Unearthing a 1936 International T20 Crawler/Dozer after 25+ years of sitting 

It's a good thing you grabbed it for a project and I hope you are working out! I don't know if you have ever cranked one of those things but it's a experience in itself. God bless and I hope you get the time to get together soon with your dad on it. I wish I was in the neighborhood, I change those things called tractor tires in the bed as part of my making a living. I have gotten pretty good at it over my 30+ years. I'm going to say as I usually do, I hope you all have a great Friday and a great weekend. Cool Easy fix, lot of parts around.

Mike, Scott, that crawler seems to wanna come out of there. I uncovered a stashed bunch of BIKES and motorcycle stuff in the desert. I would have escaped unscathed if it hadn't been for the fox in front of me directing me into a hole where I I crashed and got scratched by a pedal. I feel the determination of getting the work in for " THAT RUSTY GOLD"... GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED ON THE CRAWLER RE BUILD...

Can't wait to see that crawler brought back to life. I love old equipment wish I had a place to keep and restore something

The GMC body would look quite proper on top of those tracks... nailhead powered since that engine is guaranteed locked up... center steer, weld in sheetmetal over the wheel arches...

I’m totally with you buddy!! I absolutely hate to see all the stuff that people like to take and scrap out just so They can get some money out of it!! They don’t ever think that once it’s scrapped out you won’t ever see it again and there won’t be another one!! It’s like all the older cool looking dodges and Chevy pickups that get crushed once there gone they are gone for ever!! I do have to admit that I do scrap but I will usually keep something that is old for a couple years and try and find someone that is more interested in what ever it might be to restore and not get scraped out!! Plus I will usually get a little more out of it then I would if I did end up scraping it out!! The only thing is I might have to sit on it for several years before I find the right person that might want it but that is definitely worth it to me for sure!! That’s the way I will always do scrap!! I will hang on to the older stuff and just scrap the little piddly stuff!! Awesome video buddy I definitely can’t weight to see the T20 running again for sure!! The WD45 I think it will be a breeze to get going again compared to the T20!! Lol!! I do no a guy I went to school with that is big into older tractors and really really good at getting them to run after sitting for a long time also!! I’d definitely recommend getting a case of some Areokroil to help with getting some of the bolts loose on the crawler!! Plus if you were to clean all the stuff out of that motor and then just dumped a bunch of the Aerokroil to fill the inside of it up and just let it sit for a month or so I’d bet you anything that stuff would definitely loosen that motor up for sure!! The stuff works awesome!!!

My late brothers father in law before his health went down hill ran an underground boring company and contracted thru Norfolk Southern railroad he collects old tractors of all makes ...dont know how many he has or had but thats his hobby preserving old history like that

McCormick Deering is a trademark name of certain International machinery. As you were panning the undercarriage with the camera, I spotted several IH logos on the components. Looking forward to the video series on the restoration!

I believe the engine is the same as a W20 farm tractor - we have a T20 gas in our local museum that one family owned since new. I think you can get it to run if you find the right donor tractor - good luck!

I like that little tractor :) Getting the engine sorted will be a nightmare, being parked with exhaust open and without plugs for that long.. but its a cool old machine even if it just ends up as a conversation piece sitting in a field. Dont let the scrappers get it :)

We have a Allis WD at the farm! A '49 or a '50 I believe has the 40 hp kit put in her and she takes an act of Congress to start (very cold blooded)

Well… you’ll have no shortage of content with that crawler! It’s gonna be a ton of work. No to mention hundreds of hours of labor. But I’ll keep watching!!

I think you can transplant a complete engine from an f20 into that crawler. Might even be able to step up to a newer M engine if you're not picky about being a correct restoration

I only know a tiny bit about these pieces of equipment. With it having a split gas/K1 tank, would that make it one of those set ups where you start it on the spark ignition with gas, then switch to a "diesel" run set up on kero? I seem to remember having seen something about that a few years back....

Just snag a tractor with the same engine for a donor. I have a 59 International TD340 with a Drott 4 in 1 loader

Can the engine be pulled in the field and taken home first for disassembly and rebuilt as you are trying to transport the rest of the "tracker"?
