Even as a dedicated atonal composer and wanderer on Nono’s quest for finding new ways of listening I can’t help but love this. The colors, sometimes reminiscent of Adès or Knussen, feel so unique and strikingly clean, what should feel poppy feels bizarre and fascinating. I commend you for finding a way of using harmony to find a spectrum to overwhelm and underwhelm the ear such to define a new perspective on harmony. Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Ripples in Sunlight is so fresh and unique! The way it surprises me with all those rhythmic and tonal changes literally speaks for the beautifull chaos we see when water falls down. Both music and the paintings are in touch.

Why is nobody talking about how good Sequioa plays this? Kudos Sequioa! You have a playing that gives every note life and profile. The score and the music looks and sounds deceptively simple, but is difficult to execute on this level. David Bruce, I really enjoyed this music. It had hints of a courante and a gigue in the first two movements, and for some reason, to my ears, also hints of english folk music.Beautifully crafted from your initial seeds of ideas into three almost Charakterstück-like pieces. I, as a pianist, am secretly hoping for more piano pieces!

Reminiscent of Debussy, but with more crunch and bravado. Love it! If I can scrap together the cash I'll try to buy it.

I hear English Renaissance keyboard music in this first piece. Byrd specifically comes out in this, which I think is pretty cool. Reminiscent of a distant past but still firmly modern.

Dear Diary, It's been twelve years since I first came across the thing I never thought would change my life. For the past twelve years, I have been doing nothing but pondering on the one thing. Chord genders. What does it mean? My time of pondering is sure to continue for quite some time. As of recent, sleep has been scarce. The mystery of it all can only keep me up. Two nights ago, I had a flash of hope as I thought I had figured out the meaning. But no, it was merely an artefact of my gradually deteriorating sanity. I will be trapped in the bubble of my existence until I figure out the meaning. Chord genders...

Id like to see you talk a bit about how you conceptualize the relationship between your melody at its 'foundation' and its ornamentations. I love those decorative flourishes, and I cant help but wonder if you started from something simpler and then extrapolated it to what it is now with ornamentation. Cheers!

I’m sorry for the harsh and lacking critique, but this really isn’t very good. The themes and motifs are used and mutated creatively but there is no apprehend attempt to make it striking or pleasant to listen to. Technically, it is very good. I’m sorry to say this, and you make great educational videos, but if I wrote this I might feel privately proud of its intentioned and sensical complexity, but wouldn’t show it to anyone besides as a novelty piece.

@xLucio91x

You may not enjoy it, but claiming that this "isn't very good" as if it's an objective observation is frankly quite naive. If you're not going to argument why something is for you of objective "low quality", I would suggest you to stick to "I don't like it".
