You are not wrong but to be fair PJ never seen a playoff game before and Gafford is not a matchup problem for Boston so unless Kyrie can find some magic beans this gonna end in 5
Especially the blocks. For a whole team to only have 1 block the entire game is a disgrace. That's why the Celtics should attack more. They have no shot blocker.
People say Celtics are live or die by the 3 team but when you look at it just Derek White is constantly jacking up three's .. everybody else can get buckets without it if necessary
Celtics were picked to be there the whole season. The mavs were 50-1 at one time. If the super team can't sweep the new team mavs it will be a major embarrassment to the city of Boston 😮
Kyrie was like they got my number as of rn. At 0-11 in his last 11 games against them they got his cell number, social security number, tag number, and routing number.
The difference between the Celtics and Mavs is that the Mavs need to rely upon Luka and Kyrie to both have outstanding performances in order for them to win. The Mavs are tough when they are both on their game, but there’s too much room for error. If even one of them are off they don’t stand a chance. The Celtics have so many different players who can step up if their stars are off…and if everyone is on it’s an absolute domination like last night
Only whole team was missing good looks to be fair. So many open 3s being missed. If a few had landed, without Kyrie being Kyrie, this would have been a closer game
@@brendonbenesi8614To be fair, a few Mavericks players have shot way above their regular standards from deep this postseason and might be coming down to Earth a bit on the biggest stage.
You're right. The Celtics at their worst performance are tied up games. That's why they had difficulty beating the Pacers. The Pacers are just as deep as the Celtics but Celtics had the experience that the Pacers were lacking and Haliburton got hurt as well. The fact that anyone can score on their starting line also makes defending them near impossible because that eliminates double teams because if you leave a Celtic open they can start the 3 barrage or invade the paint. So whomever is with Portzingis is on their own and too much aggression puts them in foul trouble.
@@brendonbenesi8614 The 3s wouldn't have made a difference because they were being stopped defensively. They took every option away from Luka besides himself and him alone won't be enough. A healthy Celtics is like 7 vs 5 men teams.
@@nocturne311 they have but overall the mavs are a pretty good 3pt shooting team... Boston overall was abt. average but the Mavs were wayyyyyy below (their avg.)
It feels like they're overreacting but it's only because they are finally treating Boston the way they should have from day 1. Boston has been a dominant force all season.
Smh.. idk how they see both teams on paper and pick the Mavs! Their role players can’t score like that while Celtics role players can drop 20 any night!
A lot of people got stuck in the in the moment the Celtics have one of the deepest benches in the NBA. Yes, the Mavericks have Kyrie and Luca, but the Celtics have five guys that can go off any single night.
I agree with Andraya’s take here…Even if Kyrie had a good game, they just didn’t have any answer for the Boston Celtics on both ends of the floor. The Celtics did whatever they wanted and had whatever type of mismatch they wanted. The 3 point shot that didn’t fall were mostly uncontested
@@killerman9309 this cope is just sad bro the Cs are deeper than the Mariana trench one player not playing or having a bad game doesn't make a difference. That's why the Mavs can't win.
If he got it going in the 3rd when they got it down to 8 they coulda had a shot but he was in his head and they wasn’t letting him get anything at the rim
I mean it’s not too far fetched it’s just the Celtics are super stacked. Even “good” teams aren’t this stacked. Porzingis, Tatum, and brown are all star caliber players. Their role players are also defenders that can score as well. Gonna be very tough for the Mavs. If Luka and kyrie beat this team it’ll be a legendary run but idk it’s looking bad. Lively played horrible, so did gafford. Pj Washington was ok, he’s the only one from the role players from the Mavs that was actually pushing and not folding in the moment. Kyrie played horrible but I don’t expect him to keep playing like that the problem is after this blow out if the games are close the Mavs are gonna regret loosing this game this badly because the Celtics made it look easy
Derrick White and Jrue Joliday might be the best defensive backcourt in the league.... When they put the clamps down its hard to penetrate that lane, then with a 7'3 center clogging the lane, the Celtics are going to be hard to beat... And Tatum didn't even go off.. I see this being done in 6 max, 4-2 Boston.. Dallas doesn't have enough firepower.
Perk spoke facts. Jalen Brown has been getting disrespected leading up to the finals with all the Luka, Tatum, Kyrie talk. He's the best two-way player on the floor. KP is up there too.
Getting KP/Horford to guard Washington and Tatum to guard Lively/Gafford was genius. If Luka tries to put KP/Horford in the pick n roll, they are happy to close out on him because Washington isn't a lob threat. If he tries to get a screen from Gafford/Lively, then Tatum switches onto him.
Kyrie has to show up. As a matter of fact, both need to show up every game and role players need to step up to go equally against that loaded Celtics team
@@Rushking20the Mavs beat a fully healthy wolves team that was a top 3 seed in west. That wolves team was better than the clippers. That wolves team also had the Ant man whom everybody was trying to crown the next “MJ”. So I’m not understanding your point but okay bro.
Bruh it’s 1 game man I’m getting so tired of the media especially former players not addressing and stressing it’s 1 game! You cannot judge a series off of 1 game I’m so tired of the media bruh it’s crazy.
@@colorada3000 Luka didn't play well and was a big part of the reason the Mavs lost. Sure he got his 30 points, but what did he do beyond that? His shooting efficiency was below average, he had 1 assist and 4 turnovers, and the Celtics targeted him when the Mavs were on defense and it worked, weak defense from Luka. Sometimes you gotta look past points per game to see what's really going on. Brown played great defense and scored efficiently. If the Mavs want to win, Kyrie needs to actually show up, and Luka needs to put up a similar number of points on fewer shots and pass the ball better, not turn the ball over so much, and play better defense.
@@colorada3000 Let's call it like it is. The Celtics made Luka look like a one-dimensional, mediocre-efficiency volume scorer. I know he has the potential to be much better, as a playmaker, defender, and scorer; he will probably show it at some point in this series, if not in game 2. But don't go glazing Luka after that game. Porzingis and Brown alternately looked like the most dominant players in the game, if you consider overall impact on the game and well-rounded play.
@@colorada3000 Luka didn’t even come close to outplaying Jaylen Brown 😂. Brown actually defended getting 3 blocks and 3 steals along with cooking luka whenever he was guarding him. Browns impact on defense was enormous game 1.
I can’t see this series going 7, the Celtics are just too versatile defensively, they didn’t even attempt to double or blitz Luka because they didn’t have to, that allowed their defender to stay home on corner 3’s and Luka kick outs, essentially making Luka dribble the air out the ball killing the flow of the offense, hence him only having 1 assist, Celtics in 6
Lmao, you are taking Mavs very lightly, Mavs lost game 1 to clippers n thunders by double digits n won the series. You really think KP will drop 20 again n Kai will go for 12, just watch tmr
@@rafaelisslaam1894the Celtics aren’t the thunder or clippers lol. This is a whole different beast. Also KP scored around his average and he doesn’t even have his legs. He’ll only get better
@@rafaelisslaam1894 lmaooo Kp littearly averaged 20 for the entire season tf are you talking about? Of course he’ll drop 20 again, Kyrie has also LOST 11 STRAIGHT GAMES to Boston, The Mavs have lost 5 straight to Boston overall all mostly blowouts and that’s with Luka scoring 30 in most of those games, The Celtics are just better and it’s very obvious
Every time Celtics win, its because the other team played bad or choked etc.. never gives Celtics their credit for their defensive effort.. same old espn.
I think he did good defensively, the problem is they were up 30 and then let Dallas comeback to 8 while only 1 player from Dallas actually played fine, thats literally why people in media and just fans in general didnt believe in them in general. On paper they are so much better that it should not even be question who wins this series, but episodes like these idk... What if instead of 29 it was 15 and they started to make a run at the end of 3rd not at the end of 2th. Its insane to think that favorites at home, up 30 at one point, other team dont play good like at all and u somehow let them to comeback to 8...
@@Mrt-yg9mw teams make comebacks all the time. Runs are made. It's a rare thing to see a team hold a 20 plus lead throughout a whole game or whenever they run a lead up that high. Even the worst teams cut into leads.
@@hking990 SAS doesnt speak truth, he creates narratives that align with his bias & nostalgia. Nothing more. He dont know anything about basketball and was a terrible player.
Rudy is a really good defender though, KP is taller & can jump which helps him combat Gafford & Lively’s athleticism at that eight. Rudy really just needs a more consistent offensive game
The switch up on Kyrie from the media and fans is wild 😂 All the praise when he cooked the Timberwolves. All the Luka MVP! Lose game one and they are crap and no good. Porzingis ain’t going to go off 4 games in a row.
Anyone gonna talk about how kyrie is still effected by the boston crowd?? Arguing with fans during the game, dribbling off his foot, shots hitting the side of the backboard, and airballing layups. Kyries haunted by the leprachaun, and then to taunt the fans after the game... 😂😂 goodluck buddy ☘️☘️☘️☘️
@@hado.uken_ I like Kyrie but people act like Boston traded him 😂. He chose to leave and team up with KD so I don’t get why they think he needs redemption.

The Boston Celtics are a different animal. Boston has size, athleticism and shot making ability and their defense is incredible when they step up. I don’t see this going past 5 games.
First Take needs to get their butts back in the studio. Starting to get annoyed with these remote shows and having people overtalk each other. It’s unprofessional and lazy for the number 1 sports show on tv
So what I here the guys saying is that the Boston Celtics being #2 best defensive team, #2 best offensive team and the #1 team all year had nothing to do with the reason why Dallas lost. It was just Dallas had a bad game. hmmm
No way Stephen A is saying "we thought Porzingis was hurt" about his predictions. Mad Dog was right. Celtics can give one of the top 5 players a rest each game and still win.
told everyone the celtics would win by 20 and kyrie wouldn't show up in game 1. boston had a ton of rest and its in boston, mavs players havent been on this stage and celtics are wayy too hungry. not saying its over but now the series starts
(10:05) Dray Carter: " _The Mavs had no answers for the Celtics defensively_ " Gametape: The Mavs had an answer for Jayson Tatum (the Celtics' top guy) Dallas did the following things to Tatum: 1) Picked his pockets (multiple times); 2) Forced him into horrid passes (multiple times); 3) Baited him into taking that janky step-back three-pointer (multiple times); 4) Swarmed him at the rim; and 5) Psyched him out If Tatum doesn't unleash a series of *floaters* then *Dallas' defense is going to continue to feast on him*
The reason Mavs lost the game last night, it was not the crowed, not Porzingis, it was Stephen ASmith!!!!! He had a diabolical game by praising Kyrie to the moon( we all know he really hates Kyrie) he was putting a vicious psychological pressure on him by saying that he is the best, he is the only one who can beat the Seltics, he has to show up, over and over. Kyrie just folded , plus the crowed, and all this had a very negative effect on his mind. Porzingis was a fluck. Kyrie even made a subtle comment to his teammates not to pay attention to social media afte the game. You will see a very different Kyrie and the Mavs on sunday
@@CriticalLion275 could it have been that Celtics were just flat out better? Could it be that the Mavs just didn't have an answer for the Celtics? It is possible that Boston is just a better team overall
@@ShaadsComicsandBeers for all the years that I watch the Mavs( because of Luka really) I have never seen Luka with only one assist, Porzingis is a good player when he is on, like the last time. Seltics are not a better team, the only 2 players that are good are Jrue and Brown, and ocasionaly White. And yes, they were are better team at the game but I am telling you that Kyrie was not him self ,and by the way Tatum is the most overrated player in the NBA. All these so called analysts are desperately trying to make him the face of the league, but he is just a a avarage player. Brown is 10 times better then him
Perk was right about KP.... When he is hitting mid range right over the top the Celtics are so tough to beat. Mavs will come back and win game 2 just like they did (dont yall forget what happened to OKC and LAC)
Difference between KD's calf injury in the 2019 playoffs and KP's injury was that KP had a month and a half rest compared to the 2 weeks of rest Kevin Durant had. Rest matters
I can't forget how these same people just yesterday told me that Luka and Kyrie's pick and roll was going to destroy the Celtics because the Celtics hasn't played anyone, how the east was soft, how Boston hasn't been tested. Well last night Boston show us just how tested they were, These same talking heads are still chirping that Kyrie was a no show..... No Boston did not LET Kyrie show, that was the problem, Boston has too many blue defenders, it's not THE BOSTON CROWD, no one in the crowd took a single shot, it's the Boston team that has decided this is the year.
im lowkey starting to think Jalen Brown is the best player on the Celtics... I just see massive improvements from him every season. Jason Tatum is good...hes great even but he seems to be not improving at the same rate as Brown..idk just how i see it
Porzingis and Brown took the life out of Dallas. Dallas gotta be more aggressive defensively to stop boston 3pt shooting. The offense will show up game 2 but their defense was trash.
Stephen A nailed it... without Porzingis Dallas is a favorite... but with Porzingis Boston is an unstoppable monster. Porzingis' availability is the central key that will determine the outcome of this series ...
