Update: I’ve now unhauled The Witches and Matilda. Let’s just cleanse our shelves of Roald Dahl, we really don’t need him in this day and age.

A friend just gave me "My Uncle Oswald" by Dahl, and she said it is hilarious. I thought it was appalling! Super rapey and gross. OMG. I'm super done with him. Love you videos!

Pro tip for unhauling: take them off the shelf. It forces you to look at them in a different light and makes it easier. The idea is cuz they’re in a different spot your eyes stop glancing over them and it’s like “oooh shiny new thing!” It’s dumb but effective.

Unhauling used to be the hardest thing for me, they all felt like family. But the past few years I've realized how easy it is, I still buy a ton but at least I can get rid of books too. ☺

I was the same! Last year was my first unhaul after years of refusing to, but it felt cathartic and now I can’t stop apparently 😂

I loved the idea so much that i made myself a cup of tea and tried the challenge myself: just with 10 books and not 100 and it took me an embarassing long time haha

This is so cathartic! You don't hesitate. It's so hard to unhaul, especially since I've become really good at just adding floating shelves on every bit of empty wall. ^^

So ruthless! I’m such a hoarder, really struggle to unhaul stuff I haven’t read in case I read it “one day”. I have started unhauling books I don’t think I’ll read again though. Hope you made enough shelf space to fit those stacks in! 🙂

I recently read Before the Coffee Gets Cold and my feelings about it were just lukewarm (pun intended haha) whereas this was absolutely brilliant :- ) And the two different angles were cool, too :- )

This was so fun! When you lost the book you wanted to unhaul and were so confused I felt so seen and cackled through my sip of tea, it happens to me all the time! How could I just have forgotten??? I knew what I was doing like 2 seconds ago??! Somehow you make watching someone get rid of books highly entertaining, thanks for my morning giggle!

the way i see it, the point of receiving gifts is the gesture. once you own the present, it is your do what you will, the "gifting" process is already over!

Oh, I got you the Famous FIve as it was my childhood favourite series while growing up and thought you might like it. Unfortunately, after I already made the order for you, I was on twitter and saw the problematic stuff with her books, but it was too late to cancel the order. I hope that you at least enjoyed the other book that was sent with the Famous Five. You always know how to make an interesting and funny videos, Gavin. Keep it goint. :)

I read My Heart Is A Chainsaw. After seeing those Slasher 101 essays, I couldn't put it down. But I wouldn't reread it... It's long... And fun challenge aside from the cold coffee part.

I am getting ready soon to build two more bookcases which will give me a chance to reorganize my shelves. I already know certain books that will go in a box and go downstairs because I won't read them, but at the same time I can't give away just yet because they are my mom's, but I could always ask or she may want me to sell them, it's mainly Richard Laymon books and I am not interested except for a couple of them. The authors I need to look at that I may read, but not in an urgent way is John Saul, Lee Child, Douglas Preston, Bentley Little and Anne Rice. I love Anne, but I'm still not in the mood to start Vampire Armand yet, I got pretty far into it, but I burned myself out. I am glad you didn't unhaul Fable by Adrienne Young, that was a fun book, but if you haven't read it, give it a try.

I don't have enough books to get rid of 100 but I think I need to be more harsh with what I keep. I really only want to get rid of books I've read and probably won't read again though, so I'm always stuck!

I've never seen anyone mention The Way of All Flesh! This and the sequel's cover are so pretty but that's all I can say about the book. The first one took me ages to get through, I think at least a year. Don't think I will read the second one :/ quite sad cause I love the setting and the Victorian era. I read a series that takes place in the same city during the same time and I LOVED it! Sadly this one wasn't for me

Fairest is a good book to read because it gives a good backstory of the queen and why she is the why she is. I thought It was an important book in the series.

Drear cliff grange is amazing the haunting is the sequel to drear cliff grange school for unusual girls you fall in love with all the students and there world the sequel is set in year 4 so the girls are 14 in it theres 6 years in the school. The moth club i wish there were more then two books in the series

I’m not 100% sure myself but I see them in there all the time and at least the money would be going towards a charity and I’m not gaining anything from it. They have to go somewhere and would rather they go there to be honest.

While most arcs say you can't sell them the publishers allow for it to be sold at thrift/charity shops but they crack down on selling it for $100+ online.

Fairest isn’t an anthology and it was really good! I’m currently reading Five On Treasure Island and I’m LOVING it!! They’re GREAT adventure stories! The only reason they’d (I’m including Roald Dhal here too) be “problematic” is because of the time they were written in, which isn’t Enid Blyton or Roald Dhal’s fault.
