This is honestly one of the most enjoyable laps you’ve ever had, you can tell the owner has poured his heart into this car and his enthusiasm is infectious. The guys who turn up with brand new German machines, mapped to high heaven by a third party and cannot make it around the ring without overheating don’t have near enough the same interest for me.

Great to see somebody giving love to a Primera GT... I've had a couple of these in the past, and was running a SR20VE with quaife diff and a shorter final drive. Was still only 198hp but would upset a few EP3 drivers out on track. Always loved it because it was the unloved underdog but pretty capable chassis for what they were. Still miss mine today.

I really miss my P10 touring. It was a brilliantly competent and easy to push car. Not many of the mainstream people new to cars know of these golden days in motorsport and other legendary races like the DTM, touring cars, golden days in rally .etc and they are all often overlooked, these are from back when they first designed/made cars to enter a race to perform & be competitive then they made a street version to sell, nowadays its the other way around. happy to see one of these pop up on the channel

I had a Primera GT-LE saloon for a time, fantastic car. The GT saloon really is something special, the engine is mounted lower and further back vs a regular Primera, it has under chassis bracing, it has a finned gearbox with air ducting, it has a watercooled oil cooler, front and rear strut braces, etc. Mine had weight reduction, battery relocation, intake, headers, suspension, and tyres, I also advanced the timing quite a lot and ran it on high octane fuel. It was the best handling car I have ever driven... Admittedly I haven't driven anything particularly exotic, but it was better than popular hot hatches, MX5s, and so on. It seemed like it could go round corners at any speed, I absolutely loved that car. It was 170KG lighter than standard, and had about 20HP more than standard. They are truly underappreciated, and sadly getting extremely rare because of corrosion. Unexpectedly it wasn't corrosion that killed mine, it was the engine going pop. RIP Swatmera... :(

I enjoyed driving it so much I decided to only get rid of it if it need something expensive spending on it. It went for another 5 years before finnaly losing drive when giving it a boot full out of a side street. Not sure what went, the gear box was still connected and changing gears ok. Maybe diff or drive shaft failure. I felt a bit upset leaving the poor old girl on the side of the road.

100% driveshaft snapped. They had a rubber weight on the middle of the shafts, it was thought they were supposed to reduce vibrations. A very common failure, water could get in behind the weight and slowly rust away the shaft. Almost all failures were behind that weight. A popular mod was to cut the weight off and repaint the shaft. They were great handling cars. It's a shame they never offered the SR20VE in them.

Great drive! I find it very entertaining watching you drive with your right foot flat on the floor board and your lines also show how much momentum you actually do carry through the corners where the cheat code cars kind of mask that on video. Cheers!

I've had two Primeras. With the first I was on ring with the stock engine and after a year I swapped SR20VE and I can say that it's worth it. The car is so much fun (I have a few videos on my channel). Also, you can fit 300zx callipers, it's a similar story like you said but I guess it's worth it. Oh and the second one was STW that I sold to my friend now that I need a family car. But seeing this video, man I do miss it.

The drivers car, as it was marketed. It's back home!! (its handling was refinded on the ring) Got to drive a brand new p10 eGT saloon when I was 18 after persuading the old fella to go for one as his company car lol. He never regretted letting me bend him to that. Had 2 P11 Nordic GTLE's hatches. Both missed, superb on BC coilovers.

Awesome to see these featured. Iv currently got a P11, stock manual SR20DE and it is such a fun car. It has surprising acceleration too, it can keep up with and sometimes even pass a GT86. I know they aren’t the fastest either but one’s a 4 door sedan that was designed for comfort and the other is literally designed to be a sports car.

Loved this review and great to see other old school followers getting their cars showcased. The owner's passion is amazing. I hope you do more low horse power momentum cars.

Really great to see your appreciation of all types of cars and not just high powered exotics. This looked like a genuinely fun chassis to enjoy.

Oh, this is the DE engine instead of VE engine, but it's still very decent! I always love this generation of Primera, they looks very good!

My dad had one of those. I remember when I was a teenager I was always super excited when he drove with me on the Autobahn or curvy mountain roads. 150HP doesn't sound like a lot, but back then it was still faster than what average people were driving at that time (and the speedometer was far ahead of the real speed it was able to do. lol). Watching this clip brought back some of the memories I had with my dad. Thank you for this !!!

Wow, memories of the old 90s BTCC come back to mind, used to be one of my favorites to watch back then, aside from the 250/500cc GP races. Cheers from Canada.

Haha, got to love how diverse people are. Some barely say a word the entire lap, this owner barely stopped saying something the entire lap :P But I like him :) If he reads this: did you ever happen to try / compare the F2000 with Tarox Corsa pads? I got that combo and am pretty happy with it.. needs to get a little heat in it to work 100%, but then it brakes nice and progressive.

Some people are there for the experience, other people are too scared to talk, and others are there for Misha himself and to talk about their own car. I get the feeling he's the latter type. :)

Nope didn't try those pads, don't even know if they are available for the stock calipers. Maybe worth a try when I swap to R33 GTS-T brakes.

My Dad had a Primera as a work car in NZ when I was younger and I loved it when he'd take me for a ride in it. It was in this weird pastel metallic mint green which was really nice.

My brother had a Primara 2.0 with 150hp. Lowered with old scool screw adjustments, 17" wheels and good tires and a freaking wooden steering wheel. Was a hoot to drive on small roads, really well driving car.
