Welcome Remarks: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Access to safe, affordable housing is critical to the economic stability of individuals and families, as well as the region as a whole; however, increasing median rents and stagnant incomes have led to a widespread housing crisis across many urban cities across the United States.
This summit will bring together leading academics, politicians, and policy practitioners to examine homelessness in California and explores short and long term solutions to helping and housing the state’s most vulnerable population.
This event is being hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chairman of the USC Schwarzenegger Institute, and Gary Painter, Director of the USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation and is supported by the Southern California Leadership Council, Govern For California, and Downtown Women's Center.

In November 2011, Price Philanthropies made an extraordinary $50 million gift to the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy to honor the life and legacy of Sol Price, founder of Price Club. The naming gift also launched the Sol Price Center for Social Innovation.
The mission of the Sol Price Center for Social Innovation is to develop ideas and illuminate strategies to improve the quality of life for people in low-income urban communities.
