I really liked that opening, those were some real cool clips.👍 Nice pollen and nectar going.😁 I saw eggs. Crazy bees those are nice frames of brood, they make things so difficult sometimes.😂
Looks like she is doing a good job to me, but I figured out bees are better bees them me.😂 Mine did that last season but I had poor bread queens from a crappy Spring.
Im leaning toward supercedure. Not enough bees, didnt see drones. I think i saw 2 of thise pesky small capped queen cells at 2:53. They looked like emergency cells. Thise produce stuby little queens.
When I was editing I was seeing it in a different light. There weren’t many bees and the hive was packed with nectar. I was thinking they could have already swarmed. But I’m sticking to the idea of Supersedure for now. I thought those cells were dodgy drones. I’ve never seen small queen cells. Thanks man.
Since you have fresh eggs (all look to be 1-2 days old) and no capped swarm cells, scrape off all the queen cells and cups. Come back in a week and you will know if they are truly trying to supersede her, or wanting to swarm. No harm in removing those cups/cells, as there are fresh eggs that can be turned into new queens (if that is the colony's true intent). They should not swarm without queen cells pheromones present.
Taking brood from this hive would certainly send it into a spiral. And I’m sure the box with this queen would probably fail as well. As I said in the video. No swarm.
