UNFORGETTABLE Solo Wild Camping Solitude in the Heart of Lake District 

When I was 15 I wild camped by the stream to the right of the telephone kiosk. Brought back a lot of happy memories.

The peaks above the inversion looked like nunataks in Antarctica. Breathtaking.

I wish that area was that quiet on a hot summers day!

That wine holder looks like a drip bag. Surely you can find a way of securing it to the roof of the tent with a syphon tube and then you can concentrate all of your energy on the sandwich and chocolate bar. Stunning video as always. I generally watch them more than once they are so entertaining.

Having not done an over-nighter more than twenty-five years, three days ago I took my 17 year old son (his first wild camp) up the Esk River and we camped approx, 50m below where you were camped on High Gait Crags. Words cannot describe the beauty of the place. The next morning we climbed the side of Cam Spout to the summit of Scafell Pike, returning via Little Narrowcove. What a great two days out. Thanks for the inspiration, it was just what the doctor ordered.l

When i lived in the Lakes my fav place was just where you are. It does not get any better especially when you have it to your self

Hi Dave, I can't think of any better words than "absolutely stunning". You are without doubt the 21st century equivalent to Wainwright...only better! This was truly exceptional. Thank you for treating us to this quality footage for everyone who loves the Lakes. Incidentally a few years back my brother and I were crossing Great Moss - when all of a sudden we were spotted by a herd of cattle who stampeded us in a "pincer" movement. We literally had to run for our lives. It was only the farmer some distance off...on his quad bike, who called the herd away and saved the day for us. Truly terrifying!! This area is as you say jaw dropping👍

Absolutely love it around Great Moss, as you said probably the most remote(definitely top 3) and it’s an beautiful place. I’ve never seen more than 2 people once I’ve passed lingcove bridge all the was up to cam spout

Dave congratulations on this vlog, Upper Eskdale is my favourite place in the Lakes, one for the connoisseur, and far from the madding crowds. I never cease to be amazed at this huge wilderness at the heart of the Lakes, and this side of the Scafell range is so much more impressive than the Wasdale side, with Esk Buttress, Mickledore, Broad Stand all looking superb.
