We just got back from an amazing trip to Oceanside, CA and we were able to spend some time with our son Ethan and daughter in law Gènesis. The beaches were beautiful and the weather was perfect. What a great video, it is always great to spend quality time with family and Ethan is a handsome young man and him and his wife look like a great couple. Thank him for his service, I spent 33 years in the Army and never felt more pride in myself and honored to serve our country it was truly great adventure most of the time. Thanks for sharing such great memories with all of us.

There's so much more in Oceanside to see!! Lived here for years. The Tom Cruise house renovation is soon to open too. The downtown is quaint with beautiful eateries. Yes, gas is horrendous here...we pay up the wazoo to live here but how beautiful 😍

Wow, Oceanside... that was my home when stationed at Camp Pendleton back in the 90s. I remember the hover craft out there on the beach was an awesome sight early in the morning. OC was not as much as it is today I imagine going by what i can see in the video. Thank you for your sons service. oorah.

Yes, we have heard from friends there in the late 90’s that there was hardly anything there. Oceanside and Carlsbad and both nice cities now.

I live in Oceanside, have lived here for 23 years, and loved the food vlog, next time you guys are down in the area try Ty’s Burger House, it’s a local food joint near the beach that serves the best burgers and it’s walking distance from the beach, also if you’re in town next time on Thursdays, the city closes portions of the street near the beach in the morning for a farmers market and in the afternoon it’s called sunset market and it’s full of fun little stores and delicious foods and sweets pop up shops

Our son and DIL are both Marines. They lived in Oceanside until about a month ago and they moved back on base. We will be heading that way again next week to see them.

I love Oceanside. We stayed in a vacation condo with a view to the pier. It was expensive but it was a million dollar view. 🥰🥰🥰

He had just got back from a 7 month deployment on a navy ship so he was still adjusting understandably but he did actually had a good time…lol! Génesis’ is a bit shy to the camera as we are just used to it! 👍

That’s my home town! My grandmothers name is etched on the pier there in Oceanside. You should have taken a picture with the Top Gun house there where the pier is.

There is the Sunset Market with all the food vendors on Thursday nights in Oceanside. Oceanside has many great restaurants on PCH and it's a great place to live. Glad you enjoyed your time here. You missed the best fish and chips at Harbor Fish and Chips.

Great to see you enjoying California! We traded places, I guess. We are in Louisiana (spending the night boondocking at Houma's House in Darrow and you are in Ca. Yep, gas prices are much better here, $2.00 less than CA per gallon.

Good news !! I got booked on a 9 day Caribbean cruise. On the Celebrity Equanox on October 6 -15. I was able to get one of the two handicapped rooms left. 10th floor Balcony room. Can't wait !! (Of course I have to buy a smaller handicapped scooter to fit in the elevator 🛗. ) it would be wonderful if you guys came on the cruise.

You will enjoy it! By the way, you can rent scooters that will be delivered to your cruise ship. That way you don’t have to worry about transporting one. Google cruise scooter rentals and there are several reputable companies.

I called two companies that did that. I told them I would need my scooter when I parked car because I could not walk to the ship. Both said they could put it in my cabin but that was it. And when my cruise ended I would have to leave it in my cabin. So it looks like I will have to buy one. Thanks for the suggestion.

How did you drive to California without going thru AZ and NM ? or haven’t you gotten decals for those states? Did you ever see the sea lions at Oceansde harbor ? You need to visit in August or September and have Jason try surfing ! Surfers used to be able to ‘shoot the pier ‘, that is, surf from one side to the other between the pilings. Not allowed any more !

We only put a sticker on if we spend the night in a state and do something there. So there are several states we have been through but didn’t count them.
