As long as formulation doesn't change I'm happy. Also I find it aspirational when a small black owned business is acquired because that's an open to generational wealth

For the BOB that are left, we need to support as best as possible, so that we have something that resemble us on the shelves. If we don't, we will be right back where we started. Buy a lipstick, something to let these companies know we want to be represented also. In this time and era, we are still fighting for representation, but we have put forth the effort and support. Buy for yourself, buy as gifts and put some of our melanin sisters on to the products. I've done it plenty of times. Not only makeup but hair care products. I've exposed a lot of people to black own brands as gifts.

As long as that loose powder comes back and the formula doesn’t change I’m happy because that powder is super underrated and actually rivals the huda easy bake and surpasses it. Surprised that Cashmere didn’t push out promotion of her powder when easy bake went viral a few times on tik tok.

I love that the brand decided not to close. My issue: Just don't change the formula from better to worse. And keep those chocolate shades chocolate, no ash or trash, please. Other than that, I can't wait because, as far as I'm concerned, it may not be black owned anymore, BUT it was still made for the BLACK WOMAN ❤❤❤100% US! Besides, if you buy MAC, LANCOME, ANASTASIA, GUCCI, CHANNEL, AND SO ON.... When none of those brands started off making makeup for the black woman. But we love and buy them anyway, then this company that was created just for the sista and includes others, relaunch under new management shouldn't bother us,right? So, no worries over here,Sis!😊

Considering how they acquired Mented while also keeping the founder involved this brand seems to put some value in satisfying the current customer base so that's good. Will I be buying anything from them? No, but that's because they don't really have products for my makeup preferences so I wasn't a customer to begin with

I went through the comments when I saw the post because I already knew there would be an uproar. I did see a comment that said well it’s not going to be black owned so I’m not gonna support and there was a response to it saying that even if it’s not black owned anymore there will be black people leading the brand and a black woman is running it and nothing about the formula is going to change or she wouldn’t have sold. So if formula ain’t changing, I’m glad it’s back.

I don’t see the new owners letting the former owner of beauty bakerie have much input in the future of the brand if she goes further into her religious journey especially if it starts to get negative. That being said I wonder if selling was her goal all this time. The initial closing down talk would’ve spiked fomo and increased demand for the brand to stay open wayyy more than an initial “I’m looking for a buyer” convo would’ve gone

i'm cool with this. i was one of the people who complained that she didn't sell it so this move makes the most sense to me lol. i'll still buy it if the formulas and shades stay the same

The employees were spilling the tea on Cashmere and she was terrible to them behind the scenes. But this acquisition is just not a good thing. It's the same company that acquired Mented and they have no experience in the beauty industry.

this is good news! i panic purchased the setting powder and fell in love. she had a wonderful product and cute brand identity. Im happy that she sold but i do worry about quality decline under new management

Did you see the update on Karen Reed! Great for beauty bakery. You cannot make everyone happy. Religious psychosis is REAL.

I hate to see another BOB leave the hands of the people that conceived it. But she did say that she won't be far away so maybe she can keep it close to her vision

As someone else said. You can't please everyone. The reason these Black Owned Brands. Held majority support of Black indviduals. Especially Black Women. Because you are seen as a first thought and not a afterthought. I rather she kept it closed. I understand. Trying to get the best of both worlds. I hope the quality stays as it is. No added preservatives and whatever nonsense that they try to justify needs to be included.

the religious psychosis concerns me. it was awful to put all of her employees out of jobs because she felt the need to go on a "spiritual journey" and make a podcast that legitimately sounded like a cult. people who boast about being hyper religious usually never do the actions to back it up, they don't support their community or those who rely on them. her move to close it with no consideration for anyone but herself gave that impression.

If she wants to serve the Lord that’s her choice and good for her. It’s no one decision.
