his thing. Skip is just concern trolling at this point. He did the same thing with the Lakers, picked them to win despite knowing they couldn’t so he can talk about how disappointed he is.
Luka is a beast but Kyrie not so much. Kyrie is not the Kyrie he was. He only scored 12 points. At one whole quarter he busted a klay and didn't score at all. Something is up with him. Luka though is an MVP.
He's consistent and talking heads who don't know basketball find that appealing. Luka puts up 73 on 75% shooting with 10 reb and 7 assists and gets no respect, Shai gets 30 a night by playing one on one, deriving to the basket, and pushing off then waiting for the friendly whistle and his free throws. I wouldn't put him in the top 5 point guards because 6 assists a game is not an elite player. But people like the way he portrays himself with his quiet, consistent style and reward him was over-praise.

They were #1 because they were the healthiest team in the league and between beating the bad teams and beating teams with normal injuries to key players, they racked up meaningless wins. They played a fully healthy Dallas ONE TIME this season and lost by 30. They are the softest #1 team in either conference I've ever seen.

When a team leads 95% 0r 100% of a game and by mostly double digits dominate the boards excellent in blocks and then say if my team plays the same way as game four they can win this? What game is he watching? Last 2 games where not lead changing it was clear dominance. Only thing that kept the games close were unforced turnovers and poor free throw shooting. Luka has not been playing professional basketball since he was 13. You literally aren’t allowed to sign a professional contract until you are 16. He signed an academy contract with Real Madrid to play for their academy teams which is youth basketball.

As a okc fan i think both teams have been playing great defense against each other the mavs have been slightly better but okc missing so many open opportunities too sga need somebody else to step up if we were to win the mavs role players doing they job this series fasho
But i feel like even if we lose people should still give credit to a team taking one of the best backcourt duos this far in a series being this young but we will see how it turn out im hopeful we can force a 7 but ik its gonna be hard beating the mavs at home with this momentum

The lack of logic on this show is ridiculous....even by sports talk standards. The Mavs have dominated (even with Luka barely able to shoot) for 3 full games and 45 minutes of the 4th. OKC has dominated 1 game and 3 minutes. It's not that Dallas can't lose, but they have dominated virtually all of this series and OKC is going to have ENORMOUS pressure because if they lose they sit until October. It's easily 80% chance that Dallas wins because their defense isn't going to take the day off so they just need 3 out of 7 people to step up with decent games, and no matter what Luka will get the role players some layups or dunks to go with dozens of open jumpers. The Mavs normally take care of the ball but had 8 more turnovers than OKC and STILL beat them by 12.

I feel bad about Skip and on his take on his hometown OKC. He's just grasping on straws right now. I get that Shai will do Shai things but OKC doesn't really have anyone else as a consistent help for him. Chet is showing his rookieness however great he is. Williams is not as consistent as they would want to be. And the 3s are not falling. While the Mavs so far are just trying to feel the game. Game 4 was a fluke. The Mavs won't shoot 50% from the free throw again and they won't give up 35 pts in the 4th again. With a rested and in his right mindset Luka, 13-0 Kyrie, fresh legs DJJ and PJ,homecourt advantage, Mavs' experience of closing out series and OKC's lack of experience on having their backs against the wall, I'd take the Mavs anyday.
